OMG!!! I don't think I can work with any other personal trainer. Baron and Marcos set a really high bar. I'm new to "getting fit" so I know absolutely nothing at all. I went on a lengthy email exchange with Baron before I started, and Baron was prompt and thorough with his responses. Never did he get frustrated with all the stupid, inane questions I threw at him. Marcos is an awesome trainer. Always on time, totally flexible, and quick to think on his feet to adapt the routine to my unfit body. I've only been six? sessions in, and already I'm seeing results. For example, I went from not being able to plank at all (soooooo embarrassing) to being able to plank for over a minute. Baron and team is probably the best value of all the trainers in the Bay Area. Considering that your trainer **comes to you** and brings all the necessary equipment for the session, I don't think ANYONE can beat their price.

After years and years of wanting to have a personal trainer, I always pushed it off. But something about turning 25 was a wake up call for me. So I made the plunge and did my research and looked into plenty of Personal Trainers but none of them really stood out. It wasn't until using this service and Anthony reaching out to me is a very fast manner that I took the opportunity to meet with him. Let's just say after a quick 15 min phone call and getting to know one another, I was hooked and ready to go. I started my training session on Monday and for someone who really hasn't stepped foot in a GYM or lifted weights, Anthony understands that and works to your level. During the 30 min workout (which felt longer at times haha) he was with me every step of the way, motivating and encouraging me to complete my sets. It has truly been the best investment I have ever made and look forward to accomplishing my goals. You won't go wrong with God's Gym & Anthony as your trainer. This guy knows his stuff!

I've worked out with trainers before, even one that I loved, and the experience with Anthony has still been on a different level entirely. For the last 5 weeks, I have had the pleasure of having Anthony as my trainer. I have found capacities in my body that I didn't know existed. Anthony is hardly summed up by a five star review. Anthony has one of the sunniest and positive personalities you'll never meet. The workouts are different every day and are fun and enjoyable and never boring. The gym environment is also great. From other trainers and other gym goers, everyone is kind, supportive, and encouraging. Expect to be greeted by everyone when you arrive. Since my first day, the atmosphere has been nothing but positive. I feel very welcomed and extremely comfortable. I've been very impressed with my experience thus far. I love the that God's cultivates a great mix of clientele. I see both men and women (regardless of age, level of fitness, or experience) working on their goals.

My review is specifically for Anthony, my personal trainer of four sessions. He is kind, funny, motivational, positive, enthusiastic, responsive, and was never intimidating nor condescending. He was patient with me when I had to reschedule sessions again and again because of my personal schedule, and always showed up to sessions with a smile, ready to fist bump you. As a complete beginner to using the gym equipment, he helped me feel at ease and competent. One thing to be aware of, though, is that you may share Anthony with a couple of other folks during your session (perhaps there are 1-on-1 options available), which works pretty well as we take turns using the machines. It just means that you may have to be more proactive in grabbing his attention to ask questions, if you do have any and which I know he'd be happy to answer. All in all, 5 stars for Anthony!

I've worked with a few personal trainers over the years and I have to say that hands down, Evan is the best trainer I have ever worked with. I started working out with Evan over a year ago. I have chronic low back pain, and had just had a procedure that was meant to reduce swelling and allow me to exercise more and strengthen my core. I had been doing physical therapy for awhile, but found that the workouts were too mellow, and I didn't really notice any improvement in my core strength. My wife had actually been working out with Evan for a few months and she recommended I try a few workouts with him. Evan has been amazing. The workouts are intense and challenging. He focuses on doing intervals of a quick series of strengthing exercises, with a burst of cardio in between sets that keeps your heart rate elevated for the entire workout. Given my back issues, he is very good about checking in to make sure he is not stressing or straining my lower back (or any other injury I might have picked up). I have noticed dramatic improvement in my core strength and overall fitness in my time with Evan. He also has been willing to email me personalized workouts I can do on my own for days when I'm not working out him. I agree with all the other posts here -- 5 stars. Evan is great.

I have never been one to enjoy working out or going to the gym, but Evan has changed all of that. He is a great motivator, and has helped me get into the best shape of my life. His nutritional advice and training have helped me lose weight and get stronger. I have a very complicated schedule and Evan has been very accommodating. He has even provided work outs for me to do when traveling. I highly recommend Evan, I am not sure what else one would want in a personal trainer.

I started training with Aaron about 18 months ago now. I had never gone to a personal trainer before and swung between eagerly not knowing what to expect, mixed with some degree of “gymtimidation”. Aaron is truly great- the proof of this is my first intention was to do only 5 sessions with him, just to give my personal fitness plan a boost. Some 75-odd weeks later, I’m still not giving up my trainer any time soon! First, Aaron takes time to understand where you are at, and where you ultimately want to be. He does this in a subtle, very approachable way, never being judgmental or anything other than completely positive. Then he sets about helping you get there. Clearly the most important element in all this is his technical knowledge- he pays extreme attention to one’s form conducting the exercises. His main goal here is to prevent injury, which I think cannot be underestimated. He designs our workout sessions to be fun, varied, motivational so one can appreciate the gains, and focused to achieve one’s goals. Aaron works around any health issues one might have, and does a really great job of reading how one feels on the day and applying just the right amount of “push” to get the job done. Aaron’s knowledge of anatomy and physiology has really impressed me personally; he quickly identified weaknesses I had, which almost unbeknownst to me had affected my daily life, probably for years. Many of our exercises are specifically focused on correcting these issues and I am reaping the noticeable benefits of this every day. I cannot recommend Aaron highly enough. Anyone training with him will receive a quality, professional experience, which is fun and rewarding. As well as an excellent trainer, he is also a great guy, which has made many a session of “nose to the grindstone” something I still want to do again and again…

John got me to my goal. And he was REAL. Way honest. He was nice and knowledgeable but he didn't sugar coat what I really needed to do. I told him I wanted to do 5 pull ups (couldn't even do half of one to start). He laid out a plan, told me that with my lifestyle it would truly take at least 3 months. He changed up my diet (which I didn't always follow...) but he showed me I could eat what I want a couple times a week, creating balance with a focus on eating what would get me to my goal. I truly needed the nutritional help. John was extremely professional, kept his eye on my alignment, encouraged me when I did well, fired me up when I needed a push, and answered all of my random texts and calls. He would alter my written weekly workouts if I didn't feel I could do something on my own and then made sure to show me the way when we had another in person session. I could go on. But the best part is that I can now do 5 pull ups. I feel mighty at 5'1"!!! There is no magic to reaching a fitness goal...really any goal. You just have to work hard and that's what I learned from John. I had to want it bad enough. Honestly, paying someone was enough of an inspiration in some ways. I didn't want to waste my money by being lazy. I listened to the professional. John is the second personal trainer I have hired. I won't be looking for a third. I will be continuing with his monthly programming and jumping into some group sessions when I need that extra energy.

If you have food items that you feel you can't live without, she'll help you work them into your diet in the best way possible. -Kendall is always on time! Even on the days I happen to arrive early, she's there waiting for me. -She's great about scheduling our time together and does a check-in with her clients every Sunday to reconfirm the schedule for the week. -Safety is her #1 priority in teach her clients how to lift weights and get into shape. She's always asking for feedback about feel, comfort, pain levels, etc. Only once I had to tell her about pain I was experiencing in my knee, and she immediately modified my motion to alleviate the pain. -Kendall is an excellent motivator and really helps you get past your own mental blocks about your body and losing weight. -She's honest about necessary commitment vs. personal goals and explains her rates/pricing really well. -The gym where she hosts clients is really the most intimidating part of the experience. On any given day you'll see people training and practicing for body building competitions. If you don't mind learning alongside the pros, you'll be fine. -Everyone at that gym also works out with a personal trainer, so it's a very comfortable experience being around people working on the same goals that you have -I am still in my first month training with Kendall but am already seeing results in how my clothes are fitting me. I have a few pieces of equipment at home already but he brings other equipment that we utilize. James is very good at designing workouts that are custom-made for the client to get you on the path to accomplishing your goals. He's focused and is constantly mixing up the routines to keep your muscles challenged and to keep you from falling into a routine. Too many other trainers seem to be burned out and bored, putting all of their clients through the same tired cookie-cutter exercises. James is one of the few trainers that is intuitive and pays attention to everything going on to put you through a workout that will be worth the effort each day. I don't work out with trainers all the time, instead choosing a trainer to occasionally help me get out of a rut and to new things from them. James was great at helping me breakthrough some of my old ways of working out and teaching me new approaches to working out, including boxing. If you're looking for a trainer that will challenge you and be worth the money, I would highly recommend James.

Felipe is my first personal trainer ever, and it's been an amazing experience for me so far. I've never been a workout person at all before, so I was a bit concerned about my ability to stay focused and motivated. But Felipe's approach works great for keeping me motivated. For one thing, he's about more than just counting reps. He always makes sure to explain why he's added a particular exercise to my routine and what I can expect to get out of it. Which is good, because when your biceps are burning and your knees are crying out in agony - and that is going to happen, it's just part of the whole personal trainer experience - it's a lot easier to keep going when you understand why you're doing it in the first place. More than that, I've seen definite improvements in both how I look and how I feel since I've been going to Felipe, and it's only been a few months. He's also a great guy who defies the stereotype of personal trainers who motivate their clients by making them feel bad about themselves. Felipe doesn't work like that at all, and if you're looking for a personal trainer on the Peninsula (San Mateo), I'm telling you, he's your guy.

Dima is the best personal trainer I've ever had! He created a personalized fitness plan specific to my goals and my schedule. My focus was around strength training. The best part was that he also taught me basic information that I needed to know in order to modify my fitness plan over time in order to make it more challenging or in order to fit my changing daily/weekly schedule. Not all trainers are willing to share their secrets, but I definitely felt like Dima really cared that I reached my goals and that he was willing to share whatever knowledge necessary in order for me to do so! Mohamed is the best trainer I have ever trained with. I have trained with a number of other trainers before but no one as good as Mohamed. E.J. Edgerton is the best trainer EVER! I began working with him over 10 years ago years ago to prepare for surgery to replace a torn off ACL I sustained skiing and to rehab after that surgery. He got me in such good shape that I decided to keep going to him on a regular basis so I could STAY in shape! His knowledge of musculature and connective tissue is superb. I can say, "It hurts here" and he will have an immediate fix. He has taught me a lot about how I need to stretch and strengthen. 2 years after my c-section, I continued to have pain in my lower back. Even though physical therapy helped, the pain lingered on. I was unable to do any exercises beyond the ones recommended during the physical therapy. That's when Radha came to the rescue. She listened very patiently to my problem and customized exercises that suited my comfort level and yet pushed me to getting stronger. Radha is great to work with. I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to working with personal trainers because all of them profess to know everything and then they're always lacking something.. nutrition, customized plan etc. On the recommendation of a friend I decided to hire Christina for a 12 week training body makeover. She listened to everything I had to say, understood my busy schedule, and designed a customized plan that I am still doing long after the 12 weeks was over. I was a little worried about the cost, but now that I look at it I was paying for her years of experience to completely customize the perfect plan for me. I was hundred and 93 pounds, 5'10" tall, and had 23% body fat. I am a 44-year-old male After 12 weeks I have 14.9% body fat and I weigh hundred and 73 pounds, and lost 4 inches off my waist I'll bet I added 10 years to my life. What is that worth? And the best news of all is the motivation that I received to keep me accountable and on track. A several hundred dollar investment that was the best investment I've ever made.

Have been training with Pete for over 7 years now, and I've always been extremely happy with the service he provides. Depending on whether I'm training to build mass, maintain fitness, or doing injury recovery, he customizes my routines to achieve that goal. I trained with Stephen Chun to prep for a Spartan Race in July of 2015.  It turned out to be one of the best fitness experiences I've had.  I cannot sing Stephen's praises enough.  First, the physical training pushed me beyond what i ever thought I could do and toned and defined my muscles in just six weeks.  I hard arm and leg definition I had never seen before and I've been a runner and have done a couple of olympic distance triathlons.  He helped me to conquer fears and doubts as I trained for the Spartan Race.   In addition, he was so careful to make sure I didn't get injured.  We did table work that helped to release muscle tension and when I had to take a week off because of a psoas injury he helped put me back together and helped me get stronger.  The best part about working with Stephen is who he is as a person. He started as my trainer but became an incredible friend.  Both he and he fiance  made me a care package the night before my race and showed up to cheer me on at the Spartan Race.  Not only do I have the best trainer ever but I have a friend for life in Stephen.  I highly recommend him.

I work a 9-5er and sit at my desk for a good portion of the day. I've reconditioned my posture and pain due to hours of typing and clicking the mouse to something more manageable. At work, I've changed my desk habits with exercises without looking like a fool and gained endurance from training exercises. For the value of what Stephen charges, I'm beyond satisfied. I really enjoy working with Herman. He is very engaging during the training. Herman will motivate and push you beyond your limit that you didn't even know you are capable of. He focuses on what your goals and your needs are and adjust the workout or meal prep to help achieve it. He is also very responsive and flexible with my capabilities. At first I was going to look for one myself, but knowing my previous trainer, also excellent, I said "ok". Well I have been with Chris going on 4 years now. Well I bulked up, which I did not want and added more weight due to the muscle. I weighed in at 210 for a 5'7". Chris set up a program mixed with cardio, resistance training and some weights. He also threw in core strengthening to achieve better balance and prevent falls due to my increase age. Chris also talked to me about food and nutrition, which goes hand in hand with exercise. One thing that I find extraordinary about Chris is that he is also a therapist. He checks in on my mental health and listens to my personal challenges with family, business and politics without being judgemental. Chris understands that those challenges if not vented or voiced affects our subconscious and our attitude toward training and exercise. He has gotten me off of Costco hotdogs and pizza. I walk everyday without any rest stops on a hilly street in my neighborhood. I now weigh 179. My goal is 170 and it is within sight. I could not have done this without Chris.....MrFitWell.
