    Landa Voice & Acting Studios

    (9 reviews)

I'm a professional Hollywood acting coach, actress, screenwriter, producer and a vocal coach with over 15 years of experience. I have worked with great actors, producers, writers and directors. I have a degree from a top Musical Theatre school, and have appeared in many films, commercials and became a successful actress and artist. I'm bringing my classes to Greenwich, CT from Los Angeles, because I want to share my knowledge of how the film industry really works. I will be starting group classes in the beginning of February, and I will teach audition technique on camera, commercial technique, cold reading and voice & speech. The groups will contain of maximum 12 students, and will be 3 hours long once a week. With easy-to-learn vocal technique activities, singing breathing exercises and a liberated singing mindset, you can learn how your emotions and singing are linked together and how you can get rid of tension and voice problems such as a hoarse throat, nasal singing, singing pitch problems or swollen vocal cords. I will show you how to use your breath and we will be doing some vocal exercises together which will help you to open up your voice, before we start singing and working on a song that you have picked.

    Maria Elena Altany - Soprano

    (5 reviews)

I'm a professional opera singer who also performs gospel, musical theatre, pop and jazz. I have a Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance, and I've been teaching private voice lessons in the Los Angeles area for 5 years. I am a regular guest voice coach and clinician for choirs in the Walnut Valley School District, and have been the Music Director for the Diamond Bar High School productions of Sondheim's Into The Woods and Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance. As a professional singer, I’ve sung with LA Opera, The Industry LA, Pacific Opera Project, New Orleans Opera and many others. My goal is always to teach good musicianship and healthy vocalism founded on strong breath technique. My students range in age from 11 to 60, and pursue a wide variety of musical styles. In every style of music, I seek to bring out my student's unique sound, and help them get maximum range, resonance and flexibility with ease. I specialize in helping my students overcome their audition and performance anxiety, drawing on methods derived from renowned sports psychologists, and my own experiences from performing for almost 20 years. I teach my students how to present themselves to their best advantage, and how to look and act professional from the audition room to the stage. The most joyful part of teaching for me is encouraging my students to love and appreciate music even more than they already do. I am passionate about singing as communication, and make sure my students fully understand the music they sing, and connect to it as much as possible. I find that this not only makes them better performers, but makes practice and performance much more meaningful for each student.

    Express Yourself with Music

    (3 reviews)

I customize my lessons for each student. Especially since there's nothing better than singing and/or playing your favorite songs, I encourage my students to chose the songs they want to work on. Many of my students are songwriters, so I help them with arrangements or perhaps to develop an idea. I really aim to encourage my students to explore and express what music and sound quality feels genuine and unique to them. I love teaching music - I love talking about music, and I love watching my student's eyes and spirits light up when they 'get it' and when they can 'feel it.'

    Sharon's Private Lessons

    (2 reviews)

I have taken lessons in the past from teachers and have seen teaching techniques, but I think something that makes me different is the way I can connect with the student on a relational level. I love getting to know the student and finding out who they are, especially with kids. I truly care about my students and their lives and their parents and families. I try to offer a kind, caring, encouraging and peaceful environment with lots of fun. I love making the lessons fun and challenging at the same time. 1. I love the relational aspect. I am a people person and love getting to know people. 2. I love music and helping students enjoy music 3. I love when students see their own progress and are encouraged ..especially if certain things seem to be really challenging and they conquer something that was hard for them. These things are different for each student.

  • West Los Angeles Voice Studio

    (57 reviews)

Are you interested in really truly learning how your voice works? Interested in how to sing better than you ever thought possible? How to increase your range and remove any discomfort or fatigue while using your voice? Are vocal concepts confusing or vague and you just want to have a clear understanding of how it all works? Ask Griffith for a free trail lesson and he can answer all of these questions for you. Griffith Frank is the current voice teacher for the Lee Strasberg Institute of Film and Television in West Hollywood, a voice teacher for the National Children's Choir, teacher for the Abby Lee Dance Studio in Los Angeles, a featured instructor on the Lifetime Channel's show Dance Mom's and has taught masterclasses and private lesson all over Los Angeles for the past eight years. He is a top pro on Thumbtack and was recently featured on the "How To Sing like a Pro" video which is a great introduction for anyone looking to get into singing. For any style of music and any level, the voice must be properly trained and strengthened to be used healthfully and beautifully. Through his experience as both a singer himself and the pedagogy learned and taught through the years, Griffith bases his approach to teaching on the principles of Garcian and old school Italian voice exercises and concepts that very few teachers know, combined with Alexander technique and an actual understanding of Popular music in today's industry. Very few teachers can apply their concept to the real music world as it's happening today. Those who work with Griffith love his personal, relatable, and technical approach to singing. His primary focus is to help the singer find their unique sound; a sound that cannot be imitated or learned by trying to just sound good. One's true voice can only be found with a strong understanding of the how the body works internally, strengthening and releasing of all the necessary vocal muscles, and a deep emotional connection to the song that is being performed. Clients of Griffith's include Kendell Vertes (Dance Moms), Mahogany Lox, Anna Golja (Degrassi), Max Ehrich (The Young and the Restless), Jenna Leigh Hall (Pregnancy Pact), Kristen Li (Powerpuff Girls, Monster's University), Mozart Dee, Audrey Napoleon, Jojo Siwa, Hayley Solano, Matt Davis, Kelly Heyer (Raising Hope), Mackenzie Sol, Michael Medrano, Wiley Hodgens (Chevy Metal), and many many more. Griffith is a graduate of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and has studied extensively with Vocal Masters such as Vladimir Chernov, Seth Riggs, Elizabeth Howard, Juliana Gondek, Michael Dean, Jean-Louis Rodrigue, Calvin Remsberg, and many many more. I enjoys helping my clients discover the voice they either want to have or have always known they have. I also enjoy giving my clients the technical edge to understand how to create even deeper results and longevity to the art they create. Ever heard a singer with a voice that gave you chills, touched your heart, and you wanted to learn how to do that yourself? I can help you discover that voice for yourself. Take it from me, when I first learned the physiology and psychology behind the workings of the voice, I knew I had to share it with the world. There is no greater joy for me than hearing people's voices change in my lessons, and seeing their expression when they realize their improvement. Can't wait to work with you!
