As being a first time customer of OnPoint Nutrition, my experience was very consistent and honest. Brittany guided me through all the correct ways to balance a healthy diet. During my four weeks, I started to notice a tremendous change, not only on my physical appearance, but with the way I felt day to day. OnPoint Nutrition is very motivating in keeping a healthy lifestyle. I learned that balance is key! The results that follow are amazing!

I have never worked with a pt before, but after my 2 kids decided to give it a shot. My scale hasnt budged in 2.5 years and i have lost 20 lbs. In the 4 months ive been working with Marie. I love her adaptability and creativity--it seems depending on the week, I have a different limitation but she always manages to modify or re-focus without giving me any excuses. The special attention to nutrition is added value for the money. Would absolutely recommend if you arecin a slup, need some consistent motivation or want to compliment your current regimine.

So if you're unfamiliar with Wellness Works 4 Life or with Coach Deb, you may be wondering who she is? What does she do? Is it worth it? Is it worth it is an emphatic "YES!" but I will let the website and some of the other comments speak to those other things. I writing this because Deb has helped me change my life for the better and I will always appreciate her for it. So I am going to add some detail about me, lest you think i'm some fake person phoning in a review. I was already sort of healthy, or so I thought: no meat, not much processed foods, a social drinker only, "slim" (enough). However, I was slowly picking up weight and my energy wasn't the same as it had used to be. You see, one of the biggest benefits in my mind--one of the coolest things--when I initially dropped meat was that I got this surge in energy. It made me believe that digestion must have been taking a bunch of energy. Now, I didn't need as much sleep and still woke up more refreshed. It was fantastic. I learned though from Deb that I was missing a lot in my diet, and had too much of some other stuff because of my diet. I was out of whack. She helped me do a cleanse, and then we started rebuilding my body bit by bit, step by step. It took a long time and it was difficult and I am still not done by any stretch, but I already feel so much better. What you get with Deb is personalized assistance that spans not just nutrition but life: you find out it's all about relationships. Deb is such a positive person, and I really appreciate that. Where ever you are trying to go, Deb will help. You are going to be purchasing better food, eating better food (she's got CRAZY TASTY recipes), saving money doing it, feeling better and if you're into lbs and inches, dropping those. Deb is a wellness coach that helps you be the best you. She doesn't take nonsense but she's super patient. TLDR: If you put your best foot forward, you and your body will not regret it. I love Wellness Works 4 Life and would recommend it to anyone. Deb is awesome! Ps. If you reach out to Deb and have more questions, and you let her know you saw my review, she can put you in touch with me. Or if this thing allows back and forth, I can do it here. -harold

I have used Mr. Hasan Walker as a personal trainer since August, 2015. I have lost 4 inches and 5 pounds. I never liked exercising, but Mr. Walker makes it so much fun and I have learned so much. I feel so good because it not just about exercise, but nutrition also. My goal is to lose 35Lbs, and I'm on my way to reaching it.

I met with Dana after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. I was anxious about the diagnosis, exhausted, and looking for answers more sustainable than the steroids I was prescribed. Dana put my mind at ease, helped to plan and implement an appropriate diet, and suggested supplements that have helped me immensely. I have more energy than I've had in years, and I'm hopeful that I will be able to manage my disease without a lot of medication. Dana's clinical understanding of disease and nutrition, along with her calm and kind approach is just perfect.

I have been working with Craig as my fitness coach for almost a year now and I couldn't have found a better mentor. He is upbeat, energetic and enthusiastic and encourages me to do the best I can and then a little bit more. He knows exactly what I need to keep fit and trim. I feel better, stronger and know I am looking better then I have in a long while. And as if that is not enough, he makes the workout fun! He is knowledgeable in my exercise routines and coaches me on my nutritional needs. Thank you Craig for all you do!

I came to the Nutritional Wellness Center five years ago because my hair was falling out and nothing I tried was working. Within weeks of being on a nutritional program, I started feeling better. I began having energy and more mental clarity. I didn’t realize it was possible to feel so good because for my whole life I had low energy and brain fog. In addition, my anxiety and depression lessened. Within a month, my hair was no longer falling out and began looking shinier and fuller. People would ask me what I was doing because I looked good and had a natural glow to me. I have been going to the wellness center since and am beyond happy and grateful to say I finally found a place that knows how to heal the body, mind and spirit. I can’t imagine life without the wellness center, because I wouldn’t be where I am at today. NWC gave me hope and continues to be the place I go when I need healing. They have answers that I couldn’t find elsewhere. Healing is possible!

Janet was very knowledgeable and well educated about fitness and nutrition and the steps I needed to take to achieve my goals, but at the same time she made it fun. The workout time went by quickly and I felt like I had worked hard. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a fun, professional trainer to help you get in shape or get to the next level of fitness.

    About

Hi, I’m Carly. I look at health and wellness through the eyes of an everyday woman, not just a fitness freak. Just because I’m a trainer doesn’t mean I don’t have personal goals, time restrictions, food temptations or wardrobe woes. The truth is, I feel like everyday is a challenge, not only to stay in shape, but to maintain an overall healthy lifestyle; meaning to look and feel good in my own skin, whether I’m headed out for the night or entering a competition. Subsequently, as a personal trainer, I have a competitive nature, which means I like a challenge. Moreover, I love to beat one. Through my personal training and nutritional coaching, I aim to inspire my clients, both men and women, to take on their daily challenges with a smile, to learn to enjoy working out, to begin to make healthier choices, and to create a system that works just for them. With custom workouts and tailored nutrition, I provide the motivational nudge you need to become independently successful in your quest for a healthier lifestyle and physique. My job is to encourage you to implement the knowledge necessary to live in a way that makes you feel great about yourself, whether it's at home, at work, or participating in a competition. Athletes and health enthusiasts alike, you will discover and be able to make small changes that are doable and make commitments that you can keep.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
