This is a talented group of people. Everything was an +A, from the food, down to the service. The staff is fun and professional. The food is packed with flavor and meat was extremely tender. They arrived on time each day and even cleaned our whole kitchen each day. I highly recommend madkins catering!

A big 'Thank You' to Susan and Wild Thyme. I hosted a group of 12 friends for a 'wine sharing' party at my house, and since I don't know what wines my guests will bring, it was important to have a wide variety of tasty bites to nosh on. The Wild Thyme team totally knocked it out of the park with a continuous flow of awesome bites for us, including: charcuterie plate, brisket sliders, roasted brussel sprouts w/ a bacon jam, grilled cheese sandwich wedges (yum!!) and more. One of my favorites was a single shrimp with a citrusy sauce and avocado wedge served in fancy spoon...great presentation and flavor! (paired really well with sauv blanc!) Overall I couldn't be happier with the food, service and fun that Susan and her team provided for us. I highly recommend that you give Wild Thyme a try!
I have to qualify this review first by saying I have worked as a professional cook and have owned a catering business. So I have an eye for and know what works and what doesn't, what can be prepped beforehand without sacrificing quality, and what can be done on sight and off-site with the aim of making sure everything is properly expedited and comes out on time. When I arrived the table was set up nicely set up and decorated. However, we had previously informed Chef that we were going to be 13 and we would like two tables, as some people are uncomfortable with sitting at a table of 13 people. So we had to ask Chef to please separate the two tables. When Bridgette came the day before, my wife mentioned she wanted a table of 6 and one of 7, not two tables pushed together to make 13. There were also no cloth napkins, but paper napkins. I guess assuming that a request for "linens" did not include cloth napkins, only tablecloths. But I digress. Even though this was done in our home where we are well equipped, I still expect anyone coming to prepare food to come fully equipped to meet their needs without having to use the home equipment. This was not the case, as Chef used our Kitchenaid, tongs, and other items. As well, they did not have a serving platter for one of the hors'd'oeuvres. Furthermore, they had to use some of our silverware because they did not bring everything needed (spoons, forks). There were steak knives on the table when we were eating fish, and no other knives. I had no problem with this because, of course, I wanted the event to go smoothly. But other clients might not have been as flexible. Finally, they used all my kitchen towels and had them all wet, from I don't know what- but it's easy enough to bring your own hand towels. As well, because we used the plates on the table for hors'd'ouevres, they had to wash and prepare again for salad plates, as they had expected the hors'd'oeuvres to simply be finger food. Nonetheless, the hors'd'oeuvres-asparagus with prosciutto and chicken bites, or whatever they might have been-still require plates. This delayed serving. More forethought should have been given to how this was all going to go down. Personally, I would have brought the salad all prepped. Because it wasn't prepped, it meant a longer serving delay. The server didn't know the difference between wine and water glasses-some basic protocol needed. The food was excellent and I had several very positive compliments from the guests, this is where they shined, and it was served hot and fresh like it should be. We had a delicious shaved fennel salad with parmesan, and a main course of Blackened Sea Bass with a succotash and roasted potatoes. That is the beauty of preparing on-site. I say this with the caveat, as mentioned earlier, that a few things could have been prepped beforehand without sacrificing quality. This would have allowed the service to flow more quickly and not have such long delays between dishes. As Chef prepared the chocolate mousse on site, some people had to leave before dessert since it took well over 45 minutes between our main course and dessert. While we had agreed that I would supply the chocolate, it I had known it was going to take chef so long to prepare it, I would have suggested it be made beforehand. If I had done this lunch, I would have brought the mousse pre-made. They used up my whole bag of ice too-I would have brought ice. Finally, food left over was taken away and not left with us. I asked the server I f she was going to leave the food to me as she was walking out and she laughed uncomfortably and said no. My assumption is that the client paid for the food, they should get any leftovers. I give Kudos to the Chef for excellent food, but the service was uncomfortably slow and everyone noticed. Finally, the server was inexperienced. Overall, organization and attention to details were lacking. To end on a positive note, they did an excellent job leaving the kitchen just as the found it and were friendly and professional despite the hiccups mentioned. I didn't have to worry about anything. If you are looking for good food, Chef Mumsie does a great job. But please ask that they send you experienced servers, and make sure to point out every possible detail that you can think of, because in my experience, they did not have a checklist or form to check off what you do or don't need for an event.
Rich and his staff did a fabulous job hosting my birthday party . . first thunderstorm in 126 years! . .No kidding so we quickly went to Plan B and Rich adapted like a professional. My Party would not have been the same without him and his cordial staff. He was gracious; kind; and funny with our guests. .Food was excellent . .Will hire him again and recommend his services.
We were very happy with the food and service room Aioli. Catering our family event made everything run smoothly, and gave me the opportunity to mingle and visit with our guests. The food was delicious, and delivered and set up on time. I would highly recommend Aioli.

I used 'drop off' service, everything was perfect! Fantastic catering by Keith for a summer party I organized for my 89 year old mother. He and staff were right on time, plated everything on beautiful serving dishes, and set up everything. Food was terrific, got lots of compliments. Recommend highly.
We hired Amy to make cocktails and lots of appetizers for my friends bachelorette party. It was such an amazing experience and her food was delicious. She started out with cocktails first which are to die for. She made about 7 different apps which all were amazing! I think her meatballs, salad and turkey sliders were my favorite. We ended up having so much fun with Amy and it was like she was part of our crew. She cleaned everything after and left the house probably cleaner than it was to begin with. We are already planning our next event to have her come back for.

We loved the level of service and the food was amazing! Our guests loved every course. The chef used fresh ingredients and each dish was deliciously prepared and well presented. The entire staff created a wonderful experience for us and our guests. They were professional, courteous, friendly, very accommodating, and completely self-sufficient. We didn't have to lift a finger. Even the planning stage was made easy. Bill was extremely responsive, very professional, and reliable. They were reasonabley priced, as well. I would highly recommend them.
I hired Diane to cook a multi-course meal in the comfort of our home in order to surprise my husband for Valentines Day. We agreed upon a menu, a time, a price and we were good to go. On the day of we corresponded a bit and she offered some of her personal items to help decorate for the special night which was above and beyond. I didn't need them but I did appreciate the offer. Diane is friendly, responsive and the food she made was DIVINE! Part of our meal included cream corn and French onion soup, both my husbands favorites. He loved both items. We were so full, we couldn't even eat the dessert we had planned for the evening. My husband said one more bite and he would have exploded. Diane was efficient in the kitchen, we were able to see the flambé for the steak from the dining room where we were enjoying our salad. She served the meal and cleaned up as each course went along. It was a new experience for both of us and it ended up being a very special evening.
Valerie prepared a wonderful dinner on Saturday and our guests had nothing but praise for her amazing food and service she provided. She made quite an impression on all of us and we won't forget the wonderful tastes and presentation she prepared for us. I will certainly hire Valerie again for a great culinary experience.
Exceptional service! Food was amazing...shredded chicken and pork, the best cole slaw and macaroni salad I have had in awhile...everyone was very pleased. Servers were also wonderful! Guests really enjoyed the interaction with the staff, as well as the food. Definitely two thumbs up. Will use again!

We hired Island Soul for our mothers celebration of life party a week before the event. Luckily they were able to accommodate us on such short notice! Everyone at our event LOVED their food, and their speciality (pork belly) was to die for. They were so sweet and professional. We will be hiring them any time we need catering. I was responsible for booking food for my parents' intimate anniversary dinner. Of course, I ended up waiting until last minute and was extremely nervous to hire someone new. I'm so lucky to have been introduced to AJ! He was available on short notice, suggested the perfect menu, and gave me a great quote. The dinner was a success! Everyone loved the food, and my family has continued to work with AJ since.
Chef Steve did an amazing job preparing a luncheon at my home in Laguna Beach for 50 people. . The portions were large and scrumptious with lots of leftovers. I would definitely recommend him and will use his service again. Thanks Steve for a job well done.
