Our daughter who attends Denver School of the Arts has been taking weekly classical guitar lessons from Michael for about a year. Michael has been a great fit for her. He is highly educated skilled technically, and has an approach that makes a tween girl not dread her lessons. Her position, music reading and technique have improved quite a bit over the year. Michael is professional, nice and has a good sense of humor to boot. We had tried lessons with 2 other instructors and he is overall much better than the other teachers.
I recently turned 50 and I've always wanted to learn to play guitar, but didn't know where to start or that I could even grasp playing at my age. I lucked out and found Jeff here on thumbtack. I've been under Jeff's tutelage for three months now and I've already learned cords, songs, strum patterns and much more. It is exciting to finally be playing and Jeff has been fantastic part of this experience! Jeff is a great instructor, he is vastly knowledgeable, patient and takes time with you to get you to your goal! Jeff is also a consummate pianist and I will be taking piano lessons with him! Looking for a guitar and piano instructor, definitely give Jeff a try!
Deciding to take guitar lessons at 60 was a little nervous but Jeff and his instructors were great to work with and are familiar with all types of music. I highly recomend their method of teaching.
Mary has done a great job with teaching me how to play guitar! I'm a beginner and she has taught me all of the basics and music theory. She's also provided books for me to take home and practice, which has been extremely helpful. Definitely recommend Mary for anyone wanting to learn guitar from a more technical side.
This was is my first time at guitar lessons out side of a family member several decades ago. Catherine makes you feel at home. She is well scripted and informative.
I am very much a beginner to guitar and Jeff had me playing my first song by the second lesson. I have been working with him for about a little more than 4 months now and have significantly improved. I am able to play many songs and Jeff is very present during our meetings to help correct me and encourage me. You will not regret hiring Jeff. His enthusiasm for playing guitar and music in general is infectious. He is also teaching my boyfriend to play the bass so his skills are not only limited to guitar.
I am so lucky to have found Rick. I not only am learning songs, he is also teaching me the theory of music and how chords are formed. I am new to guitar, had my second lesson and can figure out most chords. He teaches the direction I'm interested in. I can't wait to see what he teaches me next. I have coworkers that have been playing the guitar for a long while and I already know more about notes, cordes and theory than they do. Now I just need to practice, practice, practice to be able to play as well as they do. And some day, I hope to be better. With Rick, I believe I will be, in time.
My son was hesitant to start his guitar lessons, and if he didn’t like it, it would be a major ordeal to get him in the car to go. I work like everyone and have zero time left. The fact that Tess comes to the house to teach - while I prepare dinner - is freaking awesome. What a time saver. And shes made it a great experience by offering tons of encouragement and lots of laughter wrapped up in a neat 30 min session. Highly recommend.
My children have very much enjoyed learning piano with Jeremiah. He is very patient with them and nicely caters their lessons to their learning styles and potential. We look forward to continuing our lessons with him!
Ive taken guitar lessons with Gene for over 5 years. My guitar experience prior to meeting Gene was very limited. So limited that I didnt even own a guitar pic nor how to properly hold/use one. I never felt that I needed guitar lessons as I had taught myself many other hobbies in the past. Practice makes perfect was a motivational phrase I often told myself. It wasnt till a failed audition at my local church that I realized my practicing wasnt producing the results I had wanted/expected. I started working with Gene and immediately identified that a majority of my current abilities were based upon improper techniques. I didnt fully appreciate or understand proper technique as its affects were not always apparent in my playing. As my lessons progressed and technique improved, I realized that my motivational slogan wasnt complete. I now say; proper practice makes perfect. Working with Gene got me back on track with learning to play guitar. I have confidence when practicing knowing that the time Im investing is not being wasted on bad habits. A lot has changed since starting lessons with Gene. I re-auditioned at church and made the worship team! I regularly played lead guitar at my church and was content with my playing ability. I decided to stop lessons as I now had a solid foundation and figured that I could pick up anything I didnt know from online videos. This was one of biggest mistakes Ive made. Quickly after being on my own, I began to realize the lacking quality and musicianship in the countless tutorial videos found on YouTube. Its easy finding online song lesson, however, its very rare to find someone teaching it correctly or true to the album. I remembered working with Gene and not only learning the EXACT riffs and leads to a song, but also the artists style, tone and effects used. Over the years I became accustom to learning and sounding just like the artist I was trying to replicate. This quality of instruction I have only been able to find while working with Gene. I noticed that my interested in playing guitar faded after I ended lessons. I just didnt have the excitement to learn new songs or challenge myself to play better on the ones I did know. After a long sabbatical I decided to start back up lessons with Gene. Fast forward a few years; I now look forward to practicing nightly and regularly play with multiple churches within the Denver Metro area. I would not be where I am musically today without Genes guidance and inspiration. Hes a great mentor and continues to challenge me to be a better musician. Looking back, if I could change anything about my experience with Gene, it would be starting lessons with him sooner and never taken a break.
I have been taking guitar lessons from Calvin at the Denver Music Institute. As an adult learner, I really appreciate his pacing and passion. His flexibility in dealing with an adult student who has a full-time job and kids has been exceptional. I would recommend him to anyone.
If you are seeking guitar lessons take this into account: You're going to learn the chords and strum patterns regardless of who teaches you. The trick is finding someone who is passionate about music and teaching it to others. Outstanding is not a word I sling around haphazardly, but Dave has earned it. Dave is very passionate about his music, is a very talented musician and he sincerely enjoys passing along his knowledge to others. If you chose Dave as your instructor, you will not be disappointed in any way. His price is a great value.
Renee is super awesome and helpful with my singing lessons. Definitely recommend.
Great guy! Relaxed atmosphere. I call it Guitar Therapy.
I’ve been taking guitar lessons with Nicholas Keith for a few weeks now. He is such a great instructor, very nice, and is very patient with newbies like me! I highly recommend him for anyone looking to take guitar lessons in the Denver area!
Just starting my lessons with Zach, but so far he seems like a stand-up dude who is very patient and helpful. We are working on theory and technique and I can't wait to see where he takes me musically. Looking forward to continuing my lessons with him.
My 2 teenage sons took guitar lessons from Ronnie for 1 year. He did an awesome job! We were referred to him by a friend who has been taking lessons from him for years. Ronnie was a much better teacher than their previous teacher and for the same price. We were very pleased with Ronnie! My sons both said that they liked Ronnie as a guitar teacher, and that, "he really knew his stuff!" Ronnie chose good/fun songs for them to play and he challenged them to be better guitar players. As a parent I found Ronnie to be very personable, professional and educated. He is a true musician! Thank you Ronnie for all that you taught my sons!
We love Jeremy and Modern Music Studio! Our boys have been taking guitar lessons from Jeremy for two years, and he makes it fun. They love going, and Jeremy goes out of his way to get them excited about music and customize their lessons. Highly recommend.
Throughout my time taking lessons from Jason, I've learned not only how to play guitar in the sense of reading sheet music and tablature, but have also learned about the deeper aspects of guitar like how to choose a guitar that's best for you and how to properly care for that guitar. Subjects like music writing, improvising, scales, and even singing exercises are taught with ease and in a way that makes understanding them even easier. Overall, working with South Metro Guitar has proved to be a great experience and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is serious about taking their guitar skills to the next level.
Brett is an excellent guitar instructor for kids of all ages and old farts like me!
My daughter loved taking guitar lessons from Jeff. He was willing to try any genre!
