Mike is super cool and very patient, i've been playing for over 30 years. 2 years of classical guitar, a whole life of playing by ear, I played in a rock band and a punk band, studied heavy metal lead guitar (years of scale study), I changed my genre to rockabilly and swing during these years. I stopped play after a move to LA, I was diagnosed with cancer and went through radiation therapy, during my rehab I unpacked my gear and started playing again. I started listening to country blues, gypsy jazz, western swing, and blue grass. My wonderful wife enrolled me into Artisticworks Academy of Bluegrass (Flat picking). I got deep into the realms of the music surrounding this style of music and found that I loved the rhythm parts of this music and fell in love with this wonderful back beat!!! I searched the Internet for months and only found the solo and finger picking style of this genre. After months of frustration looking for tabs or anything that would lead me down this path. I decided to seek out instructors in my area and thumbtack popped up with several qualified instructors, after a few weeks of thought and trying to figure out the the chord progressions by ear I decided to contact Mike, and in these last few weeks of continued frustration the clouds are starting to clear, Mike is leading me down the path of music theory. Mike can see my frustration learning this and assures me everything will be make complete sense in no to time 150,000 percent!!! I have learned so much in 3 week then I have in over 25 years of hardcore jamming (believe me I rocked the metal) this new genre is so opposite of what I know and he sees this and helps me work work with my frustration. If you are looking for an excellent instructor this is the dude!!! Thanks Mike!!!

I have been learning guitar under the guidance of Dave for going on 3 years. I have enjoyed the experience and appreciate his capability to nurture the playing style and likes of the student. Dave finds ways for the student to build and improve with each lesson based on the students interests. From learning about scales, building chords, fundamentals and proper practicing, I also got singing guidance as well as music theory and history. I enjoy coming to lessons each week as I have learned to play songs by many of the artists I admire and look up to, and wasn't able to learn on my own. I continue to grow my passion for music through my guitar, and it helps to have a teacher that recognizes your talents, but offers you suggestions on how to improve. Dave will take the time and patience to make sure you are executing your playing properly, while paying attention to the details and nuances that make the guitar such an emotional instrument. I look forward to many more Guitar lessons with Dave.

I wanted a teacher that could work with an older adult who not had piano lessons since childhood. After many years, I wanted to challenge myself by getting back into piano and I wanted to bring music back into my life. I was a bit nervous about making the commitment and about the time investment that would be required. I also didn’t know a good teacher so I asked around. Howard’s name came up. He was recommended as a patient and knowledgeable teacher that would do wonders with students. Howard’s approach is not the conventional one that I experienced as a child. He presents many types of approaches and uses lots of tools and techniques to build your skills and understanding of the structure of music. Now, I’m stretching myself to learn, remember and apply these skills and it feels really good! I actually enjoy practicing my piano. Now thats a testimony to Howard’s influence! If you are looking for a teacher that can accommodate your needs, encourage and inspire you, meet Howard and try him out. I’m confident that you will be very pleased with him as a professional and as a teacher.

Simply Music piano lessons are a most wonderful learning experience for me. I am a fifty-something with no prior music knowledge and I did not think that I have a music bone in me. Sheri believes, and she convinced me, that all of us have music in us and that Simply Music can teach us to enjoy and play music at any skill level. That is amazingly true. Sheri is an experienced and very good teacher. She is always very positive and encouraging, making playing the piano a lot of fun; she is resourceful in coming up with ideas to help us remember music pieces better, and constantly reminding us that we now have the tools to help ourselves in our music journey. I love that.

I have worked with Bob on various levels. First, Bob provided me with private guitar lessons for several years. Bob made the learning experience fun and enjoyable. I was able to learn and play the kind of music that I wanted to play. Bob is also very patience (staying with me for so many years is a true testament to this!). My youngest son Michael also took private guitar lessons from Bob. On a more professional level, Bob and his band performed at my oldest son's (Bobby) wedding receipion. It was a "blast" with all of the guests dancing and singing. I actually received a call years later from an attending guest asking for Bob's contact information for their wedding reception (obviously they had very fond memories of the event and Bob's music). If and when my 2 remaining kids get married, I can guaranty Bob will be going the music. He makes an event a real party!!!

Bennett has an extraordinary ability to zero in on his student's skills and musical affinities... He has a nerdy, highly precise knowledge of the instrument, of guitar technique and of music history... Months ago I would barely sing with anyone else in the room, and didn't know how to play guitar. This morning I played guitar and harmonized with Bennett on a Stones song. Take music lessons with Bennett - only good can come of it.

Working with Larry has been worth my while. I had no experience in guitar when I first began lessons. Mr. Haney took it one step at a time making sure I was understanding the material. His methods really helped me catch on pretty quickly and even when I had trouble we went at my pace. He is very easy going and a pleasure to talk to. Mr. Haney is punctual to lessons and always communicates with his students. He is flexible and understanding with your time. I highly recommend taking guitar lessons with Larry whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years.

My daughter (seen in his pics) has been receiving guitar lessons from Steven for almost two years and has been playing for 5 1/2 years. Before Steven, her lessons were monotonous and boring. She liked playing but wasn't really inspired. All that changed when Steven became her instructor. In the time, she has been playing with Steven, she started loving to play guitar again. He has helped with songwriting, lyrics and putting chords to her lyrics, music theory and just getting her level of play to advance. He is very good with her especially when she isn't in to it some days. Steven knows how to get her out of her funk and back into a good mood and her lessons. I love listening to them jam during their sessions. Steven is the inspiration she needed! I would definitely recommend Steven!

I can't say enough about my experience with Andrew, the owner of Harmony Music, he's AWESOME! He has helped me achieve my lifelong dream of playing the guitar and playing it right away. He actually had me playing some good classic songs on the first lesson so I didn't feel like I was just learning some boring scales and techniques - I was learning and having fun doing it. That's not to say my fingers didn't get sore, they did, but it didn't stop me from continuing on and with Andrew's support and encouragement, it makes me want to keep stretching and learning and having fun. I recommend him to anyone who will listen to me!!

Zach has taught our daughter for 2 years. She has learned more than we can every imagine in this period of time. Not only has she become a more skilled guitar player and vocalist, she has come to love songwriting. Even more important, Zach has coached our daughter through several important events and encouraged her as she stretched herself by musically and personally. By example, he has helped transform her from a simple guitar student taking weekly lessons to a musician eager to do more, try more and stretch beyond what she thought we limits. Even more important to us, Zach has help nurture a self-confidence that can only come from learning from a vibrant, enthusiastic, talented coach and artist. He has forever impacted our daughter's life and will be a part of her story for years to come.

My customers like my work because the way I teach and give services is unique and professional. I have a special technique to approach the way the classical guitar should be taught. If you try it for a month, it will prove itself to you. I teach live lessons online as well, so it does not matter where you live, plus you save gas and time. Call me, and I will explain how.

About

I have been playing the guitar for about four years and mostly play rhythm guitar. However, I do play a few solos. Nonetheless, I can teach you basic guitar chords all the way to bar chords, eventually learning full songs. In addition, I can teach how to tune your guitar in standard tuning by ear. Although I did attend a guitar class at Ventura College twice and dropped it, I did study my guitar textbook for about two hours daily until I was self-taught, playing all of my favorite songs. Lastly, although I teach, I am still improving my own technique and hope to help someone play his/her favorite songs as well.
