Being a first time author, Christopher Cervelloni had a work load ahead editing my manuscript. He scheduled me within a few weeks after my request for editing and finished it quickly. Christopher's constructive three page commentary explaining his editing process, suggesting better ways to assemble sentence structure and develop content demonstrated his skill in helping me achieve a remarkably improved manuscript. When doubting my novice writing abilities, Christopher's positive encouragement improved my mindset toward one of I can do it. He listens well, is to the point and professional. I will definitely use Christopher for future projects and highly recommend him to others. Vicki Largen Mauer

I highly recommend Nancy Sparrow and Sparrow Solutions for all business and household support! I have used their Business Services and their Personal Concierge services since 2008. I have 100% trust in them. Nancy is a dynamic person and I trust her and her team to do whatever it takes to get things done. On the personal side...they manage my credit cards, finances, my son's schedule, my calendar, travel arrangements, household projects, errands, storage units, etc. As a note...she is also a very solid editor of copy. On the Business Services side, SS provides admin support, inventory, operational support, business development and research, marketing and sales, writing and editing as well as lots of projects we don't have specific staff for. It would be a mistake not to go with Sparrow Solutions.

When the time came for my daughter to apply to professional schools, we wanted an expert writer and editor to teach her how to polish the required essay she had written to accompany her application. We hired Savan Associates, and couldn't have been happier with the results. Savan Associates worked back-and-forth by email with my daughter, had her rewrite her essay three times to incorporate information missing from the prior drafts, and provided questions and comments on each draft to help her fill in any remaining blanks. Then Savan Associates coached her on how to condense that information into a final draft. Not only was her final essay concise, dynamic, and jammed with pertinent details, all within the maximum character count, but it precisely captured my daughter, her background and experience, her love of animals, and the reasons she should be accepted to vet school. Most valuable was how Savan Associates educated my daughter on writing and editing. This tutoring process not only enabled her to refine her essay into the product she desired for her veterinary school application, but also helped her improve her written communication skills for the long-term. Best of all, my daughter was accepted into five vet schools, including one of the top-ranked schools in the country. We know her excellent grades, GRE scores, and personal interviews had much to do with her acceptances, but we have no doubts her essay helped distinguish her from the competition. S. L. Z. Alec edited my book for me as well as helped to create marketing materials for my new start up business. While editing the book he was able to articulate complex concepts in a beautiful way--very clearly and succinctly. He challenged me on areas that were inconsistent in the book which made the overall result SO much better...much higher quality and consistency. I could finally relax knowing that Alec had looked at my work and fixed what needed fixing! He is a treasure and I am so grateful for his work and his guidance.

I don’t edit for writers, but with writers. Yes, I’ll make changes and comments and suggestions and omissions and give you my educated opinions, but writing is a communal activity. It exists in an interactive space, a place where a writer can explore all types of creativity. My job as your editor is to guide and shape your writing, to bolster what’s working and encourage it—and you—to keep going. You write. I observe, engage, and respond. Then together we comb out the tangles and add in some conditioner—because that’s what working with me as your editor will be like: we’ll smooth out the rough drafts, give it all a solid foundation so then the story can continue to grow. General edits and line edits. Private lessons: Tell Chelsey what you want to work on, and she'll choose a book that she thinks would be helpful in accordance to your wants/needs, and will read the book with you. She will assign weekly lessons and questions about different craft aspects in the book, as well as writing exercises. Each week, the writer emails Chelsey a piece of writing under 2000 words (either a single piece of writing or a selection of smaller pieces), and she'll do those hardcore edits. The amount of writing you send to Chelsey is up to you. Some people like to get comments on the writing exercises provided to them. Some like to submit the latest version of a piece she/he/ze is working on. Either of these options--or any other ones you might come up with--are fine. The focus here is on your writing. Chelsey will accommodate for and support all of the ways in which you want to learn and work.

Much of my background has resulted from writing and editing for major newspapers, including the Wichita (KS) Eagle, the Denver (CO) Post and the Pacific Stars & Stripes, and also the Tokyo Bureau of Associated Press. I was co-publisher of three books for attorneys and judges, one of which was purchased by the Colorado Bar Assn. and now pays us occasional royalties. I have produced dozens of periodical newsletters for public and private sector organizations, as well as speeches, brochures and advertisements for political candidates and referendum sponsors. My university major was creative writing.

      About

I am an experienced editor for up and coming authors, as well as previously published authors. Lengths of the books, whether short, long, or in a series that has to all be edited at once not does matter. I will edit any genre of books, however I am most experienced in romance, paranormal, and young adult novels.

      About

I am a teacher in the Denver area who also has experience editing. In the late 1990s, I did some copy editing for Community Health Center Management magazine. After I started teaching in 2000, I continued to edit publications for the Colorado Bar Association's Continuing Legal Education department. I also have helped several graduate students polish their papers. I have a bachelor's degree from CU in Linguistics and have always had an interest in and talent for grammar and spelling. I would be happy to look over your writing and offer suggestions if you feel it needs a little tweaking.

I offer reading, writing, and test prep tutoring services to all ages. After graduating with honors from Lesley University with an M.Ed. in English Education, I worked for three years as an English teacher. During this time, I taught English 8, English 10, English 12, AP Language & Composition, Creative Writing, and SAT Reading & Writing. I also taught after school and weekend SAT Prep sessions. I am a licensed educator for English 8-12 in both Massachusetts and Texas. I also hold a supplementary license in special needs education in Texas. Additionally, I have experience working with both special needs students and English language learners. I left teaching when my husband's job moved us to Colorado and we decided to have a baby. I've been working as a freelance writer and editor for over a year. However, I miss working with students and am looking to expand my services into tutoring.
