Do you want to know the definition of Excellence? Hire Luisa c/o De Cicco's Event Planning! I have never worked with a more professional, friendly company. Luisa has a way of catering to her client's and making them feel like they're at the top of her priority list. If you need her, drop her an E-mail and she IMMEDIATELY gets back to you. Need a personal Chef to teach you how to cook? Luisa can connect you with top of the line quality professional's that KNOW what they're doing in the kitchen. I'm currently taking lesson's from her Chef and I went from being a novice who's food was either bland, burnt and completely un-edible, to a person who can now chop, dice and make a meal so good, my family calls me asking me to cook for them again. Luisa and her staff are so friendly, so welcoming and very attentive to the needs of the client. Luisa has done a fine job in picking her staff and I’m extremely happy I hired her company because it was worth every penny.

Whether you are having a small get together for a few or a large gathering, be rest assured that your event will be amazing! Chef Michel is extremely professional, respectful, and friendly! He catered 2 events for our family and we were very pleased with both. The first was a party of nearly 100 people celebrating our son’s college graduation and daughter’s high school graduation. Our second event was a last minute post Thanksgiving weekend family get together for 12-15 people. Everything from the planning, to taste testing, and delivery was on point. Aside from the food being beyond mouth watering delicious, he coordinated with outside vendors to provide everything we needed to make the graduation event beautiful. He also provided on site chefs and wait staff, all of which were professional and attentive to details. They were flexible in their assigned roles and remained past the scheduled time to attend to our guests and clean up. Our home was left as clean as it was when they arrived! Chef Michel prides himself on delivering the best quality and freshest foods possible. Other than a few items that required pre-prep (like marinating / slow cooking...definitely try the roast pork and roast chicken) everything was prepared (cut, fried, cooked, assembled etc) on site. This truly makes a difference when you’re serving items like empanadas or tostones with avocado and shrimp (both highly recommended). Chef Michel is very creative. Whether you choose something from his printed menus, have other items in mind, or even have a special recipe that you want him to prepare...HE CAN DO IT! An important point to make about his catering style is that he is so proud of his creations that he wants everyone to be able to taste everything that he prepares. If you choose an appetizer and you have 100 people, you are not going to get 1 or 2 pieces per person or be charged by the piece, like most caterers. He will make sure you have more than enough for everyone. The same applies to your main course. We had leftovers for ourselves, even after our guests took food home. With all of this said, I truly feel that his prices are fair and reasonable! I could write more and would be more than happy to speak to anyone who has any questions, but I’ll end with...make sure you try his homemade ice creams (our favorites were coconut and pineapple), flan, and especially the sangria!

My friend and I took cooking classes from her. I can truly say that she was amazing. She taught us to make food we wanted to learn and it turned out amazing. She is a great teacher and makes it easy to apply what you learn from her and the things you learn in class to other recipes outside of what we did in class. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to cook.

I hired Mitch to do a cooking class for 5 girls from 7-10 years old (surprise) . He was very enthusiastic, asked what the girls like the most to cook and offered a few choices of menu that I could pick from. He gave me a list all things that i need to buy for the menu ahead of time. on the day of the class, he arrived on time, played a game right at the door with girls to guess what was he doing in our home.Originally he set the time to be 2-3 hours but he stayed for 4 hours and did not rush anything in order to finish early and his price stayed the same! Mitch started teaching basics of how to hold a knife, how to cut and let all the girls using his knife and cutting tomatoes and onions for salsa, cutting bacon for Pasta Alfredo, etc. He mixed up cooking with fun jokes with girls and gave a history of the food or ingredients where it was appropriate. He was super patient with all the silly or serious questions from the girls. our menu was pasta Alfredo, soft and hard tacos with ground meat and eggless chocolate mouse for dessert. we had a great meal and leftover for the next day. Mitch cleaned up kitchen and utensil well during and after cooking so i did not have to clean at all. I have recommended him to my friends and would hire Mitch again.

We hired Chef Gerry for an evening of a cooking lesson and eating. He set up stations with recipes that we were to follow. He helped us make pasta - a real treat! Chef Gerry was knowledgeable, informative, and the recipes were easy to follow but were challenging. It was a delicious dinner and a perfect evening thanks to our very capable Chef!

Chef Leo exceeded my expectations in every way. He hosted a wonderful cooking class for my daughter’s birthday, even providing a take home cook book for the kids featuring the four dishes they created. He was willing to work w us on the appropriate menu, showed up early to prep, cleaned the entire kitchen, and provided an absolutely delicious meal!

Visiting from Alabama and were happily surprised to learn Chef Michele was here. Scallops were the best ever and James loved his Crab Cakes. Went back today for the Oyster Fest and had fun listening to the band and having drinks and oysters. Will be heading there again before we leave to go home. The food is high end and the staff is attentive and knows the menu details. And Chef Michele is fun.

We had a cooking lesson with chef Sterling, with three friends it was a total blast. It was like a collage class but real fun. We learned all the basics, cutting, sautéing, roasting. The music made us relax. We can’t wait for our next class.

I was interested in learning how to make pie crust and Rebecca surely knew how. In addition to the lesson, she brought along two articles on pie crust making that have become part of my standard kitchen references. The one thing that didn't quite work for me was her taking over and doing some of the steps herself, rather than letting me complete to whole process. I would recommend her for lessons

About

Hello, my name is Isabella, and I am a self taught home cook directly from Italy. I moved here 11 years ago and along with my clothes, I filled my luggage with my mother's rustic recipes, decades old but never changed. My mission is to help other women (or men) learn a couple of delicious homey recipes they can pass down for generations!

About

I am a professional cooking instructor, private chef and cookbook writer ("A Fistful of Lentils: Syrian-Jewish Recipes From Grandma Fritzie's Kitchen") who specializes in Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Sephardic cooking and culture. All of my recipes are personally developed and written, including Syrian, Moroccan, Persian, Turkish, Greek, Iraqi, Egyptian, and Georgian. Private cooking classes (lasting 2 1/2 to 3 hours) are done in your own home, and menus are customized to your preferences. Classes can be for individuals, couples (great wedding gift!), and small groups and are a great way to socialize as well as learn. I am also available to come to your home and cook for you and a small group of people (up to 25) for holiday dinners or other special events. In addition, I am available for Middle Eastern food demos and talks in private homes, schools or community centers.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
