I recommend him without any reservation. I chose him because he was the only person who established qualifications to teach what I wanted to learn, which was counterpoint (music theory). He takes his teaching responsibility very seriously, preparing a lesson plan and conducing extensive research to find good teaching materials each time, which makes his teaching very effective. He is also very attentive, responding to my e-mail inquiries immediately. He also understands that I need to learn theory in order to enhance my musicality and tailors the lesson in this direction, instead of going over theories in a dry intellectual manner. So, I can tell that you will learn how to make music, not just following notes if you take instrumental lessons with him, too.

Lessons are structured really well with some warm up exercises, sheet/sight reading, then learning new chords and scale techniques. He genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his students, and goes above and beyond to get the student excited about the instrument. He is patient and willing to dedicate his time in teaching the student anything they wish to learn, whether it be theory, reading music or just to play a few songs for fun.
