Jeffrey has been giving my 11 year old drum lessons for a few weeks now. My son has been making great progress and looks forward to his lessons every week. We highly recommend Jeff as a drum teacher.
I was nervous about starting guitar lessons, but chose to try it out with Kevin...thank God I did! He makes it fun, enjoyable, stress free and also challenges you to do more than you think you can. He has the patience to work with someone who may need a little extra help, and the skill to work with someone who excels quickly. I love my time with him, and would highly recommend him to anyone thinking of starting the guitar for the first time, or someone who wants a little help knocking the rust off...he's fantastic!
My mom has always wanted to play the drums but never got a chance, so for her 71st birthday we got her a drum lesson package with Stephen. Never too late to learn something new! She absolutely LOVES the lessons and has been very happy with Stephen. He is professional, kind, and most of all makes the lessons fun! I am so glad that we found Stephen - he has been a fantastic teacher for my mom.
We are very happy with the piano lessons Genevieve provides to our 9 year old son and our 7 year old daughter. They enjoy learning from her and they're given lots of choices for what they want to play. She's also very flexible with rearranging lesson times if we have to miss. The recitals and sectionals have been fun and helpful too, and we are looking forward to the summer camp if it works with our schedule. :)
Our daughter has been taking drum lessons from Jon for over 4 years now. Jon's lessons are fun, focused, comfortable, and well rounded; focusing largely on technique, but additionally on music theory, music history/appreciation, and musicianship. Jon pays close attention to the students growth, changing needs, etc., adapting and customizing lesson plans as needed. With this well rounded approach, Jon has been able to build her skills to a level that allow her to confidently play live concerts on stage, with other very talented young musicians. And most importantly, she loves taking lessons from Jon. Whenever I hear of someone who is looking for drum instruction, I am always quick to recommend Jon Powers. He's a true professional and a great guy. Thanks Jon!
Excellent instructor and has done a great job of tailoring the lessons to my particular interests and directions of study. Has brought a great deal of new material to our lessons and is consistent with offering new challenges.
My sister Hailey has been taking piano lessons with Anna Sobotka for 2 months now and has made tremendous improvement in such a short amount of time. I am very happy I signed up with Golden Music and hope to continue with lessons for as long as Hailey continues to love them.
We love Jeremy and Modern Music Studio! Our boys have been taking guitar lessons from Jeremy for two years, and he makes it fun. They love going, and Jeremy goes out of his way to get them excited about music and customize their lessons. Highly recommend.
My son Cameron has been taking drum lessons from Ryan for a little over 6 months. He is very positive and kind, leaving my son with a smile on his face after every lesson. He even got us into one of his shows for free and brought us backstage! I would absolutely recommend Ryan as a drum teacher.
Great old school drum teacher who knows his stuff, good with kids!
Kyle is talented musician and overall great dude. I highly recommend taking lessons from him. Learned a lot and it was a blast!
We love our teacher, Doug! Traveling Music Lessons is the best - I wish all of my kid's activities came to us. That is really convenient. We love this service!
We have really enjoyed how well Rich has worked with our son. It is not easy teaching a 4 year old to play drums and Eli is LOVING it and his teacher! Thank you Thumbtack too for offering a service where we could find Joyful Noise easily.
I can tell Michael puts time into thinking about how to teach as well as what to teach. I always come away with a firm idea about what to practice and how that will be applied in the future. He is a trained musician and I feel I benefit from his experience of being a student of the drums. He is a friendly, upbeat person who sincerely wants to see me succeed. He answers questions without belaboring, and weaves interesting information about the greater drum culture into his answers. He keeps the class moving at a fun pace and challenges without intimidating. I am a beginner, and I highly recommend Michael as a drum teacher if you are just starting out, but I think his dedication to the art would make him a great teacher for any level.
We received percussion lessons from Kevin Keith. He not only is an excellent musician, but he is a wonderful teacher. He is very knowledgeable in many genres of music, from solo literature, to band/orchestral music, to jazz. Of which, he shares his knowledge and experiences with his students freely. He is very hardworking and enthusiastic to ensure that his students get a quality education. He is great in communication, both with the student , in ensuring understanding of lesson materials, and with the parents on updates on how the lessons are progressing. He has a very patient and friendly disposition, that would allow anyone to feel comfortable in working with him. He has been a wonderful teacher and mentor for the past 2.5 years.
Mark is one of the best musicians and teachers I have had the pleasure of working with. Not only does he have vast experience with teaching and playing multiple different instruments, he knows how to effectively teach anyone at any age or level and can quickly adapt to any student's needs. He will go out of his way to give you the best lessons possible with an upbeat and positive attitude. He is always on time, professional, flexible and punctual. He cares greatly about his students and seeing them excel. Not only a great player, Mark is a very experienced and skilled teacher that I highly recommend!
Lyza is able to connect with young children and adapt to different learners. She started with our son when he was 3.5 and he was very interested in actually playing Instruments. Most folks just turned us down and told us to take one of those toddler group classes as he was too young for real lessons. The classes were all nice but not all that interesting to him. We tried several different places. All with great reviews like swallow hill and such. Lyza has a great balance of structure, free form, global exploration with the various instruments she brings with her, focus on specifics of an instrument and learning to read music. She is also a really intelligent, kind and fun person who you can completely trust with your child. Value - she comes to your home for 45 per hour. And it's a full hour. Often a bit longer. That is an amazing value. At |15-30 for various 45 minute group classes you are better off doing lessons with lyza every other week.
Mr Rich taught drums to my 8/9 year old daughter for two years. She made great progress and loved the lessons because Rich always made them fun. She got to choose songs she wanted to play the drums to, and that was complemented with drum music book practice. Rich is skilled at applying a little pressure to improve, without too much pressure that it became too difficult or burdensome. He was very easy to schedule with and always arrived on time. Highly recommend!
We are a home-based studio. Our home has been converted with multiple sound-proofed areas included a space with a waiting area and a large viewing windows for parents of students. My wife, Rachel teaches piano and toddler music classes under the name Monkey Musik. I teach drums, guitar, and trumpet in a separate studio space of our home. We have taught students of all ages and skill levels for nearly 10 years. I take drum students starting at age five. I have a child-sized set and an adult sized set to accommodate any size of student from beginner to moderate skill levels. I take guitar/ukelele students starting at age seven. I can help recommend a new instrument for students if they don't have one. I don't teach tabs. I teach using a classical method that focuses on learning to read and understand written music. I also blend chord knowledge with classical knowledge from beginner to advanced skill levels. I take trumpet students starting at age 9-10 or younger on a case-by-case basis. For beginner trumpet students, I will focus on how to form an embouchure and how to play notes in the first octave. With more advanced students, I focus on range, tone, accuracy, and endurance. For moderate-advanced students, I teach from Arbans.
I am a teacher with music degree in Chile. I can make you pay service center for guitar lessons, piano, drums, music reading and Spanish in your home.
