The Best Cleaning Company The cleaning process has been a terrible exhausting procedure at my house. Every single weekend I felt like I would rather work two more days than spend the entire morning and afternoon washing, drying, dusting, painting, sweeping, ironing, and so on. However, doing these regular activities requires following the same algorithms from time to time; cleaning armchairs, sofas, and, moreover, carpets was unbearable. Even though I could use the most expensive chemicals and powders, I still saw those gross stains, from coffee, juices, soups, and, especially, the nail-polish. I want to say a huge thank you to this cleaning company! You have saved my time and efforts I have used to spend on cleaning; now I cannot even imagine the weekend without your help. The reason why I recommend these guys are: 1. They are using the exclusive chemicals and equipment that cannot be bought at the stores. 2. They did their job faster than I was giving the instructions to them; 3. They will indeed fight the most terrible stains so your furniture and carpet look new. Personally, I may not recognize my house now; it seems I have never seen the true colors of my carpet and sofa; they look fantastic! The workers managed to renovate the old-school carpets and sofa, so they look more attractive now than did in the store! I am sure, these cleaning machines will become the usual guests at my house; providing this kind of service, this cleaning company gives me time for myself and, what is more important, guarantees the clean and welcoming home any time I give them a call.

Jim has done so much work at my house! He replaced my brick fireplace with stacked stone and a custom made mantle. It looks amazing. Then he put crown moulding up, even on the kitchen cabinets. He modified the kitchen cabinets so they could hold glass inserts, installed a wine fridge, backsplash, and custom wood counter. All of his work was perfect! I can't wait to get him back to remodel my guest bathroom. I saw one he did and it looks like it's right out of a magazine.

We had cracks in our concrete outside walkway entry. We looked at overlays and decided on installing real flagstone instead. It also had to match some existing stone. Dario did it. He always showed up as promised. The result is beautiful and my wife loves it! The picture depicts only a small portion of the work actually done, including steps. Thank you.

Kevin did a beautiful job laying our travertine tile. His work is outstanding and he pays attention to detail. He is very clean and after he left you could not even tell that he had been there except our floors were now stunning. I will use Kevin for ALL of my future tile/stone work. I recommend him highly. You will not be disappointed.

I was lucky enough to refer Gary to one of my customers who needed some work done on their natural stone countertop. After having a couple of contractors do a "no show" ... Gary showed up and got the job done at a very reasonable price. Everyone was happy and satisfied with his performance.

ROGER DID EXTENSIVE TILE PROJECTS FOR ME. HE DID A BEAUTIFUL COMPLITATED PATTERN ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR. IN ONE BATH, HE TILED UP THE WALLS WITH INTRICATE INSERTS OF JEWELED TILES. HE WAS ABLE TO TEAR DOWN AND OLD SHOWER AND BUILD A NEW WALL. ALL WORK WAS CLEAN AND NO MESS WAS LEFT BEHIND.

Gotham Greens are VERY professional, all contracts any changes were documented. They poured a concrete patio with a paver look and put stones in between just like the pictures I showed them, they also extended the driveway all the concrete work was very well done. They also built a beautiful redwood deck and matching planter boxes, planted sod and repaired/replace sprinklers in that area. There was a miscommunication at one point which would have cost more but he said if it was a miscommunication there will be no extra charge. They always asked if there was any question at all, always let me know when they were coming (or not). Waiting for a quote on some more work from them.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

      • Old standard or electric toothbrush
      • Stiff bristle brush
      • Spray bottle
      • White vinegar
      • Commercial grout cleaner

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.
