I am willing to teach adults who always had a dream to learn how to play the piano. Any age is welcome!
My years of experience. My prior teaching experience as a music teacher in an elementary school. My education...graduate of the Guitar Institute. I know all styles of guitar, classical, electric, jazz, acoustic, and bass. I have impressive references. I travel to my students homes.I read music and can teach that and theory as well. I also write music and sing as well as perform.
I have 3 programs - traditional private piano lessons (ages 6 1/2 and up), Let's Play Music (ages 4-6) and Sound Beginnings (ages 2-4) Let's Play Music is a 3-year music theory course for starting ages 4-6, that emphasizes total musicianship through piano playing, singing, classical music, note reading, and ear training, and that's accomplished through play! Let's Play Music is based on the philosophies of Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff. Students learn to read rhythms by saying bug notes (four 16th notes is "cat-er-pil-lar"), learn chord progressions through colors (I is a red chord, IV is a blue chord, V is a yellow chord) and much more. They start on the autoharp and bell set for their 1st year and transfer the skills they learned to the piano on the 2nd and 3rd year. They learn advanced theory skills while also developing their ear skills. By the end of the program, the students compose their own song and play it at the recital. Let's Play Music is a great program both for students who want to go on and study classical music and those who want to play popular music since it teaches the necessary skills for both. Ear training, composing, transposing, and an understanding of chords are very important skills for the contemporary 21st-century musician that are often neglected in traditional piano lessons. These are huge focuses in Let's Play Music and in my private piano lessons as well.
My daughter has been receiving lessons from Julie for 3.5 years now and I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for a teacher that is personable and truly cares for your child and enjoys nurturing their love for music and the piano then look no further.
Lyza is able to connect with young children and adapt to different learners. She started with our son when he was 3.5 and he was very interested in actually playing Instruments. Most folks just turned us down and told us to take one of those toddler group classes as he was too young for real lessons. The classes were all nice but not all that interesting to him. We tried several different places. All with great reviews like swallow hill and such. Lyza has a great balance of structure, free form, global exploration with the various instruments she brings with her, focus on specifics of an instrument and learning to read music. She is also a really intelligent, kind and fun person who you can completely trust with your child. Value - she comes to your home for 45 per hour. And it's a full hour. Often a bit longer. That is an amazing value. At |15-30 for various 45 minute group classes you are better off doing lessons with lyza every other week.

I have been an independent music instructor for over 25 years. I teach piano, classical guitar, electric guitar, cello, drums and music theory. I provide long-term support for students of all ages.
Roxy gave a very good first lesson with excitement and an obvious passion for the piano. She set up a solid foundation of principles for future lessons.
Piano instruction and performance offered by Janice Saffir, D.M.A. for all levels and all ages. I am a retired university piano faculty (Truman State University) member.
So far, Gen, has only had two lessons. However, she likes Karen immensely. Has high enthusiasm. Karen's studio is surely music centered. Make a "note" of that. Hope you like my pun.
Appassionata Piano Studio offers piano lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced students of all ages in a musically nurturing and goal-oriented environment.
I highly recommend Steve for jazz piano lessons. His lesson plan primarily revolves working through his self-written book, which provides you with a solid foundation of music / jazz theory. It covers everything from major and minor chords, 7th chords and their extensions/alterations, rhythm, bass lines, bebop and other altered scales, introductions and endings, and ii-V-I progressions – everything you need to know to be able to embellish and improvise jazz music. The book also covers all the major periods of jazz, giving you a sense of how jazz sounded through the decades, from ragtime to modal jazz, even latin jazz. It is important to note that I benefited the most from Steve’s guidance, not only following his book and its exercises. Steve has a wealth of knowledge; for decades, he’s been around the world, playing in bands, composing both jazz and classical music, performing in recitals, etc. He is willing to work with you, explaining things in a variety of ways until you can fully understand it. Also, he doesn’t just work off the book; you’ll have the opportunity to arrange and play some jazz standards! Steve is patient, kind, and very laid back. He’ll help you get comfortable with all your difficulties. For example, I had a confidence issue when I started, but Steve helped me get over that. I also had trouble with jazz swing rhythm, and we worked extensively on it, in addition to what the book had to offer. I took lessons under Steve for one year and almost made it through to the end of the book. I was one or two chapters off. I came in with minimal classical training and a bit of music theory knowledge, but I was motivated. With Steve’s help, I became a better musician than I ever thought I could get. My ear improved dramatically, and I can now pick out licks played by the jazz greats. I also loved jazz before I met Steve, but now I appreciate it a lot more on both an aesthetic and intellectual level. The reality is, jazz is difficult and it’s a marathon trying to get better, but Steve makes it fun. I struggled during Steve’s lessons more often than not, but I left each lesson feeling motivated to get back home and practice.
Kristine was the only one in the 6 teachers responding to my request who mentioned my interest in chords. In addition, chords, at my request, was a major focus of our first lesson together. Also, I can walk to lessons. Very satisfied!

I am a certified elementary teacher with a love for the arts. I have been playing the piano for 30 years including performing in several guilds and recitals. I love teaching others the beauty of piano including a little music theory, how to read music, and how music benefits the brain to learn other subjects.
I teach piano lessons four days per week at school and would like to pick up a few piano students during the weekends, from Fridays to Sundays. I have a piano in my home (quiet) and would prefer to teach there but am also willing to travel. I teach children ages seven and up, from beginners to intermediate levels. I will teach you to read music, rhythm and some theory.
Amy is great! She's patient with me, as a very new adult learner. She's very communicative and sends me things to work on. I really love the online format. I would definitely recommend Amy to other students!
My daughter just had her first paino lesson. We started right on time, and worked at my daughter's level. He explained everything well throughout the lesson and gave her age-appropriate "homework". He was very patient with a wiggly/chatty 5-year old!
My 12 yr old. daughter has been learning with Kathy for several months now and loves her playful and easy going style. She has learned a lot and is improving with each lesson. I definitely recommend Kathy to others.
Come learn your instrument while having fun! I teach all levels, from beginner to pro, and all ages with all styles of music. I have been teaching private lessons in the North/West Denver area for 20 years and performing since childhood. I also have one solo recording project with 11 cuts on it, and have recorded guest solo performances on other cd,s as well as group projects.
I am very passionate about music and I greatly enjoy passing on the theory and methods of learning that I was taught when I first started. I try to make each lesson fun and challenging according to the students abilities. I also try to incorporate a healthy blend of ear training and music theory into each lesson so that the student is growing holistically as a musician.
