Andi is a really awesome guitar instructor. I started guitar lessons with him with absolutely no experience playing an instrument or knowing how to read sheet music. But because he is really patient, knowledgeable, and at ease with teaching, I have been able to pick up how to play the guitar and reading the tab handouts he gives me after each lesson. He goes at the students pace and is willing to change his lessons to teach what new songs I want to learn. After each lesson I am always inspired and reminded why I wanted to take up guitar lessons in the first place. Andi was the very first instructor I met and Im glad I did. I could not recommend him highly enough as an instructor.
David Williams has given guitar lessons to our son for many years. We have the highest regard for his teaching and his overall positive influence. David is a highly talented musician and a gifted teacher. Our son has great respect for David's musical knowledge and his thoughtful mentoring--and we do as well. David provides very sound guidance and also works to help students achieve their own specific musical goals. David is a great person and a very fine teacher, and we're pleased to give him our highest recommendation.
Michael is a great music teacher and my kids just love him. My son and daughter take guitar lessons and my granddaughter piano lessons. He is very patient with them. He is encouraging and connects with them on a personal level. He gives them good advice about where to get the best equipment. He will often spend time with them restringing their guitars before a practice. He pulled parts from two old guitars we had and made a guitar for my son. When my son was ready to move up to a better guitar, he found us a great deal on a stratocaster. We have been with Michael for five years and would not think of going to another music teacher.
These were my first voice lessons ever. Lessons are fun. Deborah has lots of helpful advice and encouragement.
I have been taking guitar lessons from Jules for several months and am very happy with how much I have learned. All his lessons have educational purposes and he teaches through fun songs that make practicing enjoyable. He is very professional, knowledgeable and flexible with my schedule. I highly recommend him for beginners and experienced players alike. Susan
Rick is a great guitar teacher at any level. He can teach everything from theory to practical playing and make it fun. I highly recommend him if you want to learn the correct way of playing.
My boys have been taking guitar lessons from Matt for the past year and a half. We could not be happier. Matt has really connected with them and has inspired them. The boys love their weekly lessons and are enthusiastic about practicing between classes to be able to show off for Matt. Matt is a very positive and encouraging teacher. He is very patient with the kids and helps them figure out ways to improve. Matt has been very flexible in his teaching methods and has been able to come up with innovative methods to help my sons learn. I highly recommend Matt.
I have had guitar lessons with John Lewis for two months now and I have to say without a doubt, he has exceeded my expectations in every way. Not only is he a very talented musician, he also possesses a rare talent for communicating and teaching guitar and musical concepts that are sometimes hard to grasp. He is patient, kind, encouraging, inspirational, and very creative in his teaching style. He knows how to judge exactly how much information I can handle at one time and I never leave feeling overwhelmed. He always makes the lessons interesting, challenging, and FUN! I am so grateful to have found this wonderful teacher and I highly recommend him to anyone from beginner to advanced. He truly is the Best of the Best!!!
About Jerry: Jerry knows bass. He knows technique, he knows theory, he knows gear, he knows music history (past and present). Most importantly, he knows how students learn bass and thus he is able to tell you what you need to know and what to practice in oder to improve. My Experience: Jerry immediately found the holes in my technique and gave me a few lessons in bass theory that I hadn't already figured out by trial-and-error and applying theory from other instruments. He gave me exercises to work on to improve my chops and get my playing to a higher technical level. He taught me about the intricacies of the bass instrument and the gear associated in creating bass tone. He gave me songs and bass players to listen to and play along to in order to get the basslines I wrote sounding more mature and appropriate for the style/genre of their songs. And all the while he would immerse me in the culture of bass. Turning me on to the history of the instrument, the evolution of how it has been played through the years, the different styles of playing and how they fit into each genre, and of course the great players of the past and present. His body of knowledge around bass is just staggering. About Me: I'd been playing bass for fun for about 10 years at jams and also for about 6 months in an americana band. I'm also a serious keys player and know my music theory solid. Then I started playing bass in a funk/soul band with more technical players and realized I needed to develop some serious chops to keep up. I chose Jerry because he wasn't a guitar-player teaching bass, he's a died-in-the-wool bass player who had been teaching for years. I wanted a specialist, not someone who was going to teach me basic theory.
Iam a professional Guitarist and have been taking lessons from Bob for a bout 2 months now. I inicially contacted Bob becaused I had reached an impasse with my playing. Within the first couple of lessons I learned to negociate the fret board with more ease and confidence. Bob has a solid foundation in theory as well as teaching the student the pratical application of the theory. I was able to apply the learning material to my playing almost immediately after my lesson. Bob is very patient and takes the time to explain the material so it is well understood before the lessons are over. I highly reccommend Bob to anyone who wants to take their playing to the next level.
great! iv been getting guitar lessons for a year now and i've learned so much about music and about the guitar and have improved so much as a songwriter and musician.
Geoff started giving me guitar lessons 22yrs ago. He's knowledgeable, patient and has mad skills. I've learned a lot and am really glad I learned to play. Thanks Geoff.
Cherie is a great instructor. Before I started lessons with her I was trying to teach myself and found that I’d hit a wall, just wasn’t getting where I wanted to be, she helped me out of that rut. She opened up my options by laying down the basics, then expanded my palette based on where I wanted to go with songs and guitar. She likes to balance what she calls the weigh-lifting of guitar and the fun stuff - exercises and songs. I never felt bored or very frustrated. She pays attention. I really felt she was teaching me what I needed to learn. She also teaches singing lessons and we worked a bit on my vocals during our guitar lessons. Was a nice add-on. She’s a pro and very easy to work with.
Ryan is an excellent teacher. He makes our son’s lessons interesting and relevant. He’s also an excellent communicator — both with parents and students. Our son looks forward to his lesson every week.
The 44th note is an amazing company. My sons guitar lessons were great. He looked forward to the lesson every week. The encouragement he received made him feel good even after the lesson was over. Couldn't of asked for a better teacher. Thank you Jeff for helping my son not only learn the guitar but all feel better about himself.
Conrad was an incredible teacher for my son. Lessons were always fun and he was very patient, allowing my son to learn at his own pace. My son always looked forward to his lessons as the highlight of his week. Conrad is also very good at teaching a variety of styles from rock to jazz. Highest possible recommendation.
I'm creative and cater to my students goals. I am also a Guild Teacher for the national association of piano teachers.
Stefano provides informative and engaging lessons. Guitar lessons are tailored to help reach each student's specific goal, like learning the fundamentals of guitar playing, advanced techniques, or learning a specific style of music like Classical, Pop, Rock, and Blues.
Hi! I've been teaching the guitar for over 20 years and have been playing the guitar for considerably longer than that. Teaching is something I really enjoy doing, and I've helped a lot of players over the years. My approach is pretty simple and straightforward. I know that students' goals and musical tastes vary quite a bit, so I work to personalize lessons and create a good fit between the teaching agenda and where you want to be as a player. I play professionally, and I'm quite comfortable in various musical genres, but probably best suited for guitarists interested in exploring Americana, Blues, Jazz and Rock. I like to use our first lesson together to find out where you are with the guitar and what your goals are. Are you a total beginner; self-taught, but need some pointers and clarification; wanting some music theory to strengthen your playing foundation; or wanting to learn to improvise and create interesting solos? Let's create an approach to the guitar that is relevant and comfortable for you so that you can get some immediate gains where you want them. All you need is a guitar and a strong desire to become a better player. Lessons are taught from my home studio in Noe Valley, and I have some immediate openings in my teaching schedule. Thanks, and hope to hear from you!
I am a musician, composer and a guitarist of nearly 20 years. I can offer instruction and guidance on nearly any angle of guitar playing, from basic chords to scales to more advanced techniques, whether its getting the right tone you want or how to emulate certain sounds and styles. Electric guitar technique. Ambient. Indie. Folk. Rock. Metal. How to get the tone you want from your guitar, amp and pedals. How to build stamina on your acoustic. "How you do anything is how you do everything." This is the idea I like to encourage with my students. I try and help you connect your heart and your ambitions to every note you play.
My name is Raziel, and I'm a guitar teacher in the city of San Francisco. I've been playing for more than 10 years and graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where I studied classical guitar with the world-renowned Sergio Assad. Being a classically trained musician gives you such great foundation to teach just about any style, so I'm quite versatile. I'm a young professional in my mid 20s. I'm quite laid back, but I have a hardworking attitude towards providing the best lessons possible. The progression of a student is a direct reflection of my teaching, and I take great pride in my abilities.
