We are impressed with the level of support we have received from Jocelyn and will continue to use her services as long as possible. Our children have benefited greatly from the diagnostic assessment that was given in order to target weaknesses in their reading. We have continued to see growth in our girls' reading and writing.
Ms. Arp tutors my 9-year-old fourth grader twice per week with a focus on reading and writing. Prior to beginning her sessions, Ms. Arp met with me to gauge my child's needs. She was very thorough in her assessment of my wants and obviously very knowledgeable about best practices in teaching and remediation. I felt very comfortable being honest about my child's weaknesses and my fears for his future. Ms. Arp put me at ease, though, when she explained to me her plan for bringing my child up to grade level in reading. Ms. Arp spent the first sessions diagnosing my child's reading abilities. From there, she paid close attention to what he was doing in his classroom lessons, and her tutoring reflected the same subject matter as his teacher's lessons. If his class was working on identifying the main idea, that's what my child would work on with Ms. Arp during tutoring. Whenever I had a new idea for an area of focus, Ms. Arp always listened and changed her lessons to address those concerns. I feel like Ms. Arp is part of the larger team of folks who care about my child's education. My child has gained confidence and tangible skills thanks to Ms. Arp. I am grateful that we found a tutor who offered a convenient schedule and a reasonable rate. Giving your child the best opportunities in life should not exist solely for the wealthy. Ms. Arp allows my family to afford the extra academic attention while still having enough left over to keep my child in other extra-curricular activities. We could not have asked for a better tutor. Thanks, Ms. Arp!
I saw my kids progress and improve on their reading and writing skills once we started working with the tutor. She individually teaches our twins and provides lessons appropriate for their levels. I'm glad we started working with Discovery Reading.
Both my son and my daughter were fortunate enough to have Mrs. Chiang as a teacher. They both absolutely loved her, and she was a joy to work with from a parent's perspective, also. Her students learn so much from her in terms of writing mechanics, structuring paragraphs, and improving reading comprehension. She is nurturing, patient and inspires trust from her students.
Kellae is a lovely lady that nurtures and possess an extraordinary level of patience; she is extremely knowledgeable and very warmhearted; my daughter waits impatiently for her arrival for each session. Our experience with Kellae has been remarkable. She has proven her gift of teaching through her energy and creativeness. She is helping my daughter improve her writing skills by teaching her how to correctly write a thesis, use transitional and descriptive words, and strengthen her research skills. Also, Kellae is very patient, energetic, and is full of suggestions and is willing to try many different approaches to help understand topics that are difficult. Kellae takes the time to send my daughter helpful resources to aid in my daughters studying beyond our sessions and is sincerely enthusiastic when she makes progress in her studying habits. Kellae is just whom my daughter needs to take her to the next level in her education. She is kind and attentive, and my daughter has been very receptive to her from the first time we met. Mrs. Davis brings a lot of knowledge and experience to her tutoring sessions. My daughter's reading ability, curiousity, and self confidence have really blossomed with Mrs. Davis. I recommend her very much!
She became and Editor. She edited my book. This was the very first writing that I had ever done for publishing. Without her critique and her sitting with me and explaining the importance of my being myself and making sure that I wrote from the point of what I declared my book would be. She shared with me how important of writing down that people would know you from your writing. She met with me in my office. Never was Mrs. Mansfield in a hurry How Long Did It Take: It took 2 weeks and 3 days. What impressed me most of all was Mrs. Mansfields ability to pull out of me that what would had been necessary to enhance my book. Secondly a willing to listen to me read my book. My book and me as a new writer was very important to her. It was not just a job but care and concern. Some of the time spent in my office, especially the length of time just speaking to me about becoming a writer. Many times was over and beyond what I believe many other persons would have done. Her critiques and the work that she performed was over and beyond helping a new writer. The question is what could have been better: Exactly mothing!! What went wrong? If anything? Nothing. What could Pauline Mansfield do better in the future? Continue to share her love and concern for the people in which she helps. Please note: My use of the name YaQar YaQar is because I have 1 name which is legally "YaQar"
