For me the most exciting thing about my experience with Revelation Counseling is that I am in a completely different place than when I started! Coming to revelation counseling has been one of the best decisions I've ever made for my mental, emotional and overall health. I know that the skills I've learned will last beyond the counseling and will help me get closer to my future and my best self.
I really enjoy working with Dana. She listens well, communicates clearly, gives valuable feedback, and provides me with tools to self-reflect outside of our time together. I highly recommended Dana.
Rozanne has excellent communication skills. She offered me empathy, reflection and guidance during our weekly sessions. Most of all, she was encouraging and honest. She taught me how to understand myself and those life challenging obstacles that I used to avoid talking about. She keeps it real and helped me become stronger. I would highly recommend Rozanne if you are truly looking for change within yourself.
As a therapist myself (though not an art therapist), I attended a brief training through my county about art therapy presented by Ellen. Some time later I found myself stuck in my own process and having difficulty shifting it through traditional psychotherapy. I recalled Ellen's presentation and contacted her to see if she would work with me. For the next year, we met weekly. Ellen's integrity , keen sensitivity to my process, depth of knowledge, patience and dedication made for a tender and safe and creative and expansive experience for me. I felt compassionately seen and encouraged as I navigated through one step after another. At our last meeting, she beautifully tied it all together, going through her notes and my art, witnessing with me the path I had made for myself. Since then, I have confidently made referrals to her, and I am sorry she has moved out of the area! I whole-heartedly recommend Ellen as a skilled and compassionate Art Therapist.

She takes a solution-focused approach to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is fulfilling and worth celebrating. She believes that we can't change difficult situations of the past; however, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches, it may take a few sessions to resolve current struggles, or she may use techniques that focus on long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions which could be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Hypnotherapist and have been working in the field of therapy since 1999. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults up to age 80, across a wide range of socio-economic strata. I have helped people with a variety of challenges from depression, anxiety, phobias, behavioral issues, addictions, severe mental illness, and developmentally disabilities, as well as having extensive experience and training working with families. I specialize in supporting people to eradicate their phobias and panic attacks, and to conquer their fears and anxiety. I have over 10 years experience doing so. I am licensed psychotherapist, with additional training in hypnotherapy and NLP. I employ a variety of methods, according to the specific needs of my client. My work with clients is individualized, never cookie-cutter or one-size-fits-all. I respect and work within the context of the individuality of my client’s experiences, outlook, thought-processes, emotional triggers, values, and goals. My practice overall focuses on empowering people to be their best self and to take effective, purposeful actions to have the life they want. I use a genuine, compassionate, eclectic, clinical approach in helping the client according to their individual needs and motivations, focusing towards solutions. In the first visit, I work to get a clear picture of my client’s issues, needs, strengths, and weaknesses. I look for relational, situational, as well as internal, influences affecting the client. I tend to see my clients as complex individuals rather than simplified, textbook diagnoses. My experience as an immigrant, raised in this country from early youth, has also given me insight into the complexities inherent in a multi-cultural existence and has made me more aware of diversity challenges in this society. I also speak Farsi.

People respond very positively to me as a Psychologist. I think several factors contribute to this. I was very blessed to have outstanding training and mentoring throughout my professional development, including receiving a Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia before even entering one of the longest and oldest Counseling Psychology Training Programs at the University of Texas at Austin. So, on one level, I think people appreciate that I am well prepared and "know my stuff." On another level, I had amazing mentoring in forming and maintaining a therapeutic relationship from experts in both Humanistic and Relational Psychodynamic approaches to therapy. So, I also relate well to people, helping them feel safe, understood, and cared for. Together, I think these qualities make me stand out as a Psychologist.

I am committed to working with my clients to facilitate self-awareness which will allow them to make choices that are healthy, empowering and aid them in developing a greater sense of joy and fulfillment in life. I offer psychotherapy to individuals and couples who grapple with a variety of concerns or who wish to use therapy as an avenue for personal growth and greater fulfillment. My approach to healing draws on my view of the body and mind as a dynamic integrated organic system in constant relationship with its environment. As a therapist I am supportive and non-judgmental of your views, lifestyle and aspirations and work to provide a safe, open, nurturing environment in which we can enrich, deepen and expand your experience of life. My approach is holistic, existential-humanistic and body centered. Body centered psychotherapy is a powerful vehicle for deep self awareness and personal growth. It is also particularly useful for working through difficult life transitions and issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, trauma, dissociation and chronic pain.
There are times in everyone's life when we feel that we do not know which way to go, become overwhelmed, or are faced with a major life decision. During these times, it can be difficult to recall your strengths, find a solution, or even create a reasonable path for yourself. It can be greatly beneficial to speak to someone who is able to not only listen and offer support, but also guide you to discover your own solution to your life challenges. I feel that therapy must be flexible in order to facilitate positive change thought out to one's life. Due to this, I practice psychotherapy through a bend of CBT, solution-focused therapy, and extended family systems.
What separates me from many traditional therapists is my informal approach to psychotherapy, which I believe creates a more genuine relationship. My psychotherapy style is not for everybody, so the first three sessions are used for "consultation", which allows me and my clients to determine whether we are a good fit for treatment together.
Everyone has the capability to discover or rediscover his or her true genuine self. In exploring our history, behavior patterns, and the way we communicate, we are better able to understand our past and to create a healthier and more enjoyable future. If you are looking to improve relationships in your life, better understand yourself, and need the guidance and support that you haven’t had from others, I look forward to working with you.
