We really enjoyed working with Chef Kevin. He developed a perfect (and very reasonable) menu for my motherâs 90th birthday party (a late afternoon reception). We had 50 people attending and he reassured me all along the way that the event would go well, and it did! Chef and his assistant arrived early, helped set up the room for better flow, arranged the food and punch tables, and added lovely special touches such as red roses and petals on the serving tables. Guests praised the food and my mother is still raving about the event. Many thanks to Chef Kev! We highly recommend him.
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Floyd's DJ services was! They were professional, paid attention to detail, kept the party live and got involved with the crowd. My husband threw me a 40th birthday party and they really added to the specialness of my celebration. Everyone commented on how wonderful the music was and they accommodated guests requests as well as my special requests. To top it all off, I had an all green affair and they had beautiful green up lights for me and the DJs wore green too. I thought that was so nice and thoughtful to dress the part. At the end of the night both DJs engaged in nice conversation with my husband and I as they were breaking down their equipment. I was well pleased with their service and am going to recommend them for another event later in the year. If you need a DJ, go with Floyd's DJ service. I promise you will not be disappointed!
After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.
I hired Coast to Coast Event Staff to help me with a 40th birthday party for 40 guests. Dee answered the call when there was less than 7 days to the event. I originally asked for a bartender and an event helper to assist on the party day...I planned to do the rest on my own! Dee offered some helpful suggestions and worked with me to stay on budget. By the end her team created a stunning 3 tier cake and cake pops that matched my photo perfectly (with a 2 day deadline) - ordered/pick up/delivered food from my favorite restaurant - provided all party supplies - balloons - candy display - set up and cleaned up! That part might be easy but it was the customer service and level of communication that earns 5 stars. Dee took the worry right out of my hands. Anthony and Christie were professional and a fun addition to the party. I felt like a princess without breaking the bank and each and every guest left with a smile. Happy to be a referral as they earned my future business.
We hired Shovanna for my sons 1st birthday party. Only one word to describe , it was Fabulous!! The moment my guests entered they were only talking about the decorations and how beautiful and mind blowing they were!! We thoroughly enjoyed our sons birthday. Shawanna planned my baby shower, and my son's 1st and 2nd birthday parties. All 3 events turned out beyond expectations. Each theme was carefully thought out and perfectly executed. Shawanna has a very intricate eye for detail, so you can expect everything to be creatively crafted, from the invitations down to the favors. The favors are definitely always one of a kind. My favorite is the balloon arches. Hard to believe they are handmade; they look like something out of a catalog. I would definitely recommend Exclusive Bashes for anyone who is planning an event. It will surely be one to remember.

Things got off to a rocky start for my daughter's 1st birthday party as she became sick 2 days prior, but Candra and her team really did a great job. They were early, very prepared, and did an excellent job with all the kids and parents. Not having to worry about that part of the party brought the stress level down a great deal. The glitter tattoos were a big hit as well and none of the competition offered that. I highly recommend beaux-lou events!

So many great things to say about Jackie! She put up with me, for one, haha! Jackie helped me plan my husband's surprise 40th birthday party for about 65 people. I thought the best part of her service (though she was excellent from start to finish and I would highly recommend) is her day-of-event assistance. She brought so much knowledge and so many supplies that she was prepared for anything and everything that day--she ever brought a staff member with her who was another huge help! Jackie is the best!
I hired Impeccable Occasions for a surprise birthday party for my wife. There were over 60 people there and all my guests had rave reviews. The bartender was awesome showed up on time and was very friendly. I highly recommend them for any event you may have!
My husband and I hired Michele to assist with the day-of setup for my 30th birthday which was a Crab Feast on the rooftop of our building. Michele and Val were so unbelievably helpful and there is no way we could have pulled everything off so seamlessly without them both. In the weeks leading up to the party we spent hours planning, preparing and buying everything to create the "rustic nautical" event I was picturing. As the items began to pile up we realized we really needed some day-of assistance and found We Plan-You Party through our request on Thumbtack. The moment we spoke to Michele on the phone the first time we knew that we would work well together. It was evident that she truly wanted to help in any way she could to make our party a success. The morning of the party Michele and Val arrived on time and prepared. As soon as they took inventory of all the decor and supplies we had they went right to work, hauling everything up to the rooftop and putting it all together so wonderfully with only a short time window to do it in. Not to mention fighting against wind and the threat of rain too! They put so much thought and care into the entire setup and the end product was a beautiful cohesive event that looked even better than I imagined! We can't thank them enough for alleviating all of the day-of stress and helping to make my vision a reality. Seeing it all come together was awesome!
We never had a wedding ceremony and reception when we eloped 10 years ago. Now that we had the funds, and our 10-year anniversary was coming up, we thought it would be a good time to finally have the wedding we never had. I am so glad we hired a wedding planner. We knew we wouldn't have time to research the vendors, nor know which vendor to choose, and we wanted everything to go smoothly on the day of the wedding. Tynise of Pure Elegance Events did all the work we knew we didn't have time to do and presented various vendors for our wedding for us to choose. She stayed in constant contact with us throughout the preparations, and followed up on our questions and comments via emails. We told her exactly what we wanted, and she made sure to make it happen. Even though we started the planning a few months later than normal, Tynise made everything work while staying within budget. On the day of, Tynise brought two assistants to help out the bridal party while she was running logistics with the hotel coordinator. Even the DJ commented on how she was on top of things. When everything was over, she and her assistants helped the hotel staff clean up everything that evening, both in the ballroom and ceremony room, so there was no need for us to wake up early the next day and clean up. Nothing went wrong on wedding day. Absolutely nothing. Everything was set up perfectly, and we were able to view the reception set up before the ceremony began. We also tried to help out by giving Tynise a printed layout of how we wanted things set up, a full list of the ceremony and reception items, the wedding party's names and contact information, and specific requests as early in the planning as possible. Tynise and her assistants, Amanda and Katie, were the best. Hiring Pure Elegance Events was the best decision we made.
Cheryl and her team at Lotus Event Management were incredible. Professional, creative with an astonishing level of expertise, Ms. Yiadom helped us have the wedding of our dreams. My husband and I work a lot; we both have day jobs an we run a small business together. We had ideas but knew we'd drive ourselves crazy without a planner. Cheryl stepped right in and crafted our vague, slightly quirky, ideas into a ceremony and reception that were elegant, memorable and, most importantly, stress-free. Her vendor recommendations were perfect and her team made the day run beautifully. She is also an absolute delight to work with and we joke about how we can't wait to plan a five year celebration just to have her as a guest! I hired DJ Infinite Sounds for DJ/Emcee services at my wedding and reception on Nov 4, 2017. He was very affordable, responsive, friendly, and did not need much guidance. He called me soon after I told him I was interested. Even though the conversation was brief, he gathered the need to know information (including the type of music my husband and I were into) and took it from there. I received good vibes from him, so I did not have to worry. On the day of the wedding, he provided excellent services. My wedding and reception were on a military installation, so it was kind of a hassle getting on base, but he was there on time. He was upbeat and the music selections were on point! He was even able to fulfill some of my guests' music requests. Overall, he did an excellent job. I definitely recommend hiring him! Thank you, DJ Infinite Sounds!
K.Chic Events did our family reunion which was incredible and in the making for a year! KISHA kept all family members abreast to what was going on since a lot of the family lived out of town! Kisha even went out of her way to handle lounging for some of the family. That was a major plus.The food,decorations,DJ was absolutely fabulous!! Kisha even had a few surprises for us (the family) with shirts with every member name on it,celebrating my mothers' birthday, plus my 40th wedding anniversary! Kisha professionalism was incredible! We used this company to throw a surprise 40th birthday party for a friend. From start to finish this company was very professional. Our POC Valencia was extremely responsive and detail oriented. They also have vendor relationships so we did not have to worry about finding a cake vendor, photobooth, or DJ! The venue we used had tight timelines and On the day of the event, The team was punctual and able to maximize the time for set up and break down. There was an incredible attention to detail and everything worked out perfectly. I would definitely use their services again.
We hired Wonder Woman for our daughter's 3rd birthday party and she was absolutely awesome! She had a lot of patience with kids, gave all her attention to them, specially to the birthday girl. Did crafts, read stories p, did face painting and tattoos, did coronation of bday girl, sang happy birthday, did piñata and posed for pictures. I will totally use Princess Parties of D.C. for future parties!
I worked with Alexis a few months ago for my birthday weekend. She was definitely worth the money as I am too busy to effectively plan my own birthday. We had such a great time at my birthday dinner/bar crawl! She assisted with coming up with the Pretty in Pink theme. She suggested classy yet highly affordable places for my friends and I to go to in the DC area and handled all the logistics. Overall, everyone had a great time and we didn't have to worry about anything. In addition, she wrote out all the invitations herself and they were absolutely adorable! I will reach out to her again for my family's reunion next summer!
