Caitlin is awesome to work with. We were co-writers for the Loh Down on Science as well as Managing Editors (MEs) at different times. While she was an ME, she was a great leader and was super innovative and organized. During my term as ME, Caitlin was very professional and always got her work done on time. Although she had two internships and was in graduate school (a full-time job), she always turned in quality work. Furthermore, she was great at working in a team and was always a pleasure to work with.

KMG. Man, these guys know what they are doing. Seriously. Music has been my passion my entire life and KMG is the only studio in Denver that has been able to take my music to the next level. And trust me, I've been around the block a few times when it comes to studios. I am so honored to be able to work with such a talented, dedicated, creative team. You will come for the music, and stay for the family atmosphere. No matter what you have in mind for your music goals, KMG can help you achieve them and so much more. The sky is the limit. I am a singer from Denver, CO and am working with them on my first original album. Whatever expectations I had going in to my project, I scratched all of them because KMG has given me the hope that I can achieve anything I could possibly want and more on my album. I have grown so much as an artist and as a person from working with these amazing people and I could not be more grateful for my experience at KMG.

Dolly created a Wild Game Menu for our restaurant in Ohio. We were pleased with how quickly the job was completed ahead of her estimated time. The creativity was amazing as well as the professionalism. We still can't believe that she never designed a menu before , it was much more than we expected.I can't think of anything I would have improved upon the finished product. She cheerfully made all the revisions until we were completely satisfied with the final menu.

Michael seems to have a real knack for solving tough problems, and I think of all the people I've worked with in recent memory, he's probably the most resourceful in terms of getting down to the nitty gritty of finding out what needs to be done in order to make creative projects work. He's also great with short, punchy copy and content strategy. I would recommend him for anything on the digital front, as well as traditional advertising and direct marketing.

Incredibly informative and helpful. Margaret provided excellent feedback and was constructive in her editing. My essay was much more cohesive because of her editing, but still allowed my own voice to show through. I would highly recommend her for any writing or editing assistance!

Lucy Clark is incredibly proffessional, creative and responsive. I have found it difficult to work with any other graphics partner in that she understands my requests and needs far better than anyone else. Much time and effort is saved as she is very intuitive and patient! I have worked with Lucy for 18 years and will continue to do so.

I am creative and detail-oriented. Plus, I am a good editor, too, so my copy is always clean. I am a hard worker and always put my best effort into each project I work on.

Writing and editing compelling newspaper, magazine, book, and website copy since 1994.

I do writing, editing and publishing concerning railroading during the days of steam transportation. I have published, "Last Train From Cleveland", the story of a rail yard engineer. Also, I write for RV and travel related publications about travel in the US and Europe. Currently, I am publishing a new book, "Denver To DC: Inside the Real AMTRAK." This is a travelogue and features photographs of AMTRAK coaches, inside and out. I have a recent feature to be published in Family Motor Coach Association magazine, complete with photographs. Currently, I am writing, editing and publishing/producing quarterly newsletter for Air Force Association, Palm Springs, CA.

How do we offer such low prices? We are commission based only; the outfitter pays the commission from his normal price he would charge any hunter. This saves him the time of receiving 15 phone calls for possibly making 1 booking. Also his possibilities of fully booking are slim. Instead we take all the calls and find a hunter/hunt match in our 800 hunts, on 200 locations in 15 states and Canada. This way you get the hunt you want at the price you want. Then the outfitter is also pleased because he will fill his hunts this year, along with building his return clientele base for next year.

Let me help take the stress out of writing. My name is Jared Gassen; my service is to help make the world better one word at a time. My top skills are synthesizing complex information and working with a wide range of people and subjects. My passion is learning and helping to take the stress out of writing for students and manuscript writers. I specialize in helping ESL students, unpublished writers, and small businesses, but I am happy to help anyone in the writing process at any skill level.

I have just finished an eight-year stint helping 14-year-olds understand how to write well. I am a certified Language Arts teacher and I have a Master's degree in Teaching English. I was a Technical Writer for international ecommerce software corporations for five years and have a Bachelor's degree in Technical and Business Writing. I appreciate the art of writing. I want to make a living doing what I love! Writing is just like any other service you'd rather pay a professional to do. If the idea of writing sounds undesirable, let me do it. It'll be my pleasure.

I am an enthusiastic creative professional with a passion for creating great work. I provide content creation, writing, and graphic design (brochures, logos, etc.) services.

Don't have time to market your business like you want to? Confused about where to start or why what you're doing isn't working? Let's chat! I love helping small businesses learn the ins and outs of marketing and guiding them to a successful marketing strategy. I specialize in writing web copy, email marketing, social media marketing, blogging and content marketing, and overall marketing strategy and branding.

I am an award-winning marketing and advertising copywriter with more than 20 years of experience in New York and Denver, a web content writer, novelist, book-cover-copy writer, editor, and proofreader.

I have 7 years technical writing and editing experience. I mostly work from my home office; however, I have had on-site contracts in Fort Collins and Boulder, CO. I am professional and detail-oriented. References provided upon request.

I am a recent college graduate who loves to write and I just want to get my career off the ground. I am introverted and a little shy, which makes job hunting in today's competitive market all the more challenging. I just need to write, and I need to make my living this way.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you hire a good grant writer?

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses that qualify for government grants, and individuals who qualify for foundation or government grants. Hiring a good grant writer can help you gain funding in your chosen field. According to the American Grant Writers’ Association, grant writers can help you research potential grant opportunities; write grant proposals, create budgets, and build budget narratives; review written materials before you submit; prepare a business plan; analyze your organization for grant competitive qualities; prepare research grants; help with 501(c)(3) applications for nonprofits; and more. Investing in the right grant writer could result in a financial win for your organization. Generally no licenses or certificates are required to be a good grant writer, but you may want to find a grant writer who has been certified (not just received a certificate of completion) by a reputable organization such as the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Qualities to look for in a good grant writer include:

    • Proven success writing winning grants, especially in your target area.
    • Strong writing skills.
    • Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting.
    • Careful attention to detail — brilliant grant proposals may be rejected just for formatting errors, so you want someone who follows instructions explicitly.
    • Expertise in your target area.
    • Punctuality and good communication skills.

How much does a grant writer cost?

Hiring a grant writer can give you a competitive edge when applying for financial grants for your business or nonprofit organization, or as an individual. The cost to hire a grant writer can vary depending on their academic background, areas of expertise, previous grant writing success and years of experience. According to the Grant Professionals Association, grant writers should be paid hourly or by flat fee. It is unethical for a grant writer to accept a commission or percentage compensation of grant monies received. They can, however, be awarded bonuses in line with the hiring company’s prevailing practices. Here are some examples of average grant writing fees:

    • Hourly rate for grant writers with less experience or fewer grants awarded: $25-$35 per hour.
    • Hourly rate for grant writers with some degree of success: $35-$75 per hour.
    • Hourly rate for grant writers with proven success winning large grants: $75-$150 or more per hour.
    • For a smaller grant, the writer may charge a flat fee of $200-$500 for preparation and submission.

Pricing may also vary based on the complexity of the grant application. A federal grant that requires pages of research, budgets and a business plan may take more than 30 hours to prepare. For a high-level grant writer who charges $100 per hour, this means $3,000 or more in grant writing fees.

Most grant writers will provide you with a total cost estimate before agreeing to the work. You may be required to pay a deposit up front, or the grant writer may work from a retainer. Often, seasoned grant writers pay for themselves in the long run by writing successful grants.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
