Neil has been awesome and I have learned so much since I started taking drum lessons with Neil about a year ago. I had been a recreational drummer for many years but was lacking guidance to take my drumming to the next level. Neil has a great program that focuses on reading music, playing rudiments and learning various drum beats for rock, funk and more. Neil also play bass, which has been a great accompaniment for practice sessions. In addition, Neil has given me great insights into practicing better with my band, tips for playing live and how to become a better musician in general. Very highly recommended!!

I strongly recommend Diego as an excellent professor of piano, who really motivates students to develop their ability. He gave piano lessons to my older daughter for more than 5 years since she was in high school, until some months ago. I am very grateful to Diego for encouraging Almudena, my daughter, to find a way of expressing herself through music.

Henry has been teaching both my 5 year old, and myself, hand drums. And facilitating a drum circle for us with families of 5-7 YOs. He's been great - very flexible to adjust to what we want, and finding the right things to teach us so we make progress focused on our interests. I'd highly recommend him!

I have been taking jazz piano lessons from Brent for the past 8 months and I've really enjoyed getting to work with him. He is very knowledgeable on the topic of jazz. Every week we practice improvising over jazz standards and he plays along with me on the piano or sometimes drums of there is a kit in the room. Brent if friendly and cares about his students. Would recommend to anyone wanting to take drum or piano lessons!

Ward is fantastic! My 7 year old son was interested in learning to play drums- Ward gave him the space to explore his studio and all of the percussion instruments in there, as well as the structure to start to learn. We are thrilled!

I have been with Otto for 2 months and an delighted with my progress. He is clearly a knowledgeable and skilled musician and teacher. He is building my drumming skills layer by layer. Each week I learn new techniques starting with the basics. As well, he shows patience and if I am puzzled he uses a different method to get the point across. I hold a master's degree and play another instrument so understand and recognize a good teacher.

    About

At our studio, we put your hands on drums and percussion instruments of various kinds and sizes to make joyful music. Our music director and instructor Baba Ken has more than three decades of experience in teaching African music and drumming. We provide our services to people of all skill levels — even professionals. We have school assemblies. We can teach private, big group, or small group classes. We can teach at your home, our studio, or any other place you choose. Travel adds expense to the hourly rate. We realize not everyone learns at the same pace; therefore, we invest a lot of time on each individual until they feel comfortable with a given lesson before attempting the next challenge. Learning to play the drums is like a baby's first attempt at crawling or walking: he or she falls down, gets up, and — with determination — finally learns the skill, feeling great pride in the accomplishment. Drumming for pleasure or excellence can create harmony of the mind, body, and spirit; it is a great thing you cannot afford to deny yourself. Just do it. Don't hesitate. Call today to take your first or second step.

    About

Hey, folks! I'm Nick, a touring and recording drummer from Oakland who has played and still plays all around the world. Drumming is my favorite thing to do. Check out my super extensive music resume at my website. I teach drums privately in my Oakland studio, at some of my students' homes, at the School of Rock at both of the Bay Area locations in San Francisco and San Mateo (these kids are amazing!), I teach as a substitute at the Academy of Language and Music Arts in Orinda, CA, and is exploring music in San Jose. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all music teaching. With that in mind, I tailor my lessons to each individual student's needs and interests. We start with the kind of music that you love most, and we slowly work outward from there, expanding the concepts. I've played and taught jazz (everything, from swing to seriously advanced Elvin Jones and Tony Williams' jazz drumming), hip-hop, R&B, indie rock, metal (blast beats and double bass), Afro-Beat (Gnawa rhythms, etc.), Southern Indian music, experimental and improvised playing, etc. We'll work on whatever you really want to do. Do you want to just learn the basics? Okay! Do you want to learn to play for fun in a garage band? Great! Do you want to be the next drummer for Slayer? Awesome! Do you want to learn drums, so you can produce better hip-hop beats on your MPC? Let's do it!

Have drum lessons with Bob Danielson, a seasoned teacher-performer. I've been teaching privately, beginners through professionals, for over 25 years. I am a professional drummer with a music studio in San Francisco. I'm well-versed in a wide variety of musical styles, have a long history in the music business, and a strong understanding of music theory, all of which serve me well as a drum instructor. Your lesson can be a half hour or one hour in length, it's up to you. For a beginner, for the first several lessons, I'll show you how to practice without a drum set, as you decide if drumming is for you. I have excellent references, gladly provided upon request. Thanks for considering me, Bob

First I’d like to thank you for considering me as a drum instructor. It is a privilege to work with musicians of any age, to share in that world wide conversation wherein we may learn a little something new about music. If we end up working together I hope the lessons might not only give you a few new licks and ways to orchestrate your rudiments, but also play some role in developing the way you think about music in general.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
