Daniel made me feel very comfortable from the very beginning. My previous dance experience was very minimal (a few classes over 25-35 years ago). Daniel has an amazing gift for teaching dance. He is very patient and good at articulating the fundamentals of the different dances. He is also very professional and utilizes every minute of the lesson. I always walk away from my lessons feeling like I improved my dancing skills, had a great time, and with a smile on my face.
Erin and James were amazing teachers! We went from knowing nothing about salsa dance to having a full song choreographed! Preparing our first dance was the most fun of the wedding planning, and our dance surprised all of our guests! We had so much fun that we want to keep taking dance classes with Erin. Erin was super flexible with our schedule and helped us come up with something that we loved and felt comfortable with. I can't recommend her enough. Thank you for the beautiful choreography, and teaching us so much!
These two wonderful people is like being taught to dance by your best friend. They both have the ability like any good coach to watch what you're doing and correct your style in a way that's relaxed and fun. They both have group classes that are spectacular. The day after you go to one of their classes you can definitely feel the difference in your dance right away. It's like they've given you something that cannot be taken away. You own it now and you can use it every time you're on the dance floor. I've taken lessons from many dance instructors in the Bay Area but both of these great instructors have unique ability to convey complicated styling and dance patterns in a relaxed and fun way. Basically you leave their class sweaty and tired but invigorated.
Desiree is a pleasure to work with! She is very patient with beginners and good at breaking down the steps so that a person with very little experience can learn in a fun and low pressure way. She is also pretty flexible with with where the lesson can take place. We would definitely recommend her and are considering taking her group dance class after our wedding.
We had such a fun time with Marge! It was a great base for our upcoming wedding dance! We're looking forward to receiving a copy of our song from the band so that we can continue more date-night dance classes before the wedding :)
Jessica is very patient and caters to the level of her students. We had many first time dance students and she took the time to break down all the steps. She had a positive attitude and great energy throughout the class
My church wanted to do a program of three Latin Dance lessons over the course of a month. We looked for somebody to do this and we found the most marvelous teacher --- Ruth Caspary of Latin Connection Dance. First of all, she was really professional and easy to plan with. And she had good suggestions for the planning. We were able to fit in bachata, salsa, and American tango. Super! Second, she came on site (we have a great space with a wooden floor) with her equipment and music and was ready to teach. Third, she is a super teacher. She accounted for each person's abilities and was energetic and generous with her time. We all learned a lot and had great fun, too. Last, but not least, she is social and friendly, a good conversationalist as well as a great teacher. There's no question who we'd go to in the future.
Tara is our instructor. Her teaching methods are great and we are having fun! Tara is a sweet heart, and is super patient. Signed up for 10 classes for my hubby & I.
Isaac was a great experience. He’s a patient instructor. I’m a beginner and I learned so much from my first class. Looking forward to many more classes with Isaac.
Walter is a wonderful dance instructor. When I started learning dance, I was a complete novice. Walter structured my lessons in a sequential fashion that gradually built my skills to what some label "silver" level enjoyment. I especially like the way Walter took MY goals into consideration. I did not wish to compete, but to become a better than average dancer, focused mostly on smooth dance and some light rhythm, so that I might enjoy social dance opportunities. My weekly dance lessons have become the highlight of my week! 💃
Diana is a great teacher! She's super fun and friendly and we've really enjoyed having weekly classes with her!
Fitness is assured when you Samba do Coracao! Great workout! Routines are designed for your skill level. All participants feel the beauty of Samba learning their dance steps!
Sierra broke the dance into steps, made it easy to learn. She has grace in her dance. It wasn't like a class, very fun and had a good time learning dance from her. I highly recommend her
Hebert Aguilar Director of Timba Heat Dance Company is an amazing dance instructor and choreographer! His energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for dancing is very evident and contagious in his form of teaching. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned dancer, Hebert will challenge you and take your dancing skills to the next level while keeping the training extremely fun and highly addictive. Prior to taking private lessons and group classes from Hebert, I had no previous dance background but I can truly say that in a short amount of time he has helped me to become a more confident and well rounded dancer and performer. I am very thankful and grateful to have the pleasure of training under an extremely talented, patient and humble instructor. Whether your goal is to learn as a beginner, enhance your dancing skills, or perform in front of an audience, I would highly recommend Hebert Aguilar. Trust me you will not be disappointed. Check out his videos and performances on Facebook (Timba Heat) and Instagram (@Timbaheat).
In our small West Coast Swing group class, John always gave personal attention to each one of us. At the same time, he explained very well what West Coast Swing is so that we could feel how it's all about connection and fluidity. John was great at choosing the right tempo for our practice depending on the level(s) of those attending.
I've been taking private lessons in ballet and jazz from Zaire for about four months now, and I can confidently say that this was the best decision that I made this year! My only previous dance experience was five years ago, a beginner's class that my high school offered for physical education. Early this year, I decided that I wanted to try out for the dance team at my college, hoping I could train hard enough to prepare for auditions in September. Zaire has been the perfect dance teacher to help me work toward this goal. Every lesson, she pushes me more to perfect my technique, build up my stamina, and to really perform each movement. She works me VERY hard, but I've gotten in so much better shape and can see and feel improvement in every aspect of my dancing. Zaire instructs with the perfect balance of being tough with high expectations while keeping things fun and creating an environment in which working hard doesn't feel like work at all. She is a beautiful person who truly cares about her students! I am so blessed to have her as a dance teacher, and I recommend her to absolutely anyone who wants to experience the joy in dancing!
Olivia gave me the best introduction to Pilates ever! Having never tried it before, I was very nervous about taking a group class so when I saw a decently priced opportunity for an individual or duet class, I decided to try it out. Olivia was fantastic. She explained thoroughly what we were doing and why. I'm the type of person who prefers to know why. And I'm really glad she took the time to speak with me. Olivia geared our lessons to focus on what each I needed and wanted from this experience. She was constantly showing me what I was doing right or wrong and explaining why it should be done a certain way. One of the main reasons I wanted private lessons and not a class was because I was afraid of hurting myself by doing things incorrectly. I've been known to jump into things before without thinking them through. It has been amazing to have someone who takes the time to make sure you are exercising correctly and taking care of your body. I'm incredibly grateful to have taken classes with Olivia. I pay attention to little details on my body that I never noticed before, and I can see a difference in the way I carry myself and in how my body feels. I highly recommend working with Olivia if you have the opportunity. Thank you, Olivia!
I have been exercising at The Works since it began as a coop about 13 years ago (and before that in its previous incarnations). The morning classes are great - by which I mean challenging, never boring, fun and always changing. We have had consistently excellent aerobics, pilates, and yoga teachers and Sarah, our manager, keeps the studio running without a hitch. The atmosphere is upbeat, encouraging and friendly. It is a beautiful, airy, clean, well-lighted place to workout and dance. I can't recommend it enough - both to potential exercisers, dancers and to renters. Come and try it out!
