Raffia was my four year old grandson's (Taylor) piano teacher. From the very first day we entered her studio, she treated us with the utmost respect. I was so impressed on how well she worked with Taylor. She has a lot of patience and went out of her way to make sure we both understood his piano lesson. Taylor enjoyed going to see Ms Raffia to learn piano. He had a lot of fun. Without a doubt I would recommend Ms. Raffia to anyone who has a child considering taking Piano lessons. She is the greatest!!
For my 60th birthday, I decided that I would finally learn to play the saxophone, forty years after I gave up the clarinet. I have been taking weekly saxophone lessons from Fay for about nine months now, and will continue to do so. Fay is a very patient and encouraging teacher. She has taught me some music theory that I had never learned before, as well as the mechanics of playing the tenor sax. In addition, she is a talented improviser, and her love of music is always apparent. Lessons consist of a nice blend of scales and exercises, along with some very satisfying pieces of jazz and classical music. I recommend Fay without hesitation or reservation.
My 8-years-old daugther has developed a passion of learning a wind instrument, flute in particular. Last year, we met with Ms. Cheryl at a music center and my daughter really loved her teaching. We have been having a private flute lessons with Ms. Cheryl for more than a year. Ms. Cheryl is assertive as well as providing a positive and nurturing environment. She is not only talented but also manage to create a fun but challenging lessons for kids. I can see the improvement from my daughter. Most importantly, Ms. Cheryl is a member of MTAC, so I was really happy that my daughter was able to enroll into Certificate of Merit this year. Ms. Cheryl understands that Certificate of Merit is an important program for her students. Overall, I would highly recommend Ms. Cheryl as a flute instructor because of her professionalism and good teaching attitude.
Toby was my flute teacher throughout high school, and I credit her for my acceptance into the UCLA School of Music for Flute Performance. She taught me how to be disciplined in my practicing, and how to never give up, even when it got tough. She taught me how to succeed in a musically fast paced environment by teaching me tricks about tuning, and how to learn pieces in a short amount of time. I am eternally grateful for Toby's incredible teaching, and I will use the advice and insight she gave me for the rest of my musical career.
I started taking lessons with Toby about 5 months ago. I had been taking lessons for about a year and a half with another teacher after a 30 year hiatus from seriously playing flute. I have made tremendous progress with Toby. She is patient, yet pushes me to improve in all aspects of my playing. She is also teaching me music theory which none of my other flute teachers taught me. My flute lesson is the highlight of my week.
My thirteen year old daughter has been taking piano lessons from Leigh in her home for about one year. She has been kind and encouraging in her instruction. With her extensive education in music, she is able to teach technique and historical background. She has also been flexible with our schedule changes. We are very happy!
Just what I was looking for in a jazz piano teacher! He listened to my goals and is crafting a teaching strategy to make me a better musician while enjoying the process. Looking forward to more piano lessons in the future. He also teaches saxophone.

Natalia is a highly skilled and fantastic flute teacher! My daughter has excelled tremendously under her instruction and was recommended for Regionals as a 7th grader. Natalia individualizes her instruction to meet the needs and skill level of her students and move them along their own continuum. She is easy to talk, gentle and effective in her instruction and interactions. Natalia makes learning flute fun! My daughter looks forward to every lesson with Natalia. I highly recommend Natalia!
Heather Klenk has been my daughter's private clarinet teacher for 4 years. She has inspired my daughter to love music and to keep playing and work hard. If not for Heather's commitment, dedication and encouragement, Emily wouldn't be the confident and talented musician she is today. She has made such incredible progress and looks forward to each lesson with Heather. Thanks Heather for being such an amazing teacher!
Frank and his quartet are the best around. They were truly helped highlight our wedding ceremony. So blessed to have found Frank and his team. He is responsive, professional and very friendly. Great addition to the wedding!
I am dedicated to pursuing musical excellence while encouraging my students to enjoy and create music. I cater my lessons to each individual student's needs and personality. I strive to create a nurturing environment so my students will feel comfortable playing flute and piano. I enjoy teaching and I love watching my students grow as musicians and people.
I teach saxophone, flute, clarinet, music theory, and composition and arranging. I like to tailor my lessons to the needs and goals of my students while still giving them a firm base in the fundamentals of whatever they want to study. The main thing is I try and approach my teaching from as many different angles as possible. Not every mind is the same, so teaching means trying to accommodate all different ways of thinking.
My goal as a teacher is to personalize and tailor the instruction to meet the student's specific needs. If the student wants to learn how to sing and perform in public, I will focus the lesson time on musicality, flexibility, adaptability and just having fun! After all, enjoying yourself is the MOST important part of experiencing music.
