After losing close to 150 lbs. over 18 months with Weight Watchers, I started training with Dana at the beginning of October 2015. I had lost the weight but had done no strength training prior to that point. Dana asked the right questions and immediately got me working on strengthening my core and building muscle mass that I had never really had before. With the massive weight loss, I had to relearn movement, balance and more. Dana has tailored my training plan to accomplish this successfully. She educated me on proper nutrition with specific instructions on protein and carbohydrate intake in conjunction with Weight Watchers. The difference I have seen since that time has been fantastic. Working with Dana I’ve seen my body weight continue to drop while my lean muscle mass has increased. I’m seeing the toning and definition that I hoped for. My massage therapist has commented on the difference she’s seen in my muscle tone and the strengthening of various muscle groups due to the workout program Dana laid out for me. I know this difference is because of the guidance and encouragement from Dana over this time. I’m also a runner, having completed two Half Marathons since December 2015. With the core and endurance training Dana has put me through, I’ve cut over 3 minutes per mile off of my running pace in the last 3 months. Her style is direct and honest, which I appreciate. She doesn’t pull her punches and doesn’t sugar coat things. That makes a world of difference when your focus is actually seeing noticeable results. At the same time, she’s been extremely supportive and encouraging since day 1. I know that the progress I’ve made physically and in my self-confidence are directly related to the instruction, guidance and support Dana has given me. If you want results from a trainer that knows how to achieve definable and measureable goals, you need to work with Dana and give her 100% of your effort. You will see results. When I made the decision to work with a nutritionist, I wouldn't say I was necessarily at a rock bottom and needed to make some major life changes. I’ve actually never felt like I was obscenely over weight, and I’ve always ate relatively healthy meals. I didn’t go to a nutritionist with the intention of learning how to love vegetables. I have (and will always) love salads and plates full of vegetables. The breaking point for me was that no matter how hard I worked out or how healthy I felt like I was eating, I could never push myself past a certain plateau. I felt stuck at 165lbs with flabby arms and unattractive back & stomach fat. For awhile, I was just telling myself its ok, this is who I am. When I got with Stephanie, we set goals to tone up, drop a few pounds and create new patterns for healthier eating. To my surprise, I have kept up with the plan and plan on continuing to do so. I attended the veggie-slaws class. It was a one-hour session. The dishes were simple enough to make at home on my own, healthy and tasty! Pam's teaching method is hands-on, but not overwhelming. She teaches you how to make the dish and supplies you with a manual to take home! As she is a nutritionist, she informed me of the health benefits of the dishes we made. Pam is very personable. Sara has been my main nutritionist for the past few years. After years of suffering from chronic migraine headaches, I finally took her advice to focus on the gut/brain relationship. Upon her advice, I gave up gluten and sugar and as a result gave up all my migraine medications. She realized that my gastrointestinal problems were directly related to the headaches. I lost over 10% body fat in the last few months- Absolutely amazing! I never had to starve myself or go without. Matt showed me how to combine my macronutrients correctly at the right times to get my body to stop looking at my fat reserves as a source of survival and more of a hindrance that needed to be BURNED. Working with Matt via a nutrition plan I lost 10 lbs of pure fat in the last few months. On top of that I put on a few pounds of much needed muscle.
