I went to Linda for a Reiki session, my first one. From the moment we spoke on the phone, to the moment I met her in person she made immediate connections which enhanced the session for me. Every aspect of my experience with Angel Light Holistic Healing was exceptional. Lisa C.

I have known Jill Ayn Schneider professionally and personally for more than a decade. I've been through her health and healing program a few times. Her alternative healing work with people is powerful, not just because she knows her herbal medicine and detoxication protocols, but because she is intuitive and can help you to find and release the source of your suffering. Claudia is a remarkable healer. She approached me with an amazing intuition, knowledge-base and great wisdom and she delivered amazing healing energy. I am trained in allopathic medicine (M.D.) so my understanding of the principles of Reiki is somewhat limited and I was skeptical. My prior experience with Reiki was also anything but good. With Claudia, I may not understand much of what she does but I know that she is working earnestly on my behalf (also a great life coach) and you just can't argue with results.

I came to see Jacqueline to be treated for chronic pain, and some heath issues such as high blood pressure, and some depression. I was somewhat skeptical to have this kind work, because it was unknown to me, but after my experience , I am now a believer in Theta Healing. Jacqueline, indeed has a magic touch and her softness and peacefulnees radiates thru her hands, and touch. After ourTheta Healing session, I felt something was released from my body. By the time the session was over, I felt happier, more empowered, more clear, and the physical pain was much better! And most of all almost medicine free!! Today, my energy was low, and I was in a lot of pain. As she began to work on me, I felt something was released from my body, and felt much better! Many aspects of my life are transforming as a result of the powerful ThetaHealing sessions Jacqueline has provided for me. She has helped me understand that some of the pain that i was having were due to emotional traumas in childhood, and then asked the Creator of All to make the necessary changes in my life. Theta Healing is a powerful process and I highly recommend Jacqueline.

Gloria is amazing. She takes her time with you and will order tests to get to the root of your issues. So refreshing in comparison to western medicine practice where they just give you a pill to mask your pain/issue, but never getting to the root of the cause. This is what Gloria will do for you, get to the root and give you a plan to fix. I highly recommend her and her services.

Working with Donna has been a very positive experience for me. She has had a noticable impact on my physical pain as well as my ability to get sound rest. Given the fact that I have never used alternatives to traditional medicine I am impressed with the level of care and compassion I was treated with. I have no doubt that Donna has my best interests in mind. I would certainly recommend her services to anyone.

I have used Holly for my healthcare and back/shoulder issues for many years. She is an amazing acupuncture physician and healer. She knows sports and sports injuries so very well. I have sent many people to her and all have given fantastic feedback. Injuries that Western medicine would say needed surgery would heal. I highly recommend Holly for any of your sports and sports injury needs as well as your health needs. She's an amazing woman with whom to work!

Hi everyone, I recently went to see paula & Rick for their incredible talents and intentions for healing. I must say that it was one of the best decisions Ive made in my life. Before I go into detail, I want to somewhat introduce myself. Im a former United States Marine and recently got out of Active duty. Im 23 years old and have been to a combat deployment and done all the necessary actions to keep my fellow comrades alive and well. After coming home I haven't been fully the same, my feelings have been fairly numb and my motivation to do anything has lowered dramatically. After being in the dark for some time I decided to look for some help. Let me tell you when I arrived to see this wonderful couple, they greeted me at the door and supplied with more information on the subject than I could Imagine. The time spent with them was marvelous and personal. The amount of knowledge these two have is insane. Instead of buying medicine from pharmaceutical stores to numb the problems, with healing energy medicine you can find the root of the problem and by the end of your session you will have a solution on how to heal yourself more. Since then everyday has been a healing process and will continue to be this way I hope forever. I have found happiness again and my will power has increased gradually. So glad to have come across these angels. The experience was life changing and an eye opener as well. For anyone who is reading this now, wondering if its worth it, just know I would have payed even more for the service received because what they give is a gift that keeps on giving. Absolutely grateful for my current health and I thank Paula & Rick for that!

Over the nine years of knowing Jed, every single referral we sent, and we ourselves, have found his ability to hone right in on our specific needs is extrarodinary! He possesses a flair for understanding the human condition as a whole, par none! Wise before his time, he also has a way of calming ones' countenance in his presence, as he has either learned, or perhaps this is innate, the fine art of detaching ones' emotions, in order to better care for others' needs first and foremost. We have seen him, a man of many pure hearted talents, as the hypnotherapist, the reiki master, the neuromodulation technique practitioner, the mental health counselor, as he often has given us the privilege of observing his wonderous healing skills on behalf of our beloved friends turned referrals! To Jed we say, long may you live...as there are so many out there who have had the great privilege of being surrounded by your extraordinary healing love. With many more to show up, no doubt...

VANDHY promptly replied to my request for 1 1/2 hours Customized Massage. She was extremely confident she could help ease my muscle pain and stiff joints and, performed as exactly written in her job description. She was present, focused and knowledgeable and even went over 5 minutes for the estimated time of the session, at no additional cost. I have hired a myriad of Massage Therapists and she's definitely a keeper. Warm, fun, relaxed and laid back! After the session, I felt better than I have in the last few weeks. I highly recommend her and will hire again.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is classified as an alternative healing method, but licensed naturopathic doctors share some of the same academic background as conventional medical doctors and can often prescribe some medications. According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), naturopathic medicine is holistic care that addresses a wide range of problems including (but not limited to) allergies, chronic pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, obesity, respiratory conditions, heart disease, fertility problems, menopause, adrenal fatigue, cancer, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Naturopathic medicine aims to strengthen and empower the body and its organs to heal itself through low-force interventions. Here are some examples of the type of medical services often provided by naturopathic doctors, as cited by the AANP:

    • Clinical and laboratory diagnostic testing
    • Nutritional medicine
    • Botanical medicine
    • Naturopathic physical medicine (including naturopathic manipulative therapy)
    • Hygiene
    • Counseling
    • Minor surgery
    • Homeopathy
    • Acupuncture
    • Intravenous and injection therapy
    • Naturopathic obstetrics (natural childbirth)

    Can naturopathic doctors prescribe medication?

Licensed naturopathic doctors can prescribe some pharmaceutical medication. Naturopathic doctors complete academic training similar to that of conventional physicians: a bachelor’s degree with a focus on pre-med studies, followed by a four-year residential naturopathic medical program whose first two years have a similar foundation to that of a conventional medical school. After completing their studies, they must pass a post-doctoral exam. Although licensed naturopathic physicians are able to prescribe medication, they usually focus on prevention rather than treatment of symptoms. A naturopathic doctor will offer a holistic approach to your care that encompasses your mental, physical and emotional health. While they will prescribe medication as needed to treat illness, they are also likely to be creating shifts in your lifestyle and nutrition to effect deeper changes in your body’s response to illness.

    Do naturopaths take insurance?

Many naturopathic doctors accept insurance, but a separate question is whether your insurance covers alternative and naturopathic services. There are several steps you can take to find out:

    • Verify whether you live in one of the 20 states that currently licenses naturopathic physicians:
      • Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Washington.
    • Confirm whether your insurance will cover naturopathic medical services. Read your insurance plan’s fine print, verify whether naturopathic doctors fall into your insurance carrier’s definition of a doctor, and confirm that the care you are receiving is considered medically necessary. Questions to ask your insurance provider could include:
      • Am I covered for this treatment by a naturopathic physician?
      • Do I need a referral?
      • Is there a list of approved naturopathic doctors in my network?
      • What will the co-pay be?
      • Are there limits to my naturopathic coverage?
    • Before seeking medical care, it’s key to understand the difference between a naturopathic doctor and a naturopath. Anyone may advertise themselves as a naturopath, while to be a licensed naturopathic doctor, a person must complete academic and clinical training.

How do you find a good naturopath?

It’s important not to get misled by the title “naturopath” when searching for a naturopathic doctor. A naturopathic doctor is a licensed professional, while anyone who so desires can call themselves a naturopath. A naturopathic doctor has completed eight years of schooling and is licensed to provide high-quality medical care. When searching for a naturopathic doctor, a good place to start is by researching your state’s licensing and regulatory body for that profession.

Currently, 20 U.S. states license the practice of naturopathic medicine. For those seeking holistic, body-centered healing solutions, a naturopathic doctor can be a good fit. They use natural medicines as well as treatments such as electrotherapy and ayurvedic medicine to encourage the body to heal. Once you have determined a list of naturopathic physicians who are licensed in your state, look for reviews, ask for referrals, and interview the physician in person or by phone to find the right care provider for your health needs.

How long do naturopathic doctors go to school?

Like conventional physicians, naturopathic doctors undergo rigorous academic and clinical training prior to practice. Typically naturopathic doctors go to school for eight years. There are currently 20 states in the U.S. that provide licensing for naturopathic doctors. According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, a naturopathic doctor must complete a bachelor’s degree and an accredited four-year residential naturopathic medical program, and pass an extensive postdoctoral board examination, the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX), in order to receive a license or registration to practice medicine.

The first two years of the residential naturopathic medical program cover many of the same areas of study as conventional medical schools. Naturopathic doctors provide primary patient holistic care. The goal of naturopathic medicine is preventative care and a focus on low force intervention healing methods. This can include natural medicines, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, homeopathy and much more. Naturopathic doctors often work in tandem with conventional medical doctors, as the two practices complement one another.
