I've been training with David for about 5 weeks now. I decided to train with David initially because I felt like he listened to my goals and he sounded like he had a lot of experience. He was the first person I interviewed but I remembered that he was the most humble and down to earth, and I had a feeling I'd be comfortable training with him. All the men trainers I interviewed talked to me like I had two brain cells, and I found David to be the most up front and honest. My goal is to lose weight, tone up and to strengthen my left shoulder for outrigger canoeing. So far, I am noticing a huge difference with my left shoulder. Its stronger and it no longer bothers me when I go paddling or perform certain exercises. Its still not 100% in strength but has gotten a lot stronger through training. All our sessions are pretty different and varied. I never know what to expect from David, which is good. I get bored at the gym because I love the outdoors, but David keeps it interesting. David pushes me when he thinks I'm slacking off, which often times, he is mostly right about.... I need someone to push me or I will slack off, which is probably a good reason to hire a trainer. David goes out of his way to make it work for his clients. He genuinely cares about his clients and loves what he does. I can tell by the excellent service he provides for his clients. My personal belief is that its important to practice what you preach, and David is a trainer that is in great physical condition, and knows what he is doing. I personally did not want to hire a personal trainer at the local gym that looked like they needed training themselves... I highly recommend David as a personal trainer. Due to his diverse background, I believe he would be a great fit for many.
I had not stepped into a gym for many years and asked an old friend from High School how he was maintaining his physique (he actually looks better now than he did 30 years ago). My friend told me he worked out with a personal trainer (Todd Templin) for the past two years. I did not have the motivation, was very self-conscious, and most of all very intimidated by the machines and work out routines. Todd was the perfect fit (pun intended) and person to guide me through all these obstacles both mental and physical. He is always on time, motivated to be with you, and most importantly has a positive attitude. I have been training with Cheryl for 2 years, at the time I had just joined the gym and had not really had much physical activity, so I was really out of shape and needed to lose about 100 pounds. I first went to Luis a few years ago after a string of short lived experiences with other personal trainers. I was looking for a personal trainer who was smart, experienced, tough on me but also had a great personality. Someone I could go to, get a good work out and have fun at the same time. I was asking for a lot, but I found it all in Luis. I've learned so much from him about working out (and doing it the correct way) as well as diet & nutrition. I offer food coaching and high-intensity personal training. Depending on needs and requests, I instruct my clients in how to do cardio, plyometric and weight-bearing exercise, and then in how to eat in order to achieve their fitness goals. I do offer nutritional advice without physical training, and workouts without any jibber-jabber on food. Eating right and exercising both get easier when you pursue them in tandem, but my services come a la carte, if you will. I often run cardio sessions for couples, or split my services between a couple (one wants to exercise but can't be told what not to eat, one will dial in on food but hates soreness and sweat) for the same fee.
