About

At Kathy's School of Music, LLC, we provide music lessons for both children and adults. Our instruments include piano, voice, guitar, bass, drums, and violin. Children's Programs: Kathy's School of Music provides a nurturing environment for parents to introduce their children to music. Within our supportive community, students develop new skills and unique ways to express themselves through their lessons. Their teachers, who are experienced musicians themselves, provide inspiration and guidance in an intimate setting. Lessons have a relaxed and open atmosphere where learning is fun, challenging and creative. Beginner, intermediate, or advanced players are welcome. Adult Programs: At Kathy's School of Music, LLC, we recognize that people come from different walks of life with different needs; this is also true in our music education programs. No matter what your skill level, our dedicated staff will help you refine and hone your talents, while providing focused instruction that recognizes strengths and helps to overcome weaknesses. With lessons in the comfort of your own home, you will have the opportunity to experience the joy of music with expert guidance. Approaches to efficient and disciplined practice styles are discussed at each lesson. Young learners receive a substantial technical and artistic foundation, while students at higher levels learn to refine their practice methods, explore their creative and aural capabilities, while advancing to greater heights their technical, improvisational and performance skills. Studies include a range of topics that cover areas of musical development such as: - Performance, technique and interpretation - Music theory - Harmony and rhythm - Aural development - Memorization Lessons are held weekly, with assignments structured so as to make the learning process more of an enjoyable discovery of oneself and the art of music.

About

We switched to Laura in May for piano lessons after 3 years with another teacher. We are very happy with her teaching approach. She makes it fun for my 2 daughters (10 & 8) and yet they are learning a lot. I noticed that my girls practice more during the week and looks forward to their weekly lesson with Laura. She comes to our house too which is very convenient.

About

I have an 8 year old daughter that was learning Piano and I have sensed pretty quickly that she is talented and needs the proper guidance. We looked around for a teacher that can take her to the next level. I found Jeff and today, a year later – I can really notice the difference. He has his way with kids and is capable of challenging them at the same time. Strongly recommend!

About

I offer trumpet lessons (all levels) and piano lessons (from beginner to intermediate) in your home. My piano students have at least one recital per year in which my trumpet students may participate as well. I have a unique way to start beginning piano students, which combines the best of traditional music notation with Suzuki instruction and ideas from the "Music Tree" method. Music reading fluency is a priority as well as proper technique and repertoire. Younger students use Montessori type instruction to obtain a solid foundation in note reading. On the trumpet, I specialize in NYSSMA instruction, classical repertoire and technique, jazz improvisation study, and excellence in music reading. I help students to perform their very best with school ensembles. Above all, my students enjoy playing their instruments and smile a lot during the lessons. I especially love teaching beginners on both instruments and find that aspect of my job to be very rewarding and enjoyable. The way that the brain processes music reading and performing is a special interest of mine, and I have consequently had success with students who haven't thrived with other teachers, including students with learning/processing differences. My students are consistently successful at NYSSMA and are often chosen to participate in area all-state, all-county, and all-state organizations. Some have gone on to be music majors at schools, such as the University of Massachusetts and SUNY-Buffalo. I have many local references and testimonials by band directors. I teach primarily in the following areas: Briarcliff Manor, Ossining, Millwood, Chappaqua, Armonk, Somers, Mt. Kisco, Irvington, and Ardsley, but will consider other areas if you can schedule your lessons at the beginning or end of my day or if you have more than one student. Please visit my piano and trumpet blogs at my website.

About

My daugher took piano lessons from Gab Kallay before moving to Germany and really enjoyed taking lessons from her. Gab was very patient but also extremely thorough with the lessons. In Germany my daughter later joined the school band and continues to play.

About

We recently moved and unfortunately lost our previous instructor, who was amazing with children. It was difficult in locating a piano teacher nearby for my kids until we found Musika. They matched our children with an accomplished and friendly instructor that enjoys teaching younger students. We absolutely recommend Kuan for piano lessons :)
