I was hesitant to work with a certified personal trainer because I, like a lot of people, thought I can do this on my own. But working with Steve has helped me be more effective in my workouts and the results have been excellent so far. I'm consistently losing weight and for exercises I find uncomfortable he will adjust them for me so I can still get the same results with a different method. We are doing a lot of core work which I need and I feel better than I have in months. I would highly recommend working with Steve if you're considering treating yourself to a trainer. He has also overhauled my diet and has encouraged me to give up coffee (almost there!). He is knowledgeable and accommodating and your time will be used efficiently.

OMG!!! I don't think I can work with any other personal trainer. Baron and Marcos set a really high bar. I'm new to "getting fit" so I know absolutely nothing at all. I went on a lengthy email exchange with Baron before I started, and Baron was prompt and thorough with his responses. Never did he get frustrated with all the stupid, inane questions I threw at him. Marcos is an awesome trainer. Always on time, totally flexible, and quick to think on his feet to adapt the routine to my unfit body. I've only been six? sessions in, and already I'm seeing results. For example, I went from not being able to plank at all (soooooo embarrassing) to being able to plank for over a minute. Baron and team is probably the best value of all the trainers in the Bay Area. Considering that your trainer **comes to you** and brings all the necessary equipment for the session, I don't think ANYONE can beat their price.

After years and years of wanting to have a personal trainer, I always pushed it off. But something about turning 25 was a wake up call for me. So I made the plunge and did my research and looked into plenty of Personal Trainers but none of them really stood out. It wasn't until using this service and Anthony reaching out to me is a very fast manner that I took the opportunity to meet with him. Let's just say after a quick 15 min phone call and getting to know one another, I was hooked and ready to go. I started my training session on Monday and for someone who really hasn't stepped foot in a GYM or lifted weights, Anthony understands that and works to your level. During the 30 min workout (which felt longer at times haha) he was with me every step of the way, motivating and encouraging me to complete my sets. It has truly been the best investment I have ever made and look forward to accomplishing my goals. You won't go wrong with God's Gym & Anthony as your trainer. This guy knows his stuff!

I've worked out with trainers before, even one that I loved, and the experience with Anthony has still been on a different level entirely. For the last 5 weeks, I have had the pleasure of having Anthony as my trainer. I have found capacities in my body that I didn't know existed. Anthony is hardly summed up by a five star review. Anthony has one of the sunniest and positive personalities you'll never meet. The workouts are different every day and are fun and enjoyable and never boring. The gym environment is also great. From other trainers and other gym goers, everyone is kind, supportive, and encouraging. Expect to be greeted by everyone when you arrive. Since my first day, the atmosphere has been nothing but positive. I feel very welcomed and extremely comfortable. I've been very impressed with my experience thus far. I love the that God's cultivates a great mix of clientele. I see both men and women (regardless of age, level of fitness, or experience) working on their goals.

My review is specifically for Anthony, my personal trainer of four sessions. He is kind, funny, motivational, positive, enthusiastic, responsive, and was never intimidating nor condescending. He was patient with me when I had to reschedule sessions again and again because of my personal schedule, and always showed up to sessions with a smile, ready to fist bump you. As a complete beginner to using the gym equipment, he helped me feel at ease and competent. One thing to be aware of, though, is that you may share Anthony with a couple of other folks during your session (perhaps there are 1-on-1 options available), which works pretty well as we take turns using the machines. It just means that you may have to be more proactive in grabbing his attention to ask questions, if you do have any and which I know he'd be happy to answer. All in all, 5 stars for Anthony!

I've worked with a few personal trainers over the years and I have to say that hands down, Evan is the best trainer I have ever worked with. I started working out with Evan over a year ago. I have chronic low back pain, and had just had a procedure that was meant to reduce swelling and allow me to exercise more and strengthen my core. I had been doing physical therapy for awhile, but found that the workouts were too mellow, and I didn't really notice any improvement in my core strength. My wife had actually been working out with Evan for a few months and she recommended I try a few workouts with him. Evan has been amazing. The workouts are intense and challenging. He focuses on doing intervals of a quick series of strengthing exercises, with a burst of cardio in between sets that keeps your heart rate elevated for the entire workout. Given my back issues, he is very good about checking in to make sure he is not stressing or straining my lower back (or any other injury I might have picked up). I have noticed dramatic improvement in my core strength and overall fitness in my time with Evan. He also has been willing to email me personalized workouts I can do on my own for days when I'm not working out him. I agree with all the other posts here -- 5 stars. Evan is great.

For a while I had been looking into finding a personal trainer to learn the proper form of workout and better motivation. Evan is a spectacular personal trainer. He's very knowledgeable about what he is doing and will tune the workout towards your weak points. The first session he do your measurements and observer your strengths and then make a plan based on your time to help you reach your goal. I was in the city for short time, but he also gave me workout instructions that I can keep doing on my own and I am very happy I had the chance to workout with him.

I've worked with other personal trainers in the past. But my experience with John exceeded my expectations for several reasons. Upon meeting him I felt quickly at ease. John got me to my goal. And he was REAL. Way honest. He was nice and knowledgeable but he didn't sugar coat what I really needed to do. I told him I wanted to do 5 pull ups (couldn't even do half of one to start). He laid out a plan, told me that with my lifestyle it would truly take at least 3 months. He changed up my diet (which I didn't always follow...) but he showed me I could eat what I want a couple times a week, creating balance with a focus on eating what would get me to my goal. I truly needed the nutritional help. John was extremely professional, kept his eye on my alignment, encouraged me when I did well, fired me up when I needed a push, and answered all of my random texts and calls. He would alter my written weekly workouts if I didn't feel I could do something on my own and then made sure to show me the way when we had another in person session. I could go on. But the best part is that I can now do 5 pull ups. I feel mighty at 5'1"!!! There is no magic to reaching a fitness goal...really any goal. You just have to work hard and that's what I learned from John. I had to want it bad enough. Honestly, paying someone was enough of an inspiration in some ways. I didn't want to waste my money by being lazy. I listened to the professional. John is the second personal trainer I have hired. I won't be looking for a third. I will be continuing with his monthly programming and jumping into some group sessions when I need that extra energy.

This is the perfect place to come to get fit. My usual MO is sign up for fitness classes or trainers, get pushed really hard and give up in a week or two. Youniquely has a different style from other trainers, bootcamps and fitness classes I have taken. The training is truly uniquely fitted to your needs and accelerated or decelerated based on how you are doing and whether you want to or not. This is the difference between buying a dress that is mass-produced vs getting a custom fitted gown!!

Xavier is just what I needed! I wasn't ready to workout in a gym setting, so I Googled personal trainers that would come out to my home. One of the results was Thumbtack, so I filled out my needs and goals. I got 2 emails with trainers that could come to me and out of the 2 results, Xavier stood out. His many years of experience in the fitness industry sold me. Also reviews from clients showed me that he was no joke, the real deal! I have a few pieces of equipment at home already but he brings other equipment that we utilize. He has a positive attitude, he stresses not to get down on myself, very motivational and doesn't let me quit. Dima is the best personal trainer I've ever had! He created a personalized fitness plan specific to my goals and my schedule. My focus was around strength training. The best part was that he also taught me basic information that I needed to know in order to modify my fitness plan over time in order to make it more challenging or in order to fit my changing daily/weekly schedule. Not all trainers are willing to share their secrets, but I definitely felt like Dima really cared that I reached my goals and that he was willing to share whatever knowledge necessary in order for me to do so! He was always approachable, understanding, patient, and easy to work with, but was also tough, constantly pushing me to exceed my own expectations. My personal training experience with Jason Fox consists of three-days a week of a mixture of strength and cardio exercises. Jason is very flexible and communicates in advance regarding any schedule conflictions or need to re-schedule a training session. Thus far, I have lost a total of 8 pounds since working with Jason the first week of January until now, and have received much counsel to help support my weight loss outside of session (eg: Food choices, suggested water intake, vitamin supplements, etc.) . In addition, Jason is a very charismatic trainer and pushes me to be a healthier version of myself without over exhausting my limitations (eg: asthma, weak wrists, etc.). I am comfortable in knowing that I will be pushed each week to exceed my performance of the week, and am constantly encouraged throughout my sessions when I want to give up on a workout component. E.J. Edgerton is the best trainer EVER! I began working with him over 10 years ago years ago to prepare for surgery to replace a torn off ACL I sustained skiing and to rehab after that surgery. He got me in such good shape that I decided to keep going to him on a regular basis so I could STAY in shape! His knowledge of musculature and connective tissue is superb. I can say, "It hurts here" and he will have an immediate fix. He has taught me a lot about how I need to stretch and strengthen. I consider working with him critical to my physical well-being and well worth it. He keeps me in condition for my very active life and does it in an efficient way. He's very pleasant and low-key. Ej is an excellenct trainer. I joined thumbtack to be connected with someone who had professional experience working with disability to help me recover from a surgery on my foot. Ej helped me gain strength, mobility, flexibility and overall stronger physical health. 2 years after my c-section, I continued to have pain in my lower back. Even though physical therapy helped, the pain lingered on. I was unable to do any exercises beyond the ones recommended during the physical therapy. That's when Radha came to the rescue. She listened very patiently to my problem and customized exercises that suited my comfort level and yet pushed me to getting stronger. All our training sessions started with assessing my pain level and exercising accordingly. Her training routine has definitely served as a springboard for high intensity exercises. Radha is great to work with. She really takes time to customize each of her clients, with me I have a bad knee and shoulder and we have been rehabilitating yet still working the muscles and fine tuning technique. I have never worked with another trainer that puts in as much effort to create a workout plan. Have been training with Pete for over 7 years now, and I've always been extremely happy with the service he provides. Depending on whether I'm training to build mass, maintain fitness, or doing injury recovery, he customizes my routines to achieve that goal. As a former Bio major in school, I've always appreciated his deep knowledge of physiology and his ability to explain each exercise in terms of the muscle groups impacted and why the form and posture is critical. Lastly, while some trainers are flakes, Pete is the picture of professionalism and has never once had to cancel a session with me. I wish I could say the same (; I recommend Pete in the strongest terms.

I really enjoy working with Herman. He is very engaging during the training. Herman will motivate and push you beyond your limit that you didn't even know you are capable of. He focuses on what your goals and your needs are and adjust the workout or meal prep to help achieve it. He is also very responsive and flexible with my capabilities. He will adjust the workout to my needs, my range of motions, and my injuries. When my wrists are acting up, he will alter the exercise and accommodate to my limitations. Not only is he a personal trainer, he is also a friend who cares about how I'm doing in life. He would check up on me on how my injuries are doing or if I'm sore from the workouts. He'll also give me suggestions on how to alleviate the pain or tells me how to stretch to help my soreness. Overall, I am really satisfied with Herman and I am really seeing results!!

Matt is working with me twice a week on strength training especially for my core. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and very pleasant to work with. He is patient yet on each machine or exercise he frequently asks me if I can go up on weight, stretch further, etc. He creates a varied routine for me & I enjoy the sessions. Matt is always looking out for my safety & guides me as to proper form. He always takes into account my specific weak areas. He is flexible w scheduling. I've worked with three very good trainers however, I feel I've made the most progress toward my goals with Matt. I look forward to my sessions with Matt & my mind/body feel good when I go home. I had Sanchez as a trainer for about two years before I moved out of town. I still make sure to see him when I travel back to town. Dude knows his stuff, is light-hearted but unrelenting, and actually gets results. Recommended for those focusing on strength training, though he might Zumba like a motherfucker; I don't know.
