I experienced Judo instruction in high school for about 6 months. Then in college for over 1 year I studied Japanese Karate and many years later, 2 years of Shotokan Karate. At age 68, after experiencing various physical issues, I wanted to try an age appropriate martial arts to keep my reflexes beyond par and learn new skills. Unfortunately, some of the teachers I observed before choosing Peter Honigmann, forgot the need to tone things down for seniors, especially those with physical issues. Then I met Peter, whose style of teaching an amalgam of the best of the various styles, fit perfectly into my needs. He teaches situational personal defense so a student of any age and any ability can know what to if they encounter various dangerous situations, potential and actual. My fellow students and I enjoy the 1 hour class and look forward to it. It also says something when prior students renew.

Victory MMA is absolutely changing my life. I walked into Victory Naperville a broken person. Through the lessons I am learning both in martial arts and life, I regained a lost confidence I thought I would never regain- and an amazing, supportive group of people. It is an incredible positive, energetic, place which is dynamic and fulfilling no matter what your goals are-whether it is learning a new skill, getting active, or competing one day- Victory MMA (Naperville) will get you there.

Began piano lessons with Clara as a mature adult. She is extremely patient and highly skilled at breaking things down to smaller, more achievable goals. Enjoyed each lesson and opportunities to play with others.

Coach Slavica is great! I had never taken lessons or done any type of self defense instruction before. A friend of mine and student of hers referred me to her for lessons in Krav Maga. I was skeptical about whether it was for me, but seeing the passion with which she teaches and talks about Krav got me really fired up. She doesn't just teach me what to do, but she explains from a fundamental level why I'm doing it so I have a full understanding of what Im trying to accomplish with my techniques. She has also been flexible in scheduling which is a big plus because I have a crazy schedule. Highly recommend!

I took boxing lessons with Andy and had a fantastic experience. My original reason for the lessons was to get a more intense workout. I certainly got the workout I was looking for (Andy asked a lot of questions to understand what I wanted to get out of the experience and tailored his approach to make sure I stayed challenged), and I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had at the same time. Moreover, even though I originally planned to use the lessons as a workout, I find myself moving through the city and navigating my physical interactions with people, in general, differently now. I gained a confidence in and awareness of my own body and abilities that I didn't even know I was lacking. Can only say good things about working with Andy and about what I gained from the experience!

\I recently began taking lessons from Doug. I have no fighting experience and he has been very patient showing me the proper technique and foot work to build a good base of knowledge for boxing. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great workout and one on one training. JD

Strive is a top notch facility with incredible instructors. The way they teach these kids stretches beyond Strive with lessons to be used at home and at school. The change in discipline and confidence in my children has been priceless. I'm grateful to Strive for being such a positive influence for my children.
