Julia came today for the first time. She was amazing, making sure that everything was spotless! We are going to schedule a once a month cleaning.
Noel was a joy to work with. He installed a new flagstone walkway and patio in my employers back yard. He did an amazing job. My employers were away when the work was done and completed - they were extremely happy when they returned. LOVE Noel!!
I didn't actually hire Max because our project changed and I didn't need him anymore so I can't talk about work quality. However, I wanted to comment on his quoting process. I had several contractors come out to make their bids and I felt that Max did an excellent job of not only listening but actually hearing what I was asking for and providing his professional suggestions (without trying to bid up the project). He provided his estimate which was exactly what we had talked about and his pricing was lower than the competition. I would contact Max again to bid for projects in the future.
My deck is about 250 sq ft and sometimes it doesn't meet the minimum requirement that other contractors would want. But Chris gladly accepted to work on it. I've had various different projects ranging all levels over the last 2 years, and I found Chris to be at the top when it comes to professionalism. He is very competitive with his pricing. He is very responsive on Thumbtack and over the phone. He is very articulate and sends reminder messages on when he plans to start and details all prep work he'd like to be met prior to start (e.g. cleaning up the deck / cleaning up the grooves etc) -- I've seen other contractors take this work on themselves but I'd personally be OK spending a few hours prep (given that I'd have to continue maintaining the deck anyway). There was a minor delay in starting the project but it was very well handled and communicated. The only downside was I wanted to see if Chris could sand & stain my cedar log patio swing but he respectfully declined it due to his other commitments. He continues to provide me with some tips and suggestions on getting this done though. I'd gladly recommend him to friends and family.
Richard Hynes is a very detailed professional. Upon meeting Richard I felt comfortable about the project. We originally wanted to order materials for the project and he had suggested to me that he would order any materials and provide us with the receipts. Luckily we let him order the material as it turns out the ones we wanted to order were undersized for our project. Richard came and seismically retrofitted our home. He also helped us on our kitchen and bathroom remodels while managing the project the whole way, hiring subs, coordinating between myself and subcontractors and achieving the results desired. Richards pricing was 20% cheaper compared to licensed professionals in the area. We are so glad to have had his help, as the previous worker we hired from thumbtack turned out to be unlicensed at a cheaper price, but ended up costing us a lot more money in the long run.
The process: Earlier this year, I posted our bathroom renovation project (with no real plan in mind on what we wanted) and within 10 minutes, Purev had reached out and was working with us to find out what we were looking to get done. We spoke to a couple contractors over that week and determined PGC was unbeatable in their prices (contracted labor only, materials were paid for separately). Since we didn't already have the design figured out, we had to be on point with picking out the materials as they needed them. Communication and timing for this piece was tricky as my husband and I were both still working full-time and traveling, which caused a few big delays in the project, but the PGC team was patient and worked with our busy schedules and helped outline what we needed to pick out each week. Overall: The project took a couple months to complete (which is longer than we were hoping for, but most of the big delays were caused by us), but overall the end result is spectacular and we love every little detail. The PGC team did a great job on our bathroom, and we feel that it has really added a lot of value to our house! After the project was complete, there were a couple instances where we had minor cosmetic issues come up (chipping grout, etc) but they came back to fix them soon after we contacted them. All around, we are really happy with the results. Thank you Guree, Eric, Purev and team for the great work! (Side note: The glass contractor we worked with per PGC's referral was also a pleasure to work with. The starfire glass BJ installed for our frameless shower is stunning and we are very happy with it.)
I did a full home remodel with Rudy. He is an awesome contractor to work with. He has a team that is well skilled and hardworking. I have very good attention to detail, some would call me a perfectionist. Rudy worked with me to get the remodel quality that I wanted without going over my budget. I have never been able to communicate via e-mail but he always answers my phone call. My suggestion is to just call him and talk to him directly on getting a quote and any issues that come up during the remodel. Rudy even went out of his way to build my kitchen cabinets and closets because I purchased them from IKEA, for the original agreed upon price. I don't like the cheap cabinets from the Chinese stores. It comes fully assembled but I'm not impressed with the quality. In summary, I would hire Rudy and his team at CaMex again for any remodel work I need.
Very impressed with S.O.T.A Construction. I contacted 5 different contractors and S.O.T.A. responded within an hour. Two of the others I contacted did not to commercial work. Another responded 5 days later. We needed someone ASAP and S.O.T.A. got us an estimate within a few hours and arrived the next morning to do the job. Wow! The work they did was very well done. Truly professional work. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. We will be contacting them again.
I hired ARCC to paint my ceilings and walls after popcorn ceilings were removed by an asbestos abatement company. It was a logical choice since they were also general contractors. They were very professional with great communication and updates and they finished the job in a timely manner. They also guarantee the work, so when I spotted a minor discoloration days after the work was done, they came back within a few days to do minor touch up. I'm very happy with their service and would use them again for a future job/recommend to friends.
Jesse Hess of Hess Construction created a new and up-to-date environment to a condo that had a decor which dating back to the1970s. Jesse began the work earlier than expected; which was fantastic - we were on a tight timeline after spend enormous amount of it interviewing general contractors. Even during our first couple of meetings, Jesse would give suggestions that would save money, time, and improve the look we had already decided on for our new home. Everything that was installed resulted in a look that made me use profane language upon first sight. It was beautiful just didn't seem to do it justice. I love waking up in and coming home to our new home! Thank you, Jesse!
Rick was our general contractor for our project that included fixing up/modernizing the exterior front of our house. He has an excellent working knowledge of all the trades required to complete this work. We received multiple bids and his price is very reasonable/competitive for the scope of work we had completed. Rick stripped our house of its old wood siding, porch tiles and old existing structures. He then replaced it with stucco, beautiful stonework siding, new porch stone and fresh paint. He also put in a new driveway and walkways for us. The house has a whole new look, and we couldn't be happier. Rick has excellent connections to many subcontractors in the area. They all did wonderful work, were very professional, friendly and polite and efficient. Rick's connections to these subs was invaluable for us, as there is no way I could have found them all on my own. Rick treated our project as if it were his own house. As little things came up during the project, he was able to fix or amend them as needed. He was also very available by phone. He answered just about every time I called, and if he didn't he returned my call right away. I never had to wait to get in contact with Rick. Rick also gave very good honest opinions about our project when I asked. One example is when I chose some very expensive porch stone that didn't look right with the rest of our materials. Rick not only expressed his concern with this, but showed up with about ten more stone choices so that I could pick out a better one, which I did. The porch now looks wonderful, and the stone that we like much better than the original choice was less expensive! I think you will be very happy with your home improvement project if you hire Rick as your contractor no matter how big or small your project is. Rick will be happy to do it!
Very good landscape Architect and contractor
Marc is hands down the best contractor I've ever hired. Period. From laying out beautiful sketches of our project to actually completing the job, Marc was nothing short of an absolute professional. His work speaks for itself and everyone who walks into our apartment comments on what an amazing job our contractor did. In the 24 hours since Marc finished our project I have referred him to nearly everyone I know in San Francisco. Can't wait to work with him again!
I am very happy from Everlast Construction service and work. They design a kitchen to my satisfaction and i am very happy from the final result! Anyone who want good contractor you can use Everlast thanks
AD: I have had the pleasure of working with David at my mixed use 6 unit building in SF for at least 15 years. He is completely trustworthy and very good at interacting with the tenants. David is a problem solver, he not only fixes the immediate problem but will figure out what is causing the problem and work on implementing preventative strategies. He takes allot of pride in noticing how things can work in a more efficient way and will make suggestions when he notices something that needs attention. I have also used David as a General Contractor supervising various subcontractors when there is a big remodel going on. Please contact me if you have any questions as I highly recommend David Tejeda. I hired Marcos through Thumbtack to give me an estimate on what it what cost to repair a rental property garage I own. INITIAL MEETING Marcos was not just on time; he was early. He brought tools to measure and estimate. He asked questions and offered solutions. He did not try to upsell me. Furthermore, he did not treat my partner who is a woman, like she didn't know anything because of her gender. I was impressed. ESTIMATE Marcos was comprehensive in his estimate. There were no hidden costs. He was clear in listing the labor and materials as line items. He did the same for subcontractors. He was explicit about timelines. His contract made payment easy. PERFORMANCE Through out the project, Marcos checked in via text message. He sent photos of the progress via email and text. There were some surprises with the work once he removed the wall but Marcos made sure he contacted us before he moved forward. His solution was thoughtful in terms of our budget and long term use.
Raul is responsive, professional, and personable. And most importantly, he does beautiful tile work. As a general contractor, he has become one of my solid go to" subcontractors.
As a general contractor I know the challenges of finding quality and competent help, as well as the many problems that can arise with contractors/ subcontractors, and because of this, I am very glad to have been able to work with Edgar. I highly recommend hiring Edgar if you want things done right the first time and by someone who is very experienced, professional, punctual and also a pleasure to work with. I have hired Edgar for several projects and look forward to several more!
We had Outstanding construction do a full interior remodel (Kitchens/Bathrooms) including landscaping front/rear. Concrete patio and side walkway of my Moms home in Belmont. House was in need of major upgrades throughout. Entire interior was re-textured / crown moulding / kitchen demo/replace including appliances. Because KC has his own dump truck is very convenient for haul out of debris as well as pickup of landscape and other materials for the job as the job progresses. KC did have good suggestions and has the contacts to get good pricing on quality products such as Brick/cabinetry/foam accents/windows etc. Kirk and his team work very hard are conscientious and keep a tidy jobsite. He will work with any of your own subcontractors but will also provide contact details for folks he has worked with in the past. Pricing was fair after the whole job was done although it did take longer and cost more than originally estimated but from what I hear this is normal for larger re-model projects because there are so many moving parts. He had the plans drawn up and went to the city to obtain the permits...so no problems with any of the intermediate city inspections and achieved permit sign off . Our realtor who was checking in periodically on the projects progress was very impressed with the end result as was his colleagues who came to see the finished product. As testament to how well the finished product was received, when we put it on the market it sold in 7 days with multiple offers over asking. Granted alot of that had to do with the location but it also had a lot to do with the "Pop" the house had after the remodel was completed... people that looked at it were very impressed with the finished product.
Jim Siers had the 3 qualities were needed when we were looking to build our remodel/addition... 1) Honesty - Our project went sideways pretty quickly when we ripped open the walls and exposed multiple problems with our existing structure. Jim kept our added costs as reasonable as possible, knowing we were on a tight budget. 2) Skills - We are very pleased with the results and each of the subcontractors that came through commented on the high quality of his work. 3) Pride in his Work - Throughout each stage of the project, it was apparent that Jim cares a great deal about his work. He and his small team were easy to work with and very flexible. Jim is not a salesman, and not a chatty guy. He is a builder and a craftsman and we recommend Siers Construction wholeheartedly.
Bella Home Builders created an awesome kitchen / family room. Excellent subcontractors & quality. The project has been admired by all of our friends & relatives. This also created a great setting for a small wedding at home.
They were great. Only ones who agreed to our short timeframe. Did take a bit longer but we were pleased with all subcontractors, the team was extremely helpful, and we are very happy with the work.
We recently renovated our first floor which included a complete kitchen remodel, painting, wood flooring throughout and two bathrooms. We chose Evolve Construction after considering several other companies. Not only was Evolve Construction reasonable in the estimate but we liked that they did nearly all the work themselves instead of having to coordinate subcontractors. The designer was very knowledgeable and helpful in taking our ideas and tweaking them into a workable design. The workers were top-notch in workmanship and were there every day. At the end of the day, they always cleaned up. The project turned out wonderfully. Evolve was a good choice.
Chris McDermott did a major remodel of my house in Berkeley (including kitchen and bathroom), increasing the value of my home significantly. Chris can do nearly every aspect of construction, from framing to finish, and knows when to turn it over to subcontractors. Chris is accommodating, hard working, honest, and professional. He's also easy to talk to and fun to be around, and is able to help translate ideas and preferences into an awesome finished product while staying within budget. ~Erin
General contractor for residential remodel for which I prepared documents. Contractor was thorough and suggested some useful changes, had access to multiple subcontractors and crews, and was flexible in response to owner changes.
