I have been training with Michael since August 2015, and he is amazing! I have previously gone through three trainers, and he is by far the best! The workouts are challenging, and I have noticed a huge change in my energy level and strength. It has also greatly reduced my stress levels, creating a positive outlook everyday.
Outstanding gym and high quality personal trainers!!! Not only is Barkes Fitness a Top Notch gym, but Ben and Amanda and their staff are excellent personal trainers. Ben responded to my request within minutes even though it was after 8 pm. He got me in next day for a consultation. During the consultation, he did a great job of explaining the responsibilities of a personal trainer and the responsibilities of myself. After listening to my goals, he laid out a few plans from which I could choose. Ben is honest and very straight forward as to what it takes, in his opinion from 30 years experience, to reach the goals I was looking for. Once we got started, Ben has followed through on all his responsibilities and pushes me to meet mine. The atmosphere of the gym is that of dedication, hard work, individuality, and they definitely create a gym family environment. They have pushed me to stay committed and in only a month, I am beginning to see results. I look forward to continuing my training and enjoy seeing the gym grow. I would highly recommend Barkes Fitness as a gym and as personal trainers!

Working with Rich has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. He started off as my personal trainer back in 2011 and I've stuck with him ever since! When he contacted me to see if I'd be interested in his BCC class, I HAD to join. Rich not only guides and coaches you to your goals, but he also CARES! not many trainers do.. He knows when to push you, gives advice on things to do at home like certain stretches if you're sore, he knows nutrition, and he knows how to have FUN during class. Initially my doctor referred me to Trainer Bob to begin a consistent exercise routine. I have type II Diabetes and needed to make some lasting lifestyle changes.Trainer Bob is awesome!!!! I hesitated to contact him at first because I was self-conscious about training with someone and going to a gym where everyone looks great. I'm glad I finally made the call and got started. Trainer Bob uses a private gym just for trainers. That put me at ease right away. He has a wonderful personality and really makes an investment in each of his clients. I have been training for about 8 months with Bob. In that time I have lost a bit of weight and more importantly have been able to stop taking one of my medications!!! Bob not only helps with fitness, but coaches you on nutrition and lifestyle changes to help you accomplish your personal goals. In addition, he keeps the workouts interesting, gives you 'homework' and helps keep you focused on lifelong changes. Bob is accommodating with schedules, provides lots of encouragement and always greets you with a positive attitude!!! I highly recommend Trainer Bob for anyone who wants to get fit, make long term, lasting changes and have fun along the way!!!
Mike was very helpful in fitting me with the right trainer for my needs, very prompt and professional and even allows me to bring my 4mo old baby with me. The gym facility is very nice and fully equipped with anything you may need. My trainer, Tommy is awesome! If your looking for someone to challenge you and push you to your limits, he's your guy.
When I initially began my search for a personal trainer I wasn't really sure what I wanted. I just knew I needed to make a change. Jack reached out to me after I created a post on Thumbtack looking for trainers in my area. He was very up front about his background and expertise, which is something I value in a professional trainer. We had an initial appointment to discuss my options and he was willing to work with my schedule as well as offer affordable payments. Jack has given me numerous tools to be successful on this weight loss journey. We started with a guide for better eating, which has been a fantastic improvement in my life, because I knew I needed to eat healthier, but I wasn't sure what foods would ultimately be best for me. Currently, we train together two days a week, and Jack provides me with workouts and training guidelines to be successful outside of our sessions. I am usually able to get to the gym 3-4 times during the days we don't train, which has been a fantastic change in my lifestyle. I used to be afraid to go to the gym by myself, because I had no clue what I was doing. I feel like I have a great foundation now, which has ultimately provided me with the internal motivation to lead a healthier lifestyle. Overall, the beginning of this journey has been a fantastic experience. I'm able to do more physically than I ever have before, and I'm motivated to put in the time and effort to be able to do so. The sessions are difficult, but I always feel encouraged by Jack to push myself harder and I never feel uncomfortable doing it. With Jack's help, I've managed to lose about 20 lbs in almost two months, which is something I didn't even think was possible. I could barely do a push up when we started, and I'm lifting weights and running miles at a time now. I'm looking forward to continue working with Jack to see the progress I'll make in a few more months.
Trish does an amazing job. She changes the workout every time so you do not get bored and challenges you to improve without straining. She is professional and always on time. One of the top trainers around. I have improved tremendously under her training. Both weight loss and strength.
Janelle has been my trainer for 10+ years now. I have back issues and throughout the years she has strengthened my back and my workouts consist of things I never thought I could do. Over the past twenty years I've worked with a lot of different trainers. Unfortunately, I hit an injury bug a few years back. I was dealing with a lot of pain in everyday life and working out was no longer fun. Where as my trainers in the past just had me work through the pain, Ryan identified the problem and fixed it. Ryan educated me and completely changed my mindset on fitness. He made me realize that exercising smart is more important then killing myself in the gym. He also proved to me that consistency is the key and hard work is bound to pay off. Ryan's professionalism and punctuality is superb and his empowering attitude is truly contagious. His understanding of the body is far superior to anyone I've worked with in the past.I just turned fifty last year and am stronger then I was twenty years ago and most importantly pain free!

Danny and I have been working together for the past four months! He is flexible when I need to change my schedule, adjusts my workouts for any injury (NOT related to my training with him - but a running injury), provides we with things I can do at home, and is always pushing and encouraging! He is willing to laugh with me as I try to get this 60 year old body to find it's natural strength, increase my flexibility. and tone up!

I've known Steve for 6 years now. As a trainer and as a friend Steve has been a quality influence on my life as a person. He is constantly trying to better me in many different facets of life as he works to help me achieve my goals. If he feels you are wanting to go somewhere and have drive, he will invest himself fully into helping you to get there. There are 100s of gyms, and 1000s of trainers, but only one person that I would recommend to go see if you are wanting to change your life. I put him at the top of people I would recommend in the areas of health and wellness.

Greg is an excellent crossfit trainer! Makes you work hard and helps you keep going when you think you can't! Gives excellent motivation I lost over 40 lbs working with Greg. Flabby arm fat was gone and I actually had muscles I never knew I had! Gave tips on how to eat healthy to keep your energy up and your weight down! The only time I ever actually looked forward to working out was going to Greg's class. No matter how big or small you are he pushes everyone the same to their limits! Wish I was closer to join his class again!
