David Ackerman says, "I had a really great experience with The Rock Handyman. We had several issues in our house that we needed resolved before we moved out in a couple weeks - repairing drywall and painting in two areas of the house due to leaks, broken door handle, leaking door, flaky lighting, and a stuck toilet.They gave us a quote that was well below what we expected to pay (and was about the same price as another company charged to just remove one piece of drywall). I was almost skeptical that it was too cheap and that we'd regret it, but they really pulled through.They were extremely professional and respectful of our house (i.e. not tracking dirt in, being quiet while our baby was sleeping, and making sure we could use rooms overnight that they were working on).They said they could do ALL the fixes in one week, and I was skeptical of that too given how long our other contractors took to do a subset of these tasks. However, they finished in 3 days! And they also didn't charge extra for looking at the toilet last minute (that wasn't part of the original quote).Overall, it was a great value for quality work. I would definitely want to work with them for any future projects we have."See more

Bill helped us with our renovation. The work included paint, change baseboards, change wood floor, renovate fireplace and build new railings. The overall experience was pleasant. Bill is responsive and professional. He was the most responsive out of all the other contractors we met with. We sourced our own wood but used Bill’s contact for hearth stone. We are overall happy with the experience and quality of work. Small thing that could’ve gone better was the railing and banister turned out to be bulkier than we had expected and the wall around fireplace wasn’t finished.

Sergey helped me with a big renovation project that includes kitchen & bathroom complete remodel, additional bathroom, structural wall removal, skylight replacement & addition, external post replacement (due to dry rot), roofing, backyard renovation, electrical rewiring, HVAC system, painting, and many more. My experience with Sergey and his team was very positive from the beginning to the end. His estimate was throughout, detailed, and realistic. He took the time to learn about what I envisioned, my style, my budget, and gave me helpful suggestions. Learning about him and his past projects, developed trust in him to choose the right options and materials that would match my taste and expectation. As expected for any other extensive projects, there were surprises and delays that came up throughout the process due to many unforeseen circumstances (the house condition, weather, health, etc.) but Sergey and his team were very communicative and responsive. They always gave me explanation and recommended options before asking for permission to execute. Most importantly, when there were mistakes, their team did not try to excuse themselves but got right into action to fix them. Another benefit in hiring Sergey is his network. As a general contractor, Sergey was able to bring in different teams of roofers, landscapers, etc. to work on projects I added. His folks provided quality work and services. His brother Dima is also an honest & great guy with solid skillsets. One tip I have is you still can shop around and negotiate for a fair price with Sergey's teams (but also keep in mind you have to compare apple to apple regarding the high quality of work they're able to provide). The original time estimate was 5 months. With a few delays, additional scopes, and hiccups (COVID-19 regulation, holidays, health, scheduling, etc.) it was finally finished after 8 months and an additional 25% above the original budget. These are things that I expected and would recommend anyone to keep those in mind before starting any renovation project. Overall, I'm very happy with the end result and have been recommending Sergey to my friends and family. It was a pleasure working with Sergey, his brother Dima, and his team. I would hire them again for my future projects.

Wow! 10/10 would work with O'Hanlon Construction again! Conor and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with and the quality of their craftsmanship was matched by their speed and dedication. It is clear that Conor and his team care about their work—my interior design project is ad hoc and Conor was quick to offer excellent solutions, alternative options, and a variety of skilled expertise that made completing that space stress free. His team completed the construction of a speakeasy that is being built inside of an event space. The work included sheet rocking, tiling, plumbing, and painting. I’ve worked with some other contractors in the past and for this job I interviewed about 7 different contractors and felt that CD had the best grip on the project and I was really impressed with Carmit’s construction background and her and the team’s deep knowledge of building and contracting. They completed a substantial remodel for us - taking down structural walls, gut renovation of living room, kitchen and bathroom. And they did it on time! I thought their pricing was really reasonable, and they kept in close communication all the way through the project. They offered informed advice along the way, both on design elements but also clever ways for us to save money with supplies - without impacting overall quality. We hired Outline General Contractors for converting one large bathroom + guest closet into one master bath and one guest bath in San Francisco. The work involved working with our architect to ensure that the city requirements were met and city permits were procured. Luis was pretty easy to work with from the beginning and suggested some great places for tiles and fixtures. Being first time homeowners and performing a renovation project for the first time, it was useful to sit down with Luis to get a deeper understanding of all the various nitty-gritty details of the tasks as mentioned in the contract. It was also essential to be proactive through the project, as that helped us effectively monitor the progress of the project, especially in the final stages, where we were juggling between finishing the work and moving into the home where it would have been easy to slip into delays. Luis also has great employees working on the site who show great flexibility and excellent attention to detail. Out of the dozen companies we contacted, Outline offered us a competitive quote for the project relative to many others. Overall we are quite satisfied with the outcome of the project and look forward to working with Luis on future home improvements projects.

We had Gene and his team renovate our main bathroom, updating the existing footprint with newer items, light electrical and opening up old shower to max space. It's taken me awhile to write a review because like all reno projects, you need to let the battle scars heal before you comment. Overall, I'd rate them 7/10. They provided a fair quote, came in on time but as in all renos, it took longer than quoted but who really believes in those dates anyway. The demo was great, the execution of most of the items was fair but the areas where I wish I micromanaged was execution of certain pieces. For example, implementing the medicine cabinet, we asked for plugs on the inside so you can plug your toothbrush there but the plug is in the middle making it now hard to put anything else there. We ordered a vanity from Restoration Hardware, one can argue quality with Gene all day but it's so poorly implemented and it has been cut into so it was non-refundable. When you are stuck between getting your bathroom finished and bleeding more money, it's one of those regrets I will never ever get over. The paint job was horrible but Gene was always willing to make changes until we were satisfied and even picked the cost of the extra can of paint and some of the tile work was not executed well. I still find it difficult to look at many of the small items that was rushed or just not done w/ care but we didn't have the patience or money to rip up and start again. Nonetheless, Gene was always willing to try, gracious about my complaints and willing to do-over if / where possible. He worked the drain cap many times to make it fit. I had my own designers but since Grats does their own design, it may have easier if they had designed it because it was a battle to cross-ref all of the parties to ensure the vision was executed right. Each party blame the other and I was caught in the middle. Lastly, if I used them again, I would insert check points to ensure what I wanted was executed. It might drag out the project a bit but at least you don't live regretting your choices.
