Sondra T. says, "I contacted StookU and told them what I expected from a teacher, and they paired me with Johnny-Ray, who is AMAZING! Every lesson is taped so you are able to go and back and review. There is also a Google doc link with uploaded material as you learn. The cost of lessons is reasonable. The best part, though, is my teacher, Johnny-Ray. He plays several instruments and is knowledgable about music theory and music history. When asked a question, he always has the answer. I take guitar with him. I liked him so much that my husband also started taking guitar lessons with him, but he teaches other things too. My hsuband enjoys the lessons as well. Johnny-Ray is a quality teacher. My husband and I are at different levels on the guitar and have different goals, and he created a separate and distinct lesson plan for each of us. He is always on time and ready to work. I have nothing but glowing things to say about him. A+ Experience."See more

When I decided I wanted to start over and learn classical guitar from a professional teacher I went hunting for a great teacher. Before starting lessons with Peter I met with a couple other guitar teachers and gauged them against others I have known. I chose Peter because I found him to be everything I was looking for. Peter is smart. He is both a highly skilled player and a talented teacher. He is dedicated to teaching guitar vs teachers who don’t primarily play guitar or teachers who don’t have any training in guitar pedagogy. Peter is a great communicator in general, which has helped us navigate my complicated schedule and tailor my instruction to my needs and interests. Peter seems to be flexible and realistic with the curriculum he devised for me and the goals we set. Peter has a great personality for teaching.
