Over the years I have received instruction from Donna through piano lessons and participation in various choirs she has conducted. I am impressed with her knowledge, expertise, kindness, and patience. I am especially thankful for the way I have been instructed to sing so that I do not harm my voice....and in the piano instruction that includes education in the instrument - its history and how it works - and arm and hand technique when playing.

This is simply piano! Everyone can play piano, and I can teach you how to play Amazing Grace in less than 5 minutes. I encourage my students to improvise and learn how to use their creativity to play songs. Students will learn how to read music and play songs with sight reading and chord structures.

As a lifelong guitarist who was self taught I decided that I needed to try my hand at a different instrument. I had always wanted to learn the piano so I decided to give it a go. Being a self taught musician, I had lots of bad habits that I took with me to my piano lessons with Stella. She was incredibly patient with me and helped me undo decades of bad practice habits along with teaching me good habits to replace them with. Her knowledge of music and her talent on the piano are clearly evident and she knows how to translate that into teaching others, which is an often challenging task. All in all, the lessons were a valuable experience that I would certainly recommended to anyone interested in learning piano.

I started taking piano lessons from Miles a year ago as a total beginner. He's taught me how to read music, play classical music, and even play a few rock and blues songs as well! My favorite part of the lesson is when I get to improvise while Miles plays with me. The lessons are always so fun and inspiring.

Allie is a down to earth, experienced musician and instructor. I feel like she was able to quickly gauge where I was at and start the lessons there. After just a couple of ukelele lessons I understand concepts I hadn't grasped through a previous guitar class or music books. I also love that she includes my curious one year old and lets her explore the instruments.

I have taken piano lessons from Lynn for ten years. She has been the best teacher I could ever imagine. I especially liked how she would mix up the songs that I was learning so I always had a fair mix of classical songs and popular songs. I feel that she really cares about me and my learning. She went above and beyond to constantly be finding music that would both challenge me and interest me.

Amy is a terrific teacher. An outstanding, Curtis-trained musician herself, Amy brings the exacting precision of high level artistry to her pedagogy, but at the same time makes it fun. She is a perfectionist with regard to technique and focuses in with laser precision on flaws in bowing, finger position, wrist flexibility, posture and, of course, the myriad elements of musical interpretation. You really feel like you've gotten a thorough work out by the time it's over, yet she's always cherubic! She also makes it seem like a mutual, adventurous discovery, even though it's all got to be cello 101 for her--which I appreciate since I'm an older student. She happily shares her vast knowledge, spanning all periods of music from the medieval to the post-modern, and has thoughtful insights on musicology, currents in musical development, even theories of tuning. A talented pianist, Amy can accompany on the piano as well, which is a bonus. But when she accompanies you on the cello, she makes even a beginner sound like a pro. She also speaks excellent Italian! Perhaps the greatest compliment I can add after all this is that I bring my daughter for cello lessons with Amy as well. I recommend her to cellists at any level from beginner to pros just needing an intelligent set of ears.

Kelsey is a great teacher. Her style lets me learn the way I am comfortable learning which is intuitively, one-on-one, allowing me to pick some of the music letting me eagerly focus on my specific needs. As an older student and have a particular taste in which music I want to learn while becoming familiar with the Piano as a whole. Her interpersonal skills are great for me, allowing me to trust her pace and knowledge fostering a great relationship as an older student. She even works constantly at learning more about her teaching piano and techniques making an effort to share her expertise and experience with me quelling any concerns I had about being a novice. I find this refreshing, human and encouraging. We do go through the standard nomenclature but at a pace and repetitive way that lets me absorb some of the more difficult concepts. Since I underestimate my own abilities she always finds a way to help me discover that I am more capable and "talented" than I realized by providing realistic goals helping me stretch my abilities and giving me the encouragement and keys to achieve them. I find Kelseys teaching style sparks my enthusiasm because she really enjoys playing the piano also...what a great gift to have.

Jane teaches our two kids piano lessons and they love her. She picks pieces that they want to learn and has realistic expectations for our 8 and 10 year old. She comes to our house, is always on time, and has been a joy!

It would have been nice to have more information about the actual teacher who would be coming to the house. I took it on blind faith that he was a good teacher and a normal person. There was no resume or bio or picture or anything. Turns out, Adam seems great (2 lessons so far). But more info would have been helpful.

Luz is an amazingly creative and inspiring piano teacher. She is exactly what my 6 year old daughter needed to be motivated to play and practice. Luz's approach to teaching beginning piano students is fun and creative, using colors and pictures to make the experience more meaningful; not the traditional, dull approach we experienced with a different teacher. We highly recommend Luz!

Anne is a wonderful piano teacher. She goes out of her way to craft her teaching style to each student, and spends time finding the repertoire that fit my skill and interest. Very easy to get along with, and willing to think through different exercise to best communicate a particular element of the music based on the student's perceptions - which is great because everyone thinks differently and I've had frustratingly rigid teachers in the past. Highly recommend Anne!
