We hired a wedding planner, but what we gained was a friend. And what she gave our family was absolutely priceless.
I genuinely don’t know where to begin when it comes to expressing our gratitude and appreciation for Annette. There simply aren’t enough words or stars to adequately reflect what this incredible woman did for our daughter and our family.
Planning a destination wedding along Florida’s beautiful 30A sounds like a dream, until you realize that absolutely everything is à la carte, every vendor must be coordinated separately, and you’re trying to pull it all together from hundreds of miles away. What should have been one of the most exciting times in our daughter’s life had become completely overwhelming. She had reached the point where she was no longer enjoying planning her own wedding. As her mother, watching the excitement slowly disappear from her face was heartbreaking.
And then came Annette.
Within the first few minutes of speaking with her, I felt as though I’d known her my entire life. There was an immediate sense of comfort, trust, and genuine connection. I knew we had found someone special, but I had absolutely no idea just how much of a blessing she would become to our family.
Almost immediately after hiring Annette, something happened that I will forever be grateful for. Our daughter got her joy back. The stress began to disappear, the excitement returned, and that beautiful smile we had been missing was back. It was as if she’d just gotten engaged all over again and couldn’t wait to plan her wedding! As the mother of the bride, that alone made Annette worth every single penny.
But she was only getting started!
Annette drove EIGHT HOURS to be there for our family. As soon as she arrived she was reaching out & getting all the details lined out. She met with the bride & groom to go over both rehearsal & wedding day. From the moment she arrived she was working to give my daughter her perfect day. She met us at the chapel & ran through the ceremony many times to make sure everyone had an understanding about what they were doing during the ceremony. On the day of the wedding, she began working at 6:00 in the morning, coordinating vendors, overseeing details, and traveling back and forth between our chapel and reception venue. And let me tell you, anyone familiar with 30A during fall break knows that traffic alone can test the patience of a saint!
Yet somehow, she made it all look effortless.
Every single detail was handled. Every moving part came together beautifully. And if something went wrong behind the scenes, we certainly didn’t know about it because Annette took care of it.
One situation in particular showed us exactly the kind of professional we had hired. Our florist attempted to change the agreed-upon delivery arrangements and wanted to leave ALL of our florals at the Airbnb where we were getting ready, expecting us to transport them ourselves to both the chapel and reception venue. These locations were miles apart, and with the traffic on 30A, that was simply not an option. More importantly, our contract clearly stated that the flowers would be delivered to the locations where they were being used.
Annette wasn’t having it.
She stood ten toes down, advocated for our family, and made absolutely certain that the florist honored the contract. There was no negotiating away what had already been promised and paid for. The flowers were delivered exactly where they were supposed to be.
That is the kind of person you want in your corner on your wedding day!
Throughout the day, I would occasionally call Annette to check on things, and she would gently remind me that my most important job that day wasn’t managing vendors, worrying about timelines, or handling logistics.
My job was to be the mother of the bride. To be present. To enjoy every precious moment with my daughter.
I cannot begin to tell you what those words meant to me.
Because of Annette, I got to do exactly that. I got to watch my daughter become a wife without the weight of an entire wedding resting on my shoulders. I got to be fully present for moments I will treasure for the rest of my life. And I can promise you, without Annette, that would not have been possible.
By 8:30 that evening, my husband and I practically had to push this woman out of the reception and tell her to go get some rest! She had been working tirelessly since 6:00 that morning and STILL intended to stay until midnight to meet the vendors returning to collect our rental items. After everything she had done for our family, the very least we could do was insist that she leave early and get some much-deserved rest before her long trip home.
That speaks volumes about her dedication, work ethic, and genuine love for what she does.
Our daughter’s wedding day was flawless. Absolutely beautiful. Everything we had dreamed it would be and more.
But when I think about Annette and everything she gave us, it isn’t just the perfect timeline, beautifully coordinated venues, or seamlessly managed vendors that I will remember.
It’s the peace she brought to our family.
It’s the smile she put back on my daughter’s face.
It’s the fact that I was able to be a mother instead of a wedding coordinator.
And it’s knowing that while we were making memories, someone who genuinely cared about our family was behind the scenes making sure those memories were everything we hoped they would be.
You simply cannot put a price on that.
If you are planning a wedding along Florida’s Gulf Coast and are even remotely considering hiring a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, please do yourself a favor and hire Annette. Don’t hesitate. Don’t second-guess the expense. I promise you, she is worth every penny and then some.
I can’t speak for every wedding planner out there, but I can speak wholeheartedly and without reservation about Annette. I would recommend her a thousand times over, and if she ever needs a personal reference, I would be honored to share our experience with anyone considering her services.
