Arbor Tutors has the best program out there to prepare yourself for the MCAT. I'm very impressed with the quality and the education of the tutors. It's like everyone here has an Ivy League education.

Nicole was outstanding! She helped our son raise his composite ACT score from a 20 to a 27 in only 7 weeks! As a senior, this was our son's last chance to raise his ACT score. Prior to the April test, we had enrolled him in 16 weeks of group classes; His math score only increased 1 point and reading increased 2. In less than half the time and for about half the money, Nicole helped AJ increase math by 7, reading and science by 8, and English by 5. She tailored the lessons to AJ's background and learning style. Her approachable manner and disarming personality immediately put AJ at ease -making it easier for him to learn. Nicole made herself available to answer questions at ALL times, day or night, which was unbelievably helpful! She is extraordinarily knowledgeable about both the ACT and new SAT. Regarding the entire college application process, she is a wealth of information and advice! We were so lucky that she was able to fit AJ into her packed schedule, and we will be forever grateful for everything she did for him and us!

Mr. Barraza has been my teacher for a couple of years. I took guitar classes with him in high school. He is just outstanding in all the work he does. The dedication he would give me as well as every other student would go above and beyond expectation. He is a very intelligent, noble, and caring person. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, and his thirst for knowledge is insatiable, so whether you want to study music, Spanish, math, reading, writing etc. Mr. Barraza would a great choice for you, truly a great teacher for all ages.

Chris has been tutoring my son (a high school junior) for about a year on some very challenging, upper level math, and the results have been incredible. My son went from a failing grade to a B in one semester, and he also received an A in his physics class. Chris quickly built a trusting relationship with my son through his timeliness and professionalism, quickly developing what has been a great experience!

Maria is definitely one of the best teachers I have ever had! When I first met Maria, I told her what my requirements were & she customizes the class just for you. She makes learning so much fun. I'm always looking forward to every single class. Maria is kind, patient, and takes such a personal interest in your development, understands your ability to learn & pushes you in such a positive fashion. I truly admire her as a person. Choosing Maria to be my Spanish teacher was one of the best decisions I made and I highly recommend trying her class.

Marc is an amazing tutor. I hired Marc to tutor my learning disabled daughter to prepare for an entrance exam at a local technical college in Denver. My daughter struggles both socially and academically. Marc was able to bridge both gaps for a very successful experience. Marc was always punctual and reliable and has the creativity and flexibility to work well in a very challenging situation. I give Marc two thumbs up and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent tutorial experience.

    About

I have been a professional tutor for the last 2 years and have helped students achieve their goals in all levels of math, reading, and writing. From teaching 4th-6th grades to serving as a senior outdoor education instructor, I have held many roles in education. I currently hold a professional license to teach in the state of Colorado and am a certified Calming Kids Yoga instructor. I also helped revamp the curriculum for the National Youth Leadership Training Institute with the Boy Scouts of America. I have experience with Everyday Math, Singapore Math, Every Child a Reader, DIBBELS, Readers and Writers Workshop, and other elementary programs. Clients can expect my tutoring sessions to be targeted to the individual needs of my students. We will use a variety of mediums to meet the needs of the student. I believe that communication is critical between teachers, tutors, and families to help maximize our time together. I typically meet families in their home for 1-2 times per week. Having a professional teaching license, I am quite familiar with the goals and objectives of an elementary curriculum and seek to connect students in engaging ways with the material. I believe that hands-on education helps provide opportunities for all students to critically analyze our world. One such example of capitalizing on little loved resources came when I tutored a lesson on the rock cycle to a small group of students. Out of the box, I deliberately selected the worn down, wrapper-less, seemingly uninspiring crayons that most students would throw away in an effort to be creative. These brave little volunteers would serve as my test subjects. Slowly, I cut the crayon bits into small chunks. One could feel the excitement in my room! After taking turns pounding on the tin foil to represent pressures within the Earth, we exposed the crayons to heat via a dumpster dived candle and reused piece of tin foil leftover from our mystery meat camp dinner. My students synthesized their own theories before we compared what actual Stem scientists had concluded. And, best of all, this lesson used recycled materials!

    About

I genuinely enjoy helping students understand the subject matter, and I'm an expert in communication styles and what works best given each individual's personality and learning style. About

Simply put, I am a higher caliber tutor than others. I am a high-performance student myself, having graduated in the top 10% of my class with numerous awards and scholarships. I mastered math, science, economics, and the humanities with A grades in all. Now I'm a law student, which separates me from the typical tutor you find on Craigslist-- a kid one year older than your student who likes to do calculus. I consider myself a professional who will help your student reach their goal in a systematic way.

    About

I'm a classroom-experienced English teacher/tutor who offers writing and reading skill development. I'm an experienced technical and academic writing editor.

    About

I have an elementary education degree with an ESL endorsement. I spent time tutoring children all throughout my college career, and this is what I am passionate about. I enjoy working with students one-on-one and building a relationship with them as well!

    About

I tutor elementary students in all subject areas. I have an MA in Language Arts, and I have training in multisensory, which is a great intervention for kids struggling in all subject areas, but especially in reading, writing, and spelling. I have 26 years of classroom experience, and I have tutored off and on for 2 years. I have been the teacher with whom most of the kids with some sort of disability have been put into my room because I work well with them, and I know how to meet their needs. I have recently retired from the classroom, but I am looking forward to tutoring elementary students.
