Lee did an excellent job at accessing and completing the repairs I needed on my roof. He was punctual and completed the work efficiently. Having worked on Florida roofs for many years, I felt very comfortable with having Lee complete my repairs. In addition to resealing sections of my roof to prevent future leaks, he completely replaced Facia and trim, and installed a gutter. I would definitely recommend Lee to anyone looking for roofing repairs at a reasonable price.

I had a property for sale that needed multiple repairs, roofing, plumbing, electrical, carpentry. Builders of America responded promptly and on time. They would have been able to complete all repairs but my buyer decided to offer less and take the property as is. Nice to deal with. Will use another time

We receive several quotes for the repair. Eugene was efficient and professional. His quote was priced reasonably compared to the other roofers. We chose Roofing max and have been completely satisfied. He sent his workers out immediately and repair the roof and provided a one-year warranty. Will use them again in the future. I highly recommend them

Hi, Chris, insulated the outer walls in my attic, installed a soffit vent, 2 100" panel track window treatments, 2 shades totaling 100", reinforced and insulated two openings in the outside of my villa, cleaned my dryer vent, moved the insulation covering the soffit vents in 7 hours. And was clean, neat and so very knowledgeable. I am truly impressed with his work and his work ethic. He is my extra set of hands. Thank you Chris for a job well done. Chris said he was going to be at my home at 8am and was there at 7:45. So unusual in this day. I have had to wait hours for people to show or worse yet not show.

We needed to completely replaced our roof. We decided to use Bowers Roofing. We had serveral roofing companies come by to give us estates. The team at Bowers was without question the only company we would use. From our very first meeting their expertise and experience was apparent. We were nevrous about having to have our whole roof replaced but once we started with Randy and the guys at Bowers roofing we knew we had made the correct choice. We never makes our decisions based one price. We paused for what we got, which we can say was the best. Thanks Randy. Jeff and Laura.

Randy ROCKS!! Having to clean out my fathers house after he passed was a daunting task. Between charities and junk remocal companies and figuring out who takes what was almost impossible. Some charities don't take matteresses for example, junk companies and dumpsters don't take paint, etc. Randy took EVERYTHING. He has some charities he works with. He was my one stop shop. Communication was on point. Called when he said he would and showed up when he said he would. I was also in a bit of a time crunch so he bounced his schedule around to accommodate me ASAP. His price was great and too even good to pass up. When I handed him a little extra for the amazing job and really going above and beyond for me, he almost didn't want to accept it. He showed up with his wife and son one day and his son and daughter the next. They were all extremely friendly and polite. I didn't use him for his handyman or roofing skills, but if I needed any of that done, he'd be the first person I'd call. Bottom line: Highly recommended. Thanks Randy for helping with the very sad and stressful situation and making my clean out so much easier. -Aaron in PSL via Boston.

My insurance company cancelled my insurance because the roof was too old. So I shopped around and landed on these guys on Thumbtack . They did very good work and kept in contact with me throughout the roof replacement. They removed the old 1950’s vintage tile roof that had horrible leaky sealant painted over it and installed new shingle roofing. Everything passed city code inspection when they were done. They also installed a nice pipe to allow me to route FPL A/C power correctly through the roof pipe instead of hanging off the eave from a hook. I took a few days off work and monitored the install progress just to make sure no misunderstandings on what I needed done (you can’t undo a roof) and everything was done exactly as I requested. The roof looks modern now. I would recommend these guys for any roofing job from my good experience.

My name is Karen Mahoney I called Harrington and Sons to get an estimate on a new roof. Mr. Harrington showed up in his truck with the ladder and went up and measured my roof he also spent quite a bit of time in my attic . Finding issues that my previous home inspector missed we were very impressed. My husband and I decided that he would be our roofer. Mr. Harrington handled all the details the notifications, permitting and providing us an insurance binder . He was the only Roofing Contractor that made us aware of the Florida State release of lien law. He also provided us with a copy of his cancellation policy based on a federal law that states you have a three-day right of rescission when signing a contract in your home we felt very comfortable with Mr. Harrington he put all the cards on the table The Supplies were delivered into the driveway. With a fork left on a pallet and was covered From the weather when the dumpster arrived the men put plywood down to protect the driveway. We have never seen a contractor do that before. The crew showed up on the proposed start date on time .The foreman and all the workers were very respectful they were dressed in the workmen like protective clothing they had all the professional Tools and Equipment they needed to perform the roof project .Upon completing the job the grounds were left spotless the house was spotless the final inspection went off without a hitch. The communication throughout the job was was excellent If we could give Harrington and Sons 10 stars we would. But I guess we only rate 5 stars We are very pleased customers The Mahoney FamilyMy name is Karen Mahoney I called Harrington and Sons to get an estimate on a new roof. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

      • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
        • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

      • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
        • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
      • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
        • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
      • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
        • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
      • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
        • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
      • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
        • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
      • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
        • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
