About

I came to Jennifer looking for help on basic singing lessons. During the short term I have worked with her I found her to be engaging, helpful, patient and good-natured. Jennifer is an excellent instructor as well as a terrific performer in her own right. I consider her a "rock star ".

About

Griffith Frank is wonderful teacher – compassionate yet demanding – he doesn’t let me give up. I came to him with some bad habits stemming from lack of proper training and lack of confidence. He explains until I understand the concept in my mind and body and can properly execute the technique / exercise. I look forward to my lessons and singing him my songs (with emotion, of course). I am making great strides with Griffith , and my confidence is blossoming.

About

I graduated with a degree in theatre and have always wanted to sing. I've toured with my dad and have taken voice lessons with many teachers over the years. Rickie Gole is the teacher I have been looking for my whole life. When I first tried her class all I knew about her was that her students (who I went to school with) were always getting cast and hired. They had beautiful voices and I wanted so badly to sing like them. Since taking lessons with her for about a month now I have discovered something else. I am finding a new voice that is completely mine. I leave her classes more confident, happier, and freer. My biggest obstacle so far is trying not to get emotional because my voice is shocking me. It's how I've always wanted to sing and never believed I could. I completely don't recognize it. Her genuinely warm and encouraging presence makes me unafraid to make mistakes and try new things and because of that I'm singing like I never have in my life. Thank you Rickie.

Marquita is such a joy to work with. I always looked forward to going to the lesson. I've been singing for a long time and Marquita has helped me to understand breathing exercises on a very deep and profound level. My confidence as a singer is getting stronger but not only as a singer as a human being too! Thank you so much Marquita.

About

I worked with Kevin for over 2 years during my time at AMDA Los Angeles, and would have worked with him for the entire 3 years that I was there if I had to option to. Kevin is an extremely knowledgable vocal coach and it was an extremely beneficial experience. In vocal lessons, sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest only because they were communicated in a confusing way, but Kevin taught his lessons in very relatable terms and made sure I understood exactly what he meant before we moved on. He also paid attention to my strengths and weaknesses, catering to each equally. For example, he knew that I learned music very quickly and kept me motivated by giving me new songs to work on, while still focusing on my vocal weaknesses and never getting impatient if I was having difficulty. It was a true honor to work with such a patient, caring and knowledgable vocal coach, and if I ever come back to LA, I will be contacting him for more lessons. He was my voice teacher as well as my mentor during school, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking a voice teacher.

Natalia helped me get to know my voice and gave me the confidence I needed to go on my acting auditions that required singing! Such a great teacher! We worked out of her home studio in Hollywood. Super convenient. I only went to 3 or 4 lessons because my schedule got crazy. But when I return to singing lessons- it'll definitely be with her!

I have taken voice lessons with Dena Murray myself, as well as observed her work with many other students. Dena is a wonderful teacher who combines technical mastery of her subject with natural intuition to help students overcome any obstacles. Highly recommended!

About

I teach singing to all interested people, regardless of age or experience, but I specialize in clients over 55 years of age.. Do not fear that you are not good enough. You are good enough; you are a singer, and the fact that you are considering lessons shows that you care enough to explore your voice. In this environment, there is no judgment, no destructive criticism, and no competition or negative comparison. To adapt a phrase I learned at my church, "whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on your journey of song, you are welcome in this place." Every person has a unique voice, and we, as performers and teachers, need to respect that. The great tenor Caruso once said, "We teach ourselves to sing with the aid of a competent teacher;" it is not great, not wise, and not charismatic but simply competent. The responsibility is yours to uncover your true voice, to really listen to what your body is telling you, and to strive to turn off that inner voice, or "the committee", as I call it, telling you that you're no good, that note was flat, who do you think you are, you have no business here, etc. Remember, as a singer, you are your instrument: all of you, not just that 3/8" piece of soft tissue lodged in your larynx. I will give you the tools to express yourself through singing in ways that will amaze you. My studio includes a 6.5' grand piano keyboard, mike setup and digital CD recording capability.

About

I've worked with Mary Beth for the past 5+ years. I started at her studio with voice lessons and a few years ago I learned to accompany my voice with piano lessons. Mary Beth has helped me develop my voice from one with potential talent to one that is skilled, refined, and confident, and not to mention she has taught me excellent piano playing. They don't get better than Mary Beth.

About

Terri is the most genuine and encouraging teacher that I have met. She will go to lengths and depths to draw you out of yourself and find your voice. She is one of the rare people who believes, really believes, that we all have one, a voice, hidden somewhere under the tension and anxiety that stop it up sometimes. I have recommended her to friends and to family and have even paid for lessons for others as gifts because the gift of singing, is to me, the best-- and she did for me, what no other teacher could do. She made me believe I could, and I did.

About

I started taking lessons with EBD in January to take a few singing lessons. It was my first time actually having a teacher after 5 years on my own. I had Tash as my instructor and she was great! Very friendly and nice. She was encouraging as well and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to make sure they aren't hurting their voice or wanting to build confidence. The owner is JJ. He is a great guy and very professional. He will work with your schedule and is always available to call if you have questions. He quickly went over his background and you can tell his passion about what he does. He specializes in the dj lesson and I would recommend him as I also took a basic lesson for rhythm and counting beats! The good thing about EBD is its like a university for music classes that makes it so easy to work with the teachers. You actually build a relationship with these people and often end up staying and having a conversation about the day after. For what they teach they really are the best in Los Angeles. Thanks for the lessons!

Orly is a great teacher! She's easygoing but very attentive, good at pinpointing areas for improvement and clearly explaining how to improve technique. She also emphasizes the importance of finding your own natural voice/personality, which I really appreciate. Lessons with Orly are always encouraging, educational, and FUN!

About

Noah was a great singing teacher. He really draws from his experience which seems to make it easy for him to analyze what you're doing, how you're doing it, and how it can improve. The environment was professional and stress free. He gave me tools and taught me concepts that helped improve my singing voice during that very first day of class. I'm now confident enough to sing in front of crowds because of the tutelage and confidence Noah has given me. I also have techniques that I can work on on my own to continue improving. I recommend him, and I plan on going back for more!

I am starting to produce electronic music, and I came to Weslie for singing lessons so that I would have the confidence to sing on my tracks myself. I have had one lesson with her so far and I really enjoyed it. She started by asking me some questions to assess what my goals were and what my experience was. While I play piano and produce music, I've never had any formal singing training, so she walked through all the vocal exercises and breathing drills step by step, explaining why each step was important for creating the best sound. Weslie is incredibly knowledgable and patient, with the perfect dose of encouragement. I look forward to working with Weslie on developing my instrument and personal style!

Anna is great. I'm just starting out brand new and she really takes the time to make sure the exercises make sense to you. She hones in on the things you aren't strong in and spends extra time on that. Her space is great and very relaxing making it easy to connect with your body. I highly recommend Anna for lessons. I am very excited to continue learning with her.

I have had one lesson so far with Janet. She has great energy and is very good at narrowing down and finding what to work on based on the level of the student. I am very excited and look forward to our next lessons. Janet in just one lesson has helped me tremendously. It's mainly her coaching ability that allows me to be vulnerable and make mistakes that she can help me correct.

About

I am a music educator with 6 years of experience teaching private vocal lessons as well as elementary school music programs. I love helping people to realize the potential of their voice, and I make sure to keep things fun and welcoming. The connections that I have made with my students and their families have been so rewarding and long lasting. Helping students develop confidence and personality through music is what I have dedicated my life to and I would never trade it for anything. I work hard to find a way to explain the mechanics of the voice using language that students will understand at their level. My goal is to help you to master correct vocal technique and have fun while doing it. You will always get to sing the type of music you want to sing in addition to any songs I assign that I feel will will expand your musical knowledge and strengthen your weaknesses. I can also provide help with any audition preparation work you might have (e.g. choirs/theater). If you are also interested in focusing on music theory or self piano accompaniment, please discuss that with me and we can incorporate that into your lessons. I specialize in working with elementary and high school students but welcome college/adult students as well. Your first lesson will be a free trial lesson :)
