This past summer, I was in search of a tutor to assist my brother with his preparation for the ACT. A number of conversations with local tutors proved fruitless, as they were either too expensive or had rigid schedules. After doing some research online, I came across Joyee’s profile on Wyzant. I was particularly impressed by his extensive background in ACT tutoring having worked for some well-regarded test preparation companies. In addition, his rates were extremely fair. I enlisted Joyee’s tutoring services via skype, and my experience was remarkable. In spite of the three hour time difference between the east coast and west coast, Joyee remained a consummate professional with regard to his scheduling and punctuality. Most importantly, he is fully invested in his students, demonstrating patience and understanding whilst pushing them to achieve their full potential. Prior to working with Joyee, my brother had an initial diagnostic score of 27. After six weeks of tutoring with Joyee my brother scored a 35 on the September 2015 ACT. I highly recommend Joyee, his tutoring services are the perfect complement for any motivated high school student seeking help with test preparation.

A savior with a sweet smile. Tanya not only provided the editing I needed but she went above and beyond by providing me with proper formatting and ebook compliance corrections. She took the pain, confusion and fustration and made it all go away. I can't wait to hire her again now that writing is fun again.

Professor Khan is magnificent. I really appreciate her outstanding effort in everything that she did to help me with my college work. Just when I thought my form of writing couldn't be organized any better, she triple exceeded those expectations. I can't express my gratitude enough. Thank You!~

Nancy's is the best tutor I've ever had I have 3 boys and 1 girls and I have had over 15 different tutors over the years and by far she is the best I have had she is everything I am as far being stern but she brings the softness that the student needs to get the best out of them my daughter did not bond with the three tutors before Nancy but she really loves Mrs Nancy as she calls her and she look forward to her session every week. I hired her to teach my daughter Spanish who has never taken before and she already can write and speak Spanish in less than two months she was so good I ask if she does any other subjects and of course she does it all so now she tutors my daughter in math and her grade went from a C to an A she makes sure the student understands the topic before she moves on and she won't budge or go any further unless the student totally understands it. If your looking for top shelf tutor look no futher and for the price it's a win win for me and my daughter thanks for making my daughter experience a total success.

I've been very bad at math my entire life. I flunked algebra three times before I called Arbor Tutors. The tutor was very understanding and nonjudgmental. I can highly recommend Arbor Tutors.

She is great! I was in need of a SAT english tutor in order to compete for a spot at the United States Military Academy at West Point. She showed up on time and if needed would stay extra to make sure I actually improved. I was extremely confident heading into my test and was accepted into West Point. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of any help with english. In addition, she helped me with writing a letter to West Point on why I want to attend. She is great!!!

I worked with Sam Kohli between 2014-2015 in preparation for my ACT examination as well SAT Math II, Biology, and Chemistry Subject Tests prior to applying for college. When I first started with Sam, I did not have the hottest test scores (29 and 30 on the ACT) and was in need for guidance for not only raising my score but, more importantly, gaining valuable test taking strategies that would allow me to perform at my peak when testing day came around. I very much enjoyed my time with Sam: both as a tutor and as a friend. Sam's genuinely friendly, determined, outgoing, and patient personality truly make him an amazing tutor and individual you want to work with. Because of Sam's efforts, I was able to score a 35 on my ACT, 800 on my SAT Chemistry, 790 on my SAT Math II, and 750 on my SAT Biology. I am now attending UCLA as a second year Neuroscience Major with a Biomedical Research Minor as a prospective candidate for applying to medical schools come 2019.

About

FLEX Tutoring believes there is no "one size fits all" method for teaching. What works well for one student may not work at all for another. With that in mind, we use a three-pronged approach that is wholistic, flexible, and integrative for effective tutoring to get maximum results. WHOLISTIC Tutoring to Meet the Needs of Individuals By treating the student as a whole person, FLEX seeks to address the real sources of academic issues. While each student is different, FLEX tutors are trained to look for both inter-subject and intra-subject challenges. For example, a student having difficulty with math (intra-subject difficulties) may really be struggling with comprehending word problems (inter-subject difficulties involving both reading and math). FLEXIBLE Tutoring to Encourage Learning Styles FLEX Tutoring recognizes there are many different learning styles and that not all students learn well through auditory and visual methods (the two styles most commonly used in the classroom). Instead of rigidly adhering to a particular learning style or set of styles, FLEX tutors incorporate all learning styles into their instructional approach - from aural and visual, to verbal, physical, logical, social, and solitary. INTEGRATIVE Tutoring to Achieve Student Success FLEX Tutoring integrates a variety of life skills into each student's curriculum as part of our mission to foster personal growth. In addition to subject-specific content, FLEX tutors work with students to improve their study skills, note-taking techniques, time management, test-taking strategies, and stress management. These complementary skills prepare FLEX students for the challenges of modern life - from establishing work-life balance to efficiently managing the demands of higher education.

Dr. Montessori felt that a teacher should be graceful but precise in her movements, simple and clear with her words, and take the role of observer. Montessori also believed that children learn from their environment. The development of the child is dependent on the environment he is in. A child's safest, warmest, most familiar place to flourish is their home. Tiny Tutors is dedicated to constructing an environment that is rich with opportunity. Our curriculum includes a variety of lessons to develop the whole child. Practical life lessons are used to develop concentration, fine motor skills, eye-hand co-ordination, decision making power, patience and independence. Sensorial lessons develop the child’s visual, auditory, olfactory and tactile senses. These materials isolate a defining quality such as size, color, sound, smell, texture, or shape. Language lessons develop vocabulary, phonetic awareness, encoding, decoding and creative writing and thinking skills. The language materials include objects and pictures to be named, matched, labeled, and classified. Sand paper letters allow the child to feel as well as see the alphabet phonics and the “movable alphabet” naturally lead the child toward writing and reading Math lessons develop complete and accurate understanding of numbers and mathematical operations. With the strengthening of senses and the use of didactic materials children can form not only their intelligence, but the full totality of their psychic powers.
