Paul Grether is a very talented musician and teacher and a great person. He is wonderful with kids. He is sweet, smart, motivational, caring and funny. My 9 year old son loves him and loves his guitar lessons. He gave up tennis to have two guitar lessons a week. Paul is so affordable to top it off that we are able to afford two one hour lessons a week. I am thrilled to pieces. Anyone would be lucky to have guitar lessons with Paul.
Great Teacher! His playing demonstrates a profound knowledge of his instrument. Whether hes teaching you new techniques, chords and inversions, different styles of playing, or the basics of music theory, the lessons are presented in a way tangible to the student. He is better than any guitar player I've seen, so he can take you to the next level if you are already good, or he can help you as a beginner like me.
I took guitar lessons here for several years and it was great in every way! James is an amazing teacher and person. We're still friends to this day and remain in contact! He's very inspiring and motivational, and will tremendously help you regardless of your skill level. He is a true professional and a true master of his art! No one better!
We found Sid on Thumbtack and he has been giving guitar lessons to myself and my two kids for last 18 months. He is super great with the kids and an awesome teacher. Would highly recommend.
Summer is an amazing theory teacher in so many ways! She's incredibly professional, patient, intuitive, and understanding and has the ability to teach to your personal learning style. Loved every minute of working with her, and it's helped advance my own understanding of music, both with guitar and singing, in a way that has allowed me to make leaps and bounds in my own songwriting as well as learning other music styles. Hire her, right this very minute!
JuneApril 28, 2011 First, let me preface the following by stating that I am an adult student 55 plus. I have been taking lessons at Esthers Piano Study for nearly a year. My start point was that of a novice .a newbie. I did not know a dot from a musical note, but wanting to play the piano was and still is a lifelong desire. She has brought me from a newbie to being able to sit comfortably at the bench and play some late intermediate literature in less than a year. I truly have progressed a very long way in a short time with her guidance. Esther is filled with enthusiasm, constancy in patience, persistence and can intuitively gauge the tempo of the lessons. She teaches with determination to draw upon all the beauty and color from my fingers that is possible.
Beginner electric bass guitar lessons, 1 hour per week, at Rancho Canyon Music. I have been taking lessons with Lou for two months. Lou is an experienced, knowledgeable, and patient instructor. Additionally, he is personable and has a good sense of humor which makes the lessons fun. Lou finds ways to easily relate a theory or technique to you in everyday terms. He is a formally trained musician who performs regularly for audiences. His training and regular performing, coupled with his teaching techniques makes him my first choice for music instruction. Lou arrives on time and is ready begin working with you, evidence he values your time as well. Lou goes above and beyond for his students by providing in class resources, useful online content, and instructional online videos. All of which I have found helpful and not readily found in other music instructors. Lou can quickly analyze what is happening and provide you with helpful input to help you understand and improve. It is clear to me Lou understands the teaching process. He explains things in a logical order, using building blocks of learning. I would highly recommend Lou to all of my family and friends. An hour lesson is filled with easily digestible information and practical application. My understanding and enjoyment of playing my bass guitar has been energized working with Lou.
I have been taking guitar lessons from Kimberly via Skype for about six years. I really like her teaching style which is systematic and focused. She tailors her lessons to my goals and time. Her teaching method is to help you gain insight and skill through patient practice of gradually changing exercises. She doesn't snow you with theory, but presents it to you in digestible amounts just when it will make sense. She welcomes questions and I always learn from our discussions. She has led me to learn techniques on the guitar that I was absolutely sure I could never learn. For something to seem impossible at the start, to seem possible a week later and to be routine a month later is amazingly uplifting. Kimberly's background was first a life of teaching herself and playing gigs with all kinds of bands in all kinds of places. She has also deepened and strengthened her knowledge by gaining academic degrees in guitar and jazz and also by studying under masters. This gives her an incredibly deep understanding of learning and teaching music, an immense skill in playing guitar, and an appreciation for the challenges of playing with other people. I especially love her continued enthusiasm for guitar and that she really enjoys teaching. I have found in Kimberly the best of teachers and highly recommend her without reservation.
I am a retired high school teacher and have decided to take up the piano. I had my first lesson with Sharon. She is an excellent teacher! She is very patient and very enthusiastic! Both of which I am very grateful for, as I am a slow learner! Needless to say, she is extremely knowledgable about music, piano and theory. I would very highly recommend her for all levels of piano study for either the adult or child learner! I look forward to many more lessons with her!
We have a child diagnosed with slight autism. We decided to get a private teacher at home due to the experience of a teacher bullying him in a music school located in Chino. Mr. Garcia has all the patience in teaching our son and he knows how to adjust his teaching lessons with him. Our son is always excited to get music lessons with him. Mr. Garcia is also teaching our 18 y/o daughter guitar. And she is always happy and contented with his teaching techniques. Thank you for doing a great job with my children.
Jimmy is a great teacher and I am learning a ton from him. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in guitar lessons and he is great with beginners like me!
My 8 year old son just started taking piano lessons a little over a month ago. He LOVES it!! Mark is an amazing teacher who arrives to our house on time every time! He works around our schedule. My son askes a ton of questions during the lesson and Mark answers all of them with patience, understanding, and professionalism. I never have to ask my son to practice the piano because he truly enjoys playing and looks forward to his lessons each week. This love of leaning the piano truly came from Mark. So thank you for making this such a fun positive adventure for my son!!
Glenn brings a ton of energy to every session, making it easy to get enthusiastic about learning. He emphasizes a well rounded approach, and I've learned everything from music theory to metal guitar riffs, to how to properly upgrade a guitar's hardware. I am always skeptical about a "perfect" rating, but he is the real deal, and he deserves it.
Linda has been my son's private cello teacher for many years. With her help he jumped straight into the advanced chamber orchestra at high school as a freshman. We recently added music theory to his regular weekly lessons and as a result his grade for his AP music theory class at the high school is a 99.5%. Here's hoping for a 5 on his AP test!
At the age of 9 my son Julian started to take group guitar lessons from Pat. After that session I ask Pat if he does private lessons, he said yes but its at La Puente. So from Chino Hills I took my son to La Puente every Saturday for the next 5 years. He is very good with kids and I highly recommend him. My son now 18 enjoys writing songs & performing.
Karen teaches a progressive system that gives you the tools and foundation to sing well. Method includes music reading and theory, correct breathing, harmony, and using different music styles to continuously help a student improve and use their voice correctly.
Great guitar instructor who teaches you notes, different strumming techniques, picking, how to read music and is a wealth of knowledge on music of all kinds and is very personal and will adjust to what you would like to learn. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone wanting to learn guitar or master it.
My granddaughter takes piano lessons and she loves them, but she loves Marguerite more. When the kids are little they get bored very quickly but Marguerite has a way with keeping their interest and making playing the piano fun. She is a warm and lovely woman and just so talented
I searched Thumbtack to get piano lessons for a friend since I have an account already and I knew someone else who found a piano teacher through Thumbtack. Evan is a professional young man who knows how to communicate effectively and compassionately. Knowledgable, too! Even though he charges a bit more than his competitors, he's worth every penny. I'd recommend him to anyone.
Aurther is an amazing teacher. He is so passionate with Guitar and Music. Also he is so patient to explain any questions that I ask even after several times. I learn a lot from him not only knowing how to play Guitar but learning music theory as well. I highly recommend him to you.
Bobby John is a great teacher. He was able to recognize my intermediate skill level and appropriately design lessons tailored to my ability. We are currently working on multiple strum / picking patters as well as some theory working toward a goal of learning Jazz and Blues guitar. His unique teaching style is great because it is both fun and rewarding.
