I leave every lesson excited about what I learned and motivated to practice it and return next week. Up front, Lane talked to me about what I wanted to get out of drum lessons, and then he has catered my lessons to help me achieve my goals. When I first went to Lane's studio, I didn't know how to hold a drumstick. 30 minutes later, I was on the drum kit having fun and practicing the new things I had learned. Each week now, I'm adding to my technique and getting more advanced on the kit. It's a blast! I get discouraged easily, and Lane is great at helping me work through things I'm struggling with, and suggesting alternatives that help me eventually succeed. Another thing that is nice about Lane is he's always an email away, and he reviews your practice notes online and gives you feedback and suggestions. He has a ton of online resources that help me practice when I'm at home. Also, Lane worked with me to find a time in my busy schedule that was most convenient. His lessons are really working well for me and I'd highly recommend him as a teacher.
My son was hesitant to start his guitar lessons, and if he didn’t like it, it would be a major ordeal to get him in the car to go. I work like everyone and have zero time left. The fact that Tess comes to the house to teach - while I prepare dinner - is freaking awesome. What a time saver. And shes made it a great experience by offering tons of encouragement and lots of laughter wrapped up in a neat 30 min session. Highly recommend.
Kevin is talented, knowledgeable and patient. He started almost a year ago giving guitar lessons to my two kids (11 & 13) and I. I am so proud to see my kids progress and be able to play songs. Kevin does a great job and I highly recommend him.
I’ve been taking lessons from Jeff for a few weeks now, and I have appreciated his approach to teaching the drums which has taken into account my own playing abilities and tendencies rather than trying to fit a one-size-fits-all approach. Having played for quite a few years, I was looking for a teacher to help identify areas I could clean up and help take my drumming to the next level. Within a couple of sessions, Jeff was able to identify a couple of key areas that I was needing to develop (mainly related to foot and hand technique) and come up with a game plan to start building up these areas. So far, I have found this new practice area to be very beneficial, and can notice an improvement in my overall feel and flow. Jeff is also very approachable and receptive, which I think is one of the most important qualities of a good teacher. I would definitely recommend Jeff for high-quality and individual-focused drum lessons.
My mom has always wanted to play the drums but never got a chance, so for her 71st birthday we got her a drum lesson package with Stephen. Never too late to learn something new! She absolutely LOVES the lessons and has been very happy with Stephen. He is professional, kind, and most of all makes the lessons fun! I am so glad that we found Stephen - he has been a fantastic teacher for my mom.
He is great! I am getting weekly piano lessons and having a great time. Thank you!
Excellent instructor and has done a great job of tailoring the lessons to my particular interests and directions of study. Has brought a great deal of new material to our lessons and is consistent with offering new challenges.
We highly recommend Eric Low to anyone wanting to learn the drums, or advance farther along from where they are currently playing. Our son took lessons from Eric for several years. Lessons were a mix of books and free-form. Eric took the time to find songs of interest to go along with the lesson. Eric is personable and professional. Should either of our schedules change, Eric was responsive and flexible, and we kept in touch during inclement weather. It is an added benefit that Eric has an academic background and professionally plays as well. Our son really enjoyed their time together. When the time is right to return to drum lessons, we will seek-out Eric again, with no hesitation!
We love Jeremy and Modern Music Studio! Our boys have been taking guitar lessons from Jeremy for two years, and he makes it fun. They love going, and Jeremy goes out of his way to get them excited about music and customize their lessons. Highly recommend.
Ryan gives drum lessons to my 9 year old son. He's great to work with and always has relevant lessons planned for my son. My kiddo enjoys the lessons and looks up to Ryan as a teacher because he's seen Ryan play shows!! Highly recommend Ryan as an instructor.
Michael fit a great deal of curriculum into our allotted time. He was very knowledgeable about Afro-Cuban music. I must admit (being a Cuban from Miami) I was impressed at his breadth of knowledge on the subject. He is not only a top top notch teacher, but also an accomplished musician. I cant wait to continue my drumming lessons with him.
My son has had two lessons with William so far, and we've been very impressed. He is knowledgeable, experienced, encouraging, skilled, and very in tune to his student's abilities and needs. We are very excited to see how our son progresses! He has certainly learned a lot already.
I met for an initial drumming lesson. Josh attacked some basics, after reviewing my present ability. I was totally happy.
I’ve been a student here for over 10 years. My drum skills continue to improve every day due the excellent training I’ve received which are specifically geared to my level and genre preference. I highly recommend this program.
She is fun, patient, and smart! She has good energy and lots of talent. Our girls love her, and they've learned so much! Highly recommend her and her studio.
My drum lessons stand out from other drum lessons because I focus on teaching you what you want to know, not what I want you to know. I help you learn by associating drums with something you can personally relate to.
I have played drums and piano since i was about 6 years old and have taught music theory to friends and beginners since my teens. I offer a wide variety of stylistic training from jazz to funk to rock set drumming. I also offer Snare drumming and mallet lessons for those in their school bands. I have worked with kids in a wide range of jobs but will teach anyone relatively new to percussion.
Hello! I am Daniel, a music professional, educator and music producer. My experience spans 10 years in the Music Education, Piano Performance, Production & Composition, and Artist Development field.I have educated and collaborated with students, artists, and music enthusiasts of several genres, and proficiency levels internationally. I'm quite student focused and strive to assist my students in achieving their specific goals. I commit to working one on one, to help get information students need from every lesson. I believe one key way to educate is by creating a friendly, relaxed, affable and non- judgmental atmosphere. I work with adult and teenage students, students with special needs, and students looking for instruction in genre specifics like, rock, pop, blues, Afro-beat and many more.
We are a home-based studio. Our home has been converted with multiple sound-proofed areas included a space with a waiting area and a large viewing windows for parents of students. My wife, Rachel teaches piano and toddler music classes under the name Monkey Musik. I teach drums, guitar, and trumpet in a separate studio space of our home. We have taught students of all ages and skill levels for nearly 10 years. I take drum students starting at age five. I have a child-sized set and an adult sized set to accommodate any size of student from beginner to moderate skill levels. I take guitar/ukelele students starting at age seven. I can help recommend a new instrument for students if they don't have one. I don't teach tabs. I teach using a classical method that focuses on learning to read and understand written music. I also blend chord knowledge with classical knowledge from beginner to advanced skill levels. I take trumpet students starting at age 9-10 or younger on a case-by-case basis. For beginner trumpet students, I will focus on how to form an embouchure and how to play notes in the first octave. With more advanced students, I focus on range, tone, accuracy, and endurance. For moderate-advanced students, I teach from Arbans.
I teach Heavy Metal, Hard Rock drumming, Double bass techniques, rudiments, odd meter, hand/foot patterns, phrasing, structuring a thematic drum part, playing with a click track, reading, power with finesse, fluidity, etc. I teach piano with an emphasis on musical literacy, theory and proper technique. I have over twenty years of experience as both a private instructor and professor of music composition. I hold the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Composition from the University of Colorado at Boulder where I also work as a music instructor.
I am currently a college student doing my undergrad in music at Metro State. I started studying piano at age 8, and I started playing and studying drums at age 10. I started studying with a great drummer, Chad Johnson, and I am currently studying with Paul Romaine and Henrique Almeida (who is now on the faculty at Berklee School of Music in Boston). My rates are very reasonable for private lessons. I teach beginner and advanced. I also teach anything from jazz, hip hop, funk, rock, Brazilian, afrocuban, and pop drumming. Give me a call.
