Melody made herself available on short notice to help my daughter get ready for a musical audition. She is very encouraging, building confidence about what my daughter does well while pointing out areas to improve without being negative. She is, of course, technically knowledgable, so we trust her instruction. We plan to continue with voice lessons no matter how the audition goes. Melody is everything we hoped to find in a vocal coach.
Mike is an amazing instructor. He teaches me songs I want to learn based on my skill level. This makes me really look forward to our lessons because I'm learning stuff I want to. I am an adult learning guitar and I have been given the same amount of encouragement that he would his other "younger" students :) I highly recommend the guitar lessons at Sollohub.
I had a very positive first experience with Mary. She is very nice and I can see that she is knowledgeable. I look forward to taking vocal lessons and organ lessons from her.
Catherine is such a beautiful person who made me feel so welcome and comfortable taking voice lessons for the first time. She is very knowledgable about her craft, and helped me gain the confidence and skills to break out of my comfort zone and sing with other musicians :) I would highly recommend Catherine especially if you are interested in exploring jazz, an area in which she has a lot of experience to offer.
Ruth is a wondeful piano instructor who is tailoring her lessons to my daughters needs and interests. Currently she is working with her to write her own songs. My daughter loves her lessons!
We signed up for Traveling Music Teachers last week because we liked the idea of not driving our son to his music lesson - I have three kids, so driving all over town isn't always an option. A professional musician came to our house and did the lesson in my living room while I made dinner. It was perfect. Well done.
Jeremiah is a great teacher for piano and voice, youth and adults.
Amazing teacher!! She has taken my 7 year old daughter so far in her lessons, we really love Ms Tanya!
Gene has been a great teacher thus far for a first time guitar player at the age of 29. He structures his teachings to how I prefer to learn, and keeps the lessons and the students weekly practices fun and entertaining. Gene offers for his students to call him during the week between lessons to ask questions or seek help with something you may be struggling with. He expects and welcomes mistakes which helps facilitate a comfortable learning environment. And most importantly he emphasizes that playing guitar should be FUN!!
My son went to DMI for voice lesson. He got a great lesson.
I studied with Karen before and had to stop for a while. When I decided to come back to voice lessons, I checked around, but realized that Karen's methods were the best. She makes sure that you understand what is happening with your voice and why. She is also very compassionate and intuitive, and understands that sometimes when I'm struggling with my voice, it's not because I am incapable, but that there could be something emotional behind it. Not only that, but taking lessons with Karen has improved my confidence and self esteem tremendously! I always leave her lessons feeling good about myself - even when she is tough on me, I know that she cares about not just my voice, but about me.
Joshua is an extraordinary voice teacher. Working with him vastly increased my confidence in my vocal technique, ear training, sight reading, and ability to express the essence of a piece of music. I also learned a great deal from him about music theory and history. He is kind, patient, and a joy to study and make music with.
Allie Tyler is the most talented and dedicated music instructor I know. I have been taking voice lessons with her for a few months now, and I have learned and continue learning so much about my voice and music theory. I definitely recommend her services to anyone passionate about music.
Anji is a gifted, experienced and holistic voice coach. My life and my voice are forever changed thanks to her guidance. Her individualized lessons combined traditional voice coaching with yoga and breath work and were perfect for my needs and desires. I feel stronger and more powerful in voice, body and spirit thanks to our lessons together. Sessions were fun, meaningful and productive!
Jordan from Set Apart Studios responded immediately after I submitted my request through Thumbtack. He was by far the most responsive instructor and helped us with all things piano-related in addition to providing free trial lessons for everyone. After the lesson he sent us easy pieces with arrangements we could understand from what he'd taught us, and now we are all playing Amazing Grace after one lesson. I'm so pleased!
I had always wanted to take voice lessons and just never did. Then Kristine showed up. She herself is a remarkable singer, and not only does she help me understand the mechanics and physiology of the act of singing, she puts me completely at ease. We always have a lot of fun, and her encouragement is so appreciated. I highly recommend her!
Ever since I was little I always loved singing, and Meghan Dawson was my first singing teacher: definitely the most special one I've ever had. She is very professional, patient, has a lot of knowledge, and always taught me that the most important aspect about singing is vocal health. She taught me a lot about voice physiology, and even though I was very young to understand the complexity of the vocal mechanisms, I was able to learn a lot and to develop a voice control and awareness from the time I was 14. She taught me for almost 4 years and I couldn't be more thankful because she introduced me to the opera world and I simply fell in love with it, and now I'm the youngest soprano in the Academy of Opera at the São Pedro Theatre in Brazil. Now, even though I don't have lessons with her anymore, I continue to learn and develop, but only because I had a very good teacher. She will always be my friend and my favorite teacher in the whole world, the one who always believed in my potential above everything, and the one I owe all my accomplishments to. With her, you are definitely in good hands. Anna Beatriz Gomes
Before having lessons with Leandro I loved singing, but I had a hard time with high notes and with keeping my voice stable. It also felt like singing was really tiring. I hardly ever had a sound I actually liked and that was comfortable and easy to recreate. After my first few lessons my voice already felt much more stable, and I learned several exercises that helped me a lot. After every lesson I felt a big difference in the way I handled my voice; singing was way easier and much more pleasant! I think that the time I spent working on my voice with Leandro was crucial to being able to reach my goals and to feel like it is possible to get incredible results with technique and knowledge of your instrument! A lot of the things that I apply today to both singing and speaking I learned with Leandro.
Gudrun has been amazing! When my daughter first started voice lessons, her breathing and diaphram work was severely lacking. Since working with Gudrun, she now has a 4-octave range and is in all the top choirs at school. Additionally, her piano, chord progression and sight-reading skills have come a long way!
Arias and Arpeggios provides piano and voice lessons for my children. Their favorite experience was performing on an outdoor stage for a crowd.
Eric taught all 3 of my kids for over 3 years. Just a wonderful teacher, and was always so supportive of all my kids. You cannot ask for a better teacher!
