Trainer Daniel Berzon is the best I've ever worked with. A true professional, dedicated to helping his clients with their individual personal fitness goals. Whether you have never worked out or trained in a gym, or have years of training experience, Mr. Berzon is very skilled at helping people of all ages and abilities to lose weight, to become stronger, and to become more lean. His skills as both a trainer and a nutritionist are a very successful combination. Having lost 50 pounds, dropped 4 dress sizes, improved my thyroid function, and become stronger now than I have ever been, I can personally attest to his abilities and highly recommend him and Power Hour Fitness.

Saying that Gigi is awesome is an understatement! She is so thorough, which I totally need. I couldn't seem to balance my workout schedule and eating well at the same time. Gigi, a chef, nutritionist and a personal trainer, gives me weekly vegan meal plans and challenges me during our workouts. I have some health challenges and she's done research, asks questions and has modified some exercises for me. I'm eating the vegan protein bites she made for me as a snack this week and I am beyond thrilled. All of that and she's fun to boot. Do yourself a favor and book this woman NOW.

Excellent is how I would describe Premier Sports Performance! Alex is an excellent trainer and also is an expert in the area of nutrition. The intense training takes place in a fun atmosphere facility that has great chemistry and camaraderie. I would highly recommend to anyone that’s interested in getting in fitness from beginners to advance, that they should give Premier Sports Performance a chance. I've worked out with Alex on a consistent basis for the past 7 years!

I've been a client for about 7 years. I started there with tremendous hip and back pain that - despite many visits to physical therapy and countless doctors -- only Suzanne could diagnose. She discovered my foot had very limited range of motion stemming from a severed Achilles tendon from a shark attack years earlier. Overcompensation patterns were sending a cascade of impacts throughout my body. Over time, we worked to correct the imbalances and today I am building a stronger, stable body without pain. This team has extensive training and education and their methods are safe and effective. They think outside the box. No cookie cutter programs here -- you get exactly what YOU need. Plus this facility has the only Isofit machine in Central Florida -- a unique piece of equipment that is effective and safe no matter how weak or strong you are. It's completely under your control and it works well. These trainers coach everyone from the injured to the elderly to top athletes in baseball, triathlons and other sports. If you want results and to learn more than you ever expected about exercise and your muscular system, put your health in their hands. It's one of the best decisions I ever made!

I am 52 years old and have been involved in all sports since I was about 4 years old. My love and focus was and is still, baseball. I play competitively in an age 28+ league here in Florida. As you can imagine, after years of beating up my body, I developed more and more aches and pains. I've torn hamstrings, separated my shoulder about 6 times, broken bones, so with all these and getting older, they were becoming unbearable. A friend told me about Dr. Norika and her practice and a multifaceted approach, one being acupuncture. To say the least, I was very skeptical. I met with Dr. Norika and spent our first visit talking about my past, medications I had used in the past, injuries, treatments, etc. she was very detailed with respect to what my issues were and expectations through various types of treatments. She has an amazing insight to the body and which treatments to use for various aches and pains. One thing Dr. Norika focused on mainly, was getting to the root of the pain problem. She focused on acupuncture, laser treatment, manual therapy and massage. I was truly amazed! After our first treatment, I felt noticeably better. The true test was playing my next baseball game. I felt years younger and an amazing feeling playing with much less pain. The combination of treatments: acupuncture, laser, manual, massage and posture readjustment, was my "fountain of youth." Dr. Norika didn't stop there. She continued to give me "homework", things to continue working on at home to help myself feel better. We also talked about nutrition and how my nutrition can make a huge impact on how I feel daily. She gave me a nutrition plan and we talked over the months readjusting it from time to time, to get it where I can really feel a difference. If it weren't for Dr. Norika, I would have had to stop playing baseball and wouldn't have had the energy to get out and be as active as I am with my two boys. I can't thank her enough! And for all you skeptics out there, like I was, she improved my life 100%! Thanks Doc! Bill W.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
