Shelly herself is an excellent writer, both technical and creative. She knows the rules of conventional English (says the survivor of eight years of Catholic school grammar, syntax, and sentence diagraming!) Even more important to me, as a veteran sixth grade teacher who has watched her as a parent-volunteer writing teacher, school librarian, play director, and copy editor, she can engage large or small groups of kids and inspire even the most reluctant writer to pick up a pencil and start writing! She has a wonderful sense of humor, which shows up in her own writing, and often in her students'. Additionally, she is professional, reliable, and intelligent enough to critically evaluate/edit college-level, business, and professional writing.

I have had the opportunity to work with Jim several different times and have only great things to say. He is a master at composing great photos, uses the best equipment and is very generous with his time. Jim has photographed our family several times, including portraits of my wife and I, our son, and grand children. He’s also taken photos at family events including my Dad’s 88th birthday and backyard concerts. More recently Jim shot some beautiful photos of a few collector cars we own. He is skilled at the use of lighting and reflections to make a spectacular photo you will be proud to show off. Jim is also well know for his photographs of Rivers and the beautiful nature scenery we have in California's central valley. I'm very happy with the service I received from Karen at River City Writing. She was always professional and was flexible with my schedule. She helped me to prepare for a medical school interview. Last year I interviewed at the same school and my interview performance was not good despite my best efforts to prepare. This year, with Karen's help, I was able to successfully get through my interview! And what's even better is that I got accepted into this medical school! Not only did Karen have some background in the medical field that was very useful, she always brought additional information to help me such as articles she had read. When we went over interview answers and mock interviews she was honest and provided constructive criticism that I really needed and that had not been given to me by other people who had mock interviewed me. Mrs.Buck has been helping my son with AP English as well as the English portion of ACT. English is not my son's favorite subject and he has always been very reluctant to learn it, but Mrs Buck has done a wonderful job of motivating him and helping him improve his scores. Her positive attitude and radiant smile is something everyone in my family looks forward to. She is extremely knowledgeable and makes each session interesting. She brings her own material too, to work with. When my son has to work on literary analysis of specific novels, it's nice to know that she has already read the novel and is able to explain it better; rather than reading it along with him for the first time.
