I have worked with Lois for the past three month, and she is just AMAZING. I have learned so much from her about public speaking, interview techniques and accent reduction. I am now much more confident about my English and presentation stills. She did an absolutely fantastic job on editing my resume and personal statements. Unlike online editing services (which just correct grammar and punctuation mistakes and typos), she spent time to know my vision and what I really wanted to express. The end results were impressive pieces that were personal and really made me stand out. Lois is intelligent, delightful and inspirational, and I truly enjoy her teaching. I especially love her homemade iced tea in this hot summer. I strongly recommend Lois for her lessons and will definitely continue working with her!

Joyee Lin of Thinque has been nothing short of amazing. Professional with results to show. My daughter started working with Joyee a couple of months ago. Within six lessons, my daughter's composite ACT score went from a 28 prior to working with Joyee to a 32. Amazingly, her science score went from a 25 to a 32. Those numbers are the end result of Joyee's professional approach to teaching. During the lesson, Joyee utilizes a number of methods to present the material. It must be said that my daughter took his instruction seriously and worked hard on the material which was provided to her. The result was a good example of team work in which my daughter could receive, in addition to immediate instruction, quick review and understanding after working through the material. Joyee makes it easy to work around a busy lifestyle as he schedules and responds to correspondence promptly. We can't offer him enough praise. Joyee is offering an amazing service and we were so glad to have been referred to him.

Nuria Fortier was my Spanish teacher for fall 2014 through the International Language School for Children and Adults. I am an adult, beginner level spanish language student with some previous beginner coursework. Our Saturday morning one-hour classes are held at Pitzer College and ran from September through December into January. I am very impressed with Nuria's language instruction. She meets the students where he/she is in their learning, yet also helps you to challenge yourself (for example speaking as much as possible in Spanish during lesson). She stresses the importance of grammar and verb conjugation structures within conversational Spanish lesson. She constructs lessons so that we come into contact with verbs and then we address the conjugation. She recommended two very good books for beginner level that we use during the lesson, and also introduces fun story reading (at children's level which is actually very good for beginner adult learner). Nuria is very professional and reliable, and encouraging for an adult language learner! Nothing negative to report. Nuria has also created a local Spanish speaking group of current and former students who meet to practice Spanish and I am looking forward to joining this group. Thank you Nuria! I recommend ILSCA and Nuria Fortier for Spanish language. Her Children's programs are also very well attended.

Great Teacher I have just started from a very basic understanding and Peggy quickly adapts the level to meet yours, while at the same time demands your full focus and intensity to learn as much as possible during the lessons. Fantastic so far, would recommend to anyone.

Miss Marguerite is a great piano teacher. She approaches her music lessons through a variety of techniques and methods that always keeps our daughter engaged. She teaches her music theory, music appreciation, rhythm, play by ear and the ability to read music. She differentiates the needs of each of her students and taps into their styles and preferences. Our daughter has learned a lot under her tutelage.

My 10th grade daughter had a wonderful Tutisto tutor, Paulina, for Math Analysis (pre-calculus). My daughter attends a highly-rated charter high school but we opted for her to take online Math Analysis via Laurel Springs under Paulina’s guidance. My daughter looked forward to her weekly 1.5 hour sessions with Paulina. If she had questions during the week, my daughter would text Paulina who responded immediately. Paulina kept me informed of my daughter’s progress throughout the year. Paulina is exceptionally organized, responsive, smart, patient and communicative. We are very grateful to have found her through a friend and will continue to have her tutor Calculus next year to augment the high school teacher’s lessons. My only regret is that we didn’t find Paulina earlier, as we would have hired her to help my daughter learn geometry in 8th grade!

Ms. O'Brien has been teaching Spanish to my sons for the past 12 months. Ms. O'Brien is a tremendous professional who always comes well prepared with daily lessons. She also makes the learning process fun by incorporating relevant everyday-life topics into her lesson plans. My sons enjoy their time with Ms. O'Brien, and more importantly, are learning a great deal of Spanish. I highly recommend Ms. O'Brien.

I have a Ph.D. from UCLA in film and television. I have taught college-level courses on cinema studies. I am also an experienced language tutor in English, Hungarian, and Norwegian. I currently work as a docent, that is, a volunteer teacher at the Getty offering educational tours for school children and adults from all over the world.

    About

I am a graduate of UCLA who has drawn and played piano for over 2 decades. I have a degree in English and can assist with the following: English/literature, mathematics up to calculus, music theory, piano (beginning to advanced), and drawing. I love working with kids and adults alike.

    About

I'm available to tutor ASL (sign language class). I am hearing impaired myself, so I was raised around the deaf culture. I'd be more than glad to help you make with this an incredible experience.

    About

I am a high school bilingual student. My first language is Spanish. I major in English, and I could help you learn either English or Spanish.

    About

I grew up part of my life in Los Angeles, California, and the other part in Merida Yucatan in Mexico. I have taught Spanish both to retirees living in Mexico from United States and Europe and in the United States. This is a side job I do about 8 to 10 hours per week. I am completely fluent in both English and Spanish. I am self-taught in Spanish, and although I am fluent now, when I was young, I had to figure the language out for myself. This gives me an edge that native Spanish speakers don't have. I have always gotten a lot of good feedback from everyone I have tutored in Spanish, and I hope to work with you in the near future!

    About

I tutor English -- reading, writing, and conversation. I was born in the US, attended and completed all schooling in the States and majored in business and minored in communication. Past employment includes management positions within the entertainment industry and sales and taught and tutored students of all ages. I have excellent leadership, organizational and training skills.
