I purchased my first guitar just a few weeks before deciding to find a teacher, and I was hesitant about getting started. However, Jordan made the learning process both enjoyable and approachable. In our first lesson, we started with the very basics like going over the different types of guitars and fundamental techniques, which helped me feel more comfortable. Jordan is patient, knowledgeable, and great at breaking things down in a way that’s easy to understand. Each lesson is well-structured, and I appreciate how he tailors the sessions to my pace while still challenging me to improve. We begin each lesson by reviewing what I’ve been practicing throughout the week before diving into topics ranging from music theory and strumming patterns to chords and picking. Since starting lessons, I’ve gained confidence in basic chords, strumming patterns, pentatonic scales, and even improvisation. Jordan is always encouraging, making learning guitar a fun and rewarding experience. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and supportive guitar teacher!

I was a self-taught intermediate guitar player before using thumbtack to hire a teacher. I started out by trying out 2 other guitar teachers from Thumbtack. Justin really impressed me right off the bat for his knowledge of music theory and its practical application to help me achieve my guitar goals. I've seen drastic improvements already, and now have a much better understand of what I need to focus on. His lessons are really flexible and geared towards what I want to be learning. His rates are amazing, and he really goes out of his way to do an amazing job. I strongly suggest starting by booking him for one lesson and I am positive you won't regret it. I have been taking guitar lessons with Anthony for a couple months now and have seen significant improvement. One of the many things I have appreciated so far is that the lessons are always tailored to the individual and their learning style. Anthony also has an unbelievably expansive knowledge of not only multiple instruments, but music, music history, and music theory as a whole. As a result, the lessons feel very dynamic and you learn concepts from multiple different angles. You learn from seeing, hearing, and playing. His expertise shines through in his ability to explain difficult concepts in simple terms and in different ways until it makes sense. He's also just a fun person to be around! The studio is also really nice and comfortable. 10/10 would recommend going to Anthony for lessons. I look forward to it every week and it has kept me feeling challenged, motivated, and excited to learn.

After a delay in hearing back from the pros I originally reached out to, Duncan actually reached out to me! Now I’ve had weekly lessons with him for almost two months and it is one of the highlights of my week. He is patient and great about checking in on my goals/pain points which makes me feel like I am in total control of my journey and soothed my nerves around being an adult beginner. I feel comfortable showing up with the progress I have/haven’t made between lessons and constantly feel motivated to keep learning and practicing.
