Dr. Valk has a very flexible schedule which has been very helpful for our busy life. He has been such a positive influence on my son’s learning and his confidence in his math abilities have continued to thrive in his one-on-one tutoring setting. Additionally, Dr. Valk provides lesson feedback and notes to my son's teacher and is able to have a good line of communication with her. Our son finds his unique ability to explain the topics very clearly and ability to show different ways of solving the questions very helpful. Dr. Valk's communication to us and his teacher have been instrumental in helping our son progress in his math classes. He actually said, "mom, I'm starting to like math". This is big for a student who has always dread math class. We are so very pleased with the progress he's made.
Chema is a truly gifted tutor. I hired him to help me with my daughters 10th grade math class that she was struggling with and I was amazed at the improvement she rapidly made - even after only a few sessions with him. Her confidence grew so much I really saw how it made an impact on her other subjects as well in school. Chema is a highly professional teacher. He is trust worthy, great value for money and an all round nice person that children love and relate to. We first met Chema in the school he was teaching at and also got to encounter some of the other students he teaches Physics to and I was blown away how much the students just love him. Hire Chema for your tutoring needs, you will be so pleased you did!
As a returning college student, I found myself having to do math after a 20 yr + break. I am so grateful for meeting Ian. He gives excellent instruction and many different ways to comprehend the math language. He has great patience and is very flexible with my busy schedule. I will most defiantly use him in my future classes and will be on top of my list to hire for my children if they are ever in need of extra help. Thank you Ian!! JMM
Herb has been tutoring our son for two years. He had a D in geometry when he started with Herb. With Herb's help, he pulled his grade up to a solid B. We found Herb's help to be so beneficial that we decided to start with him right at the beginning of this year for Algebra II and he has had a B/B+ in that class all year. In addition to being a great math tutor, Herb is a really nice guy and super flexible, willing to adjust the schedule as needed. We highly recommend Herb!
Mathnasium is a phenomenal place! I am currently a senior at the University of Idaho and these guys were able to help me out with 400 level math classes! I had met with other private tutors who could not help me. Mathnasium is the reason I passed those classes! Thank you!
Puentes was able to accommodate exactly what I was looking for, which was rather specific. I wanted a private tutor twice weekly for an hour at a price I could afford long enough to become fluent. Puentes is priced very fairly, making it not only a great place to learn, but also one that is sustainable long term. Their immersion techniques can be intimidating at first, but I feel that they will definitely work for me, forcing me to use the language so I can learn it better. I would recommend Puentes to anyone considering learning another language.
My patience, sincerity and humor.
As a teacher for years, I've taught many subjects in many settings, including four other continents. I can help you or your child master reading or the English language. My rate below is for when you come to me in downtown Nampa. We will begin by meeting in a nearby coffee house, The Flying M. I charge $10 more if I have to go to you. If you are in another country, we can talk over the phone or internet.
I work independently as a tutor in my spare time. I primarily teach Science and Math to high school level students, but I also help in writing and give computer lessons. I have no preferences about age or experience. I have a great deal of experience in Math and Science from my college studies. These subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Programming, Math, and up to Calculus. I have been writing extensively since high school. I have worked for my school newspapers, written screenplays, and am about to publish several books. I was also required to take advance English and Writing classes in college as part of the honors program.

As a child, I struggled greatly in school. I didn't have a tutor to help me either. Let me help your child.
I love to help people grow and learn. I am a college student, and want to become a developmental psychologist. I have always enjoyed education.
I bring dedication to every tutoring sessions. When combine with the desire to learn of the students, we can achieve great results.
I have not met another teacher who has taught kindergarten through twelfth grade special needs students at public schools, charter schools, and online schools.
During the time I taught English and Spanish, my students rated well above the average at the end of each academic year. As a result of my record in teaching, I was appointed the Head of th English Dept. in the Papillion-LaVista Schools in Papillion/LaVista, NE
I help with math. I've completed years of math including trigonometry, calculus, and differential equation. I can, for sure, help with basic math needs, like algebra, etc.
We tutor the following: * Math and Accounting * Algebra * Calculus * Stats * Probability * Nursing * Anatomy an Physiology * Computer Programming * HTML Basics
I don't require commitments or cancellation notices. Sometimes the student needs help with just one or two assignments, not 30+ hours of tutoring (i.e. over a month). Sometimes scheduling conflicts will pop-up out of nowhere. You never know when your kid is going to get sick. By not requiring long-term commitments, or penalizing sudden cancellations, I can focus more on helping the students.
I passed all my math classes while I was in high school. I never went to summer school for any math class.
As a tutor, I have gotten great feedback from both students and other tutors. One tutor listened as I was explaining key ideas from Moby Dick to a student. Afterwards, she said, "If I had had a teacher like that I would have enjoyed school more." I try to be encouraging and creative when I tutor. I include visuals, word pictures, analogies to explain concepts. I also am passionate about learning new things and love to see students succeed, and I think that gets communicated through my time with them. With writing, I love good stories. I have read a lot since I was a kid and have taught writing, graded writing, and fine tuned the way I think about writing over the years. For me, it's important to say something clearly, concisely, and in a memorable way. In short, to say it/write it well. Because communication is such a big part of the way we do relationships and business, I strive to learn every day and work hard to communicate my own ideas effectively and help others to do the same.
