Stephan was a joy. The tuning went smoothly and I had my first piano lesson immediately following it. His breadth of knowledge is very impressive and his sensitivity to the gaps in mine made me feel very comfortable and helped with my own particular learning curve. I would highly recommend Stephan as a tuner and a teacher...

I requested singing lessons and received 6 quotes rangers big from $36/hr to $100/hr. I eliminated 3 of them just based on the message they wrote to me and their reviews or lack there of. My passion is indie rock and Jan does not fit the profile of a rocker and she was vocally trained as an opera singer. However, her reviews were positive, she was priced in the middle, her message to me was pertinent and once I called and spoke to her I was sold. I didn't bother contacting the other two quotes I was interested in. Needless to say, my hunch was right and I had my first lesson last week. It went incredibly well. She amazed me. I am a song writer wanting to improve my vocals so I can work indecent from hiring a singer. I showed he some of my recorded originals and within seconds she knew what I had to improve to make my voice fit the song better. We changed the key a whole step, she had me pronounce some of the words differently and she gave input in to what could improve for the song instrumentally. She started showing me current artists and what I could take from their particular songs to inspire some rhythmic changes. she had suggestions on where to go and present my music to sale for commercial/tv/advertising. She had big picture advice on where to focus my energies. I couldn't believe what we packed in to a one hour rehearsal. She sat at her piano and taught me vocal exercises and explained to me how I could improve on them with what I call tricks to break certain bad habits I have formed. I can't wait to see her next week. She can totally rock!!!

For the vocal lessons, I learned how to use my diaphragm, also I’m learning different styles of singing with my voice. I can now use my voice to go to alto and to mezzo soprano to soprano. I always try to practice my vocal exercises she gives me and the songs that we work on in the lessons. The exercizes are helping my technique improve daily. April is a teacher that pushes you to practice and work hard to be a strong singer. She pushes me but I’m improving at the same time. I feel she wants me to be successful as a singer. She makes me feel like I can do it!

I am 57 years old (no Spring chicken) and came to Thomas for tenor sax lessons. My purpose is to perform and record sax solos for classic rock and blues. Thomas does a great job with understanding my goals and giving me a road map to achieve them. Very patient and intuitive.

We have had the pleasure of taking piano lessons from Wendy since 2009 and are still going strong. I have seen my two children flourish under her. She tailors each lesson and makes learning fun. Very positive, with just the right amount of pressure so that they progress but still enjoy what they are doing.

I had lessons with Zeth for a while and 1st of all he’s super nice and honestly a super nice guy who’s great at teaching 2nd of all he makes the lessons super meaningful ( I was his drum student ) and we worked from the minute he got there to the end of the lessons, and the time flew because the lessons were so fun but taught me so much too. thirdly the way he taught me was amazing and if anyone’s reading this and they’re on the fence about taking lessons from zeth, totally do it, they’re meaningful and you’ll learn a lot from him -Thomas

Vic offers a relaxed, non-threatening learning environment. He specializes in adult learning. When I started the piano, I couldn't read a note of music, and Vic started off by explaining proper posture and hand positons, the layout of the keyboard, the purposes of the treble and bass clefs, etc., and also advised me in the appropriate keyboard and equipment for my goals. He is very patient and encouraging and I feel I'm making very good progress in my first six weeks. Vic also alludes to music theory - he has explained that as the lessons progress, we will be discussing theory more in-depth. I'm very pleased with my lessons and even enjoy my practicing (though I'm not sure my neighbors do!!)

My two (2) kids go to this school for Piano Lessons. It's a great school with teachers who care and they even got (ONE) of my kids to actually play correctly and she now likes playing the piano. They are strict but have real concern for the students and offer a great environment to excel. I would recommend Donna Lee and her Music School anytime. A+++++++

I wanted a teacher that could work with an older adult who not had piano lessons since childhood. After many years, I wanted to challenge myself by getting back into piano and I wanted to bring music back into my life. I was a bit nervous about making the commitment and about the time investment that would be required. I also didn’t know a good teacher so I asked around. Howard’s name came up. He was recommended as a patient and knowledgeable teacher that would do wonders with students. Howard’s approach is not the conventional one that I experienced as a child. He presents many types of approaches and uses lots of tools and techniques to build your skills and understanding of the structure of music. Now, I’m stretching myself to learn, remember and apply these skills and it feels really good! I actually enjoy practicing my piano. Now thats a testimony to Howard’s influence! If you are looking for a teacher that can accommodate your needs, encourage and inspire you, meet Howard and try him out. I’m confident that you will be very pleased with him as a professional and as a teacher.

Mrs. Horrocks has exceptional knowledge and expertise as a teacher of classical piano. "Classical" is a word which describes the 18th & 19th centuries music to be characterized by balance, clarity, and moderation (Webster's) It includes expressions as art song, chamber music, opera, and symphony. Since having Mrs. Horrocks as our teacher for 5 children, (which vary in age from 4-14), she has shown them the essence of "classical". It is as she has taken us back to that period of time with her own passion and love for classical piano. Her enthusiasm is contagious and invigorating. She doesn't "just teach" she is filled with a love for the art of it and thrilled to share it with others. I am certain that the classical great composers would applaud her reverence for teaching their pieces. There are many more attributes Mrs. Horrocks contributes other than just teaching piano. She complements her teaching style with incredible intuitive insights for each and every student. She seems to know exactly what is needed to take place in their learning, though they all be different. She chooses pieces to learn which best compliment her student's personalities. (Which is a gift). Clearly, education and solid experience set her apart which she uses powerfully. She is not rote with her instruction and insightfully draws out of her students the beauty of playing. As a mother, I am enormously grateful for her detailed personal attention. Our children are in wonder in their discovery of their inward talents blossoming before their eyes, all because of her care and attention to personal details. She is filled with praise and unfounded encouragement for each student, yet accompanies that with a steadfast seriousness for accuracy. With these complementary techniques she doesn't allow any room for a student to feel that they aren't good enough, aren't trying hard enough, or anything lesser than. But, with an assurance that they are good enough and growing each week. She provides a lovely, private and comfortable studio which accommodates enough room for us all. We are incredibly blessed to have her teach our children. Each of us would without question encourage you to choose Mrs. Horrocks as your first choice, as it will be the only choice needed. You will receive nothing less than everything I have pointed out here. Exceptional learning, solid knowledge and a passion playing this most wonderful instrument.....Piano!
