Basic obedience training , and training my dog not to pull on the leash.. Philip and Michelle Kaough were awesome with my dog. I would highly recommend Philip and Michelle to people with new puppies. They have a true understanding of dogs and their underlying motivators. They helped my husband and I see how vital structure and consistency is for Bo's happiness and well being. I really hope in the furture that we get to continue to the next level of training class with them.
John is calm, confident and professional. He is amazing! Dog training is as much about training the owners as it is training the dog. He explains how dogs think and how we communicate with them. Best money I've spent in a while. I'd highly recommend this trainer!
We are very excited to get going on training our dog with Dave. He came to our house on Saturday, and spent over an hour discussing our dogs needs, and Dave's philosophy on training. (Free consultation) We were very impressed, and feel that he will be a great fit for our family.
When I contacted Beth, I had dog who was anxious and nervous. He was constantly pulling during our walks, and he wasn't always friendly with other people. Beth gave me the skills, knowledge, and confidence, I needed to be successful in training my dog. I am happy to say, my dog is now a pleasure to walk, and he has become much more friendly to the people he encounters. I highly reccommend Beth!
Jake is, by far, the strangest dog that Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. I rescued him when he was 4 months old. His beautiful blue eyes, wrinkly face, and I can do it myself attitude captured my heart the moment I first met him. From what I can gather, his first few months of life were rough. He was found by the side of the road with both of his back legs broken, and the day I went to pick him up, I also learned that he was (and is) completely deaf. After my first few days with Jake, it became clear to me that he had in some way been abused. Unlike any other young puppy Ive ever met, he was very unwelcoming to touch of any kind. To make matters worse, I quickly learned that he was not very fond of other dogs. It started off with growls and nips, and as time passed, it quickly turned into calculated attacks. I could see brief glimpses of his sweet and soft at home, but there was such a thick layer of anger covering it up. It made me so sad to see him this way. I spent months learning how to train a deaf dog, and socialize aggressive dogs. Google became my best friend. But try as I may, Jakes aggression towards other dogs became, quite frankly, unmanageable. Eventually, I had completely given up trips to the dog park, hiking, the dog beach, and really any form of activity that offered a chance to encounter other dogs. I was sad, and Jake was visibly becoming very depressed. The quality of life for both of us had diminished, and I felt so guilty and hopeless. I felt like I had nowhere to turn. And then I met Ralf. I had tried other trainers in the past, and one had even told me that there was nothing that could be done for Jake at all. So suffice to say, things didnt seem promising, and I didnt have a lot of hope going in. I cant tell you how wrong I was. Very quickly, Ralf taught me about being the leader and making Jake both respect and trust me. We learned that Jakes aggression was actually coming from fear and not dominance as I had originally thought. All of this time, I had been treating the wrong problem! As a happy side-effect to our sessions, our walks improved (no pulling at all!), and Jake started to let me touch him in places Id never been able to before (ears, paws, belly, etc.). He had become more affectionate, calm, and seemed much more relaxed. Then, after 2 years of failed attempts, I was shocked and amazed that within only 3 months of working together, we were able to take Jake INTO the dog park for our lessons. Soon enough he was off leash and it was only a matter of a few weeks until we saw him, for the first time EVER, actually PLAY with another dog. He was running, wrestling, and jumping just like a puppy should, and all of this without any aggression being shown. I literally started crying, right there in the middle of the dog park. The change that I have seen in Jake is nothing short of a transformation. Family members have told me that he is a new dog, and we are now taking regular trips to the dog park. I even took Jake camping with 2 other dogs and he did great! I cannot say enough about Ralf and the fantastic work that hes done with my little canine hero. He has literally changed our lives for the better. Thank you doesnt even begin to cover it. I fully intend to call Ralf with any and all of my future dog training needs, and highly recommend him to anyone with dog needs of any kind.
Our dog, Coconut, received puppy training through Laguna Niguel City classes taught by Wendy, about two years ago. Ever since then, we have used Wendy's help for training, dog walking, as well as pet boarding services. There are a few major points to mention about Doggie Do Pet Services / Wendy Brookhyser: 1. She is very reliable, responsible, and caring. 2. Our dog, Coconut, absolutely loves and adores her. 3. Wendy is one of the best trainers we have seen. To our eyes, she is an expert in dog training and dog behavior. In addition to puppy training, Wendy helped us with Canine Good Citizen training, and Coconut passed the test with flying colors one year ago. 4. Last, but not least, when Coconut returns from pet boarding with Wendy, he has played so much that he sleeps for a day or two!!!
Angela came to the house to help us with our new puppy training! From the minute she came in, we knew she was the perfect trainer! Our dog responded so well to her. Every single time she comes to the house, she is punctual, professional, super friendly, and great at what she does! You will not be disappointed. She is a dog whisperer!
Maureen was very responsive to texts/calls/emails. She made sure to address the individual needs of my family/pet. She packed in so much information into just one session and provided us with some unexpected extras. We have already seen an improvement in our puppy's behavior after one session. I love her positive approach to modifying behavior. She was also super patient with us (first time dog parents). We had some very basic questions but she spent extra time with us to make sure we were set before she left. Will definitely use her again and refer friends in need of doggy help.
Great working with Melissa. She is professional, kind and really helped me with training my dog. Thanks, Melissa.
Amazing! David was amazing with my dog. I had a dog who had several issues on top of not having any obedience. We tried other trainers before him and they couldn't help him. We finally found David and he did a wonderful job. He got our dog to stop lunging, barking, tearing up our things, helped us build a bond, and taught him obedience commands. I am very grateful for everything he's done.
Vince, Matt and Olivia are absolutely the best! I've had other training, but Epic truly defines the art of proper dog training with amazing results. They have been training my German Shepard for a few weeks and the results have been unbelievable. Sasha absolutely loves Matt! Thank you! Roger, Tustin Ca
Denise is amazing! From the moment we first met, we knew we made the a great choice for our pups. We have two dogs, one is 5 and the other is 9 months. Denise is really hands on in her approach to dog training and we learned so much from our time with her. We are much more confident in teaching our dogs how to behave and they are much happier with the new rules we have set in place. Thanks Denise!!
Tommy Stark is by far the best dog trainer I have ever known. He's extremely knowledgeable and always helpful. I have a large male Rottweiler who is an absolute joy to have in every and all situations due to Tommy's training. Anytime I've ever had a question about our dog Tommy is always there to help. I highly recommend Tommy Stark. He is the best of the best! Just ask Gronk.
Audrey scheduled us right away for a consultation to help with our food aggressive dog. Within one week using her training and tips any family member can pull our dogs food away with out getting biten or even a growl. Our German Shepard will now wait patiently in a calm "sit" position till we put his food back for him. Looking forward to more training!
I had used a trainer with limited success and was frustrated by the experience. I was referred to Bark to Basics by a colleague who experienced great results by working with Melissa at Bark to Basics. We had the same great outcome. She worked with us to help us better understand our dogs responses to us. We tried Bark to Basics rewards based approach and it worked. We learned so much about dog behavior and responses from Melissa. We as pet parents, required more training than our dog! Melissa also is a pet sitter which helped reinforce our training while we were away.
