Mr. Kaddoura has been tutoring my oldest son in Geometry Honors and my youngest for 5/6 grade math skills. My oldest son raised his grade to an A with very few sessions and is feeling more confident and motivated in his class. My youngest is enjoying learning new strategies and skills that are helping him develop critical thinking skills in Math. Mr. Kaddoura has been very accommodating with scheduling. The most important thing is that both of my sons feel confortable with his teaching style, confident, and mastering the skills.
My son's online tutor was Dan. He and my son worked very well together, and Dan was open to suggestions from me via email which he would incorporate into his sessions. In less than 2 months tutoring twice weekly, he was able to bring my son's college math grade from an F to a C. We are thrilled with the results we received from employing Arbor Tutors. We first worked with Steve and explained our needs, and he matched us with Dan. Great job, Steve and Dan! Thank you so much!
Bill Pow knows Geometry!! Bill was very prompt in responding to the initial Thumbtack correspondence. We were set with initial appointment within a couple days. He spent hours with our daughter in this first visit. He has been patient and concise in his review of difficult geometry concepts and sticks with the material until he is certain the concept is mastered. Our daughter has received a 94% and a 91% on that past two exams she has taken since working with Bill. She had a failing average before she began working with Mr. Pow. Mr. Pow's rate is very reasonable, and he has been flexible with scheduling. My husband, our daughter and myself could not have asked for a better outcome! Highly recommend! as Bill Knows Math!!
Let me start out by saying that I am NOT a "math person." I've always struggled in all my math classes (Except geometry that involved shapes and vocabulary. Go-figure.) This semester I had to take Calculus for Social Management at George Washington University. I soon realized that I was falling behind, and not understanding the professor or the concepts. I was beyond lucky to find Nema. We spoke on the phone for only 30 minutes the night before our first session- and he proved how much he could help me in such a short time. Nema is an incredible professor. He helped me quickly find my strengths and weaknesses- and is incredibly patient. We reviewed each concept- and the ones I did not understand he was able to explain multiple different ways, and effortlessly provide different example problems. I went from not understanding 90% of the class and having to constantly refer to my notes; to knowing each rule and types of problems inside and out. We worked together many hours to prepare for my midterm- and after many sessions with Nema, that was the first time I had ever taken a math test without freezing up on a problem. I knew exactly what to do without hesitation. Nema is an amazing professor, has a great sense of humor, and clearly loves what he does and it shows!
Viven is very patient and knowledgable in teaching Geometry and PSAT. He goes above and beyond to work with the student to provide daily homework and feedback
I wanted a french tutor for my 8 year old daughter in order to improve on her conversational and comprehension in french. She is really enjoying the classes and had been improving a lot in her area 8 weaknesses.
Ben Schwabb/physics & engineering tutor is a real professional: knowledgable, concise, thorough, and presents a well-planned lesson each time. He helped my high schooler pull up his physics grade dramatically and pre-taught an electrical engineering course to my college-age son to get a jumpstart on his fall class. Alex/director is extremely responsive, provides quality tutors quickly, and stays in contact to ensure client satisfaction. Every company should operate this way.
Barbara has helped my (now 14)-year old with math for going on three years now. Algebra I, Geometry and preparing for several big exams. She is always ready to help with whatever questions come up for him in his classes, prepare for tests, go back over old material to strengthen knowledge, or just celebrate fun things about math. It takes a very versatile mind to teach this well with the changing needs we bring her from one week to the next. We have really appreciated her ability to jump in to help with a sticky question and even consult on a detail by phone if needed. We highly recommend Barbara for math support.
I am a recent Master's graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University looking to teach others Arabic. I speak a range of dialects from all over Middle East including Egyptian, Gulf, and Levantine dialects. I have over 3 years of experience tutoring Arabic to Virginia Commonwealth University students.
In my over 25 years of teaching, I have taught the following to hundreds of students ranging in age, from 3 years old to 83 years old: 1. music (piano and music theory); 2. SAT subject tests; 3. reading, writing, math, and Spanish During this time, I've prepared my music students to successfully sit and pass several examinations in both music theory and the piano; I have tutored elementary students, many with academic difficulties, helping them to advance to excellency, while tutoring middle and high schools students for the critical reading, essay and grammar tests for their SAT. I also prepare my music students for participating in recitals, competitions, concerts, talent shows and for auditions to enter college, including Duke Ellington School of the Arts and Suitland High School of Fine Arts. Additionally, many of my students have appeared in concerts, playing their masterpieces on CATV, the P.G. cable television.
I try hard to bring out the best in people and give out positive energy. I truly believe that music can heal people. It certainly has helped me.
Gaston Lopez has been an awesome tutor. He helped my daughter go from a C to an A in Geometry. He helped her go from an B to an A in history. This year he helped her understand her trigonometry to become more consistant with her test scores. Gaston explains to the students on their level so they understand the concepts. I am really amazed with this young man ability to work with young people. I am very thankful for him and so is my daughter.

My niece took some SAT prep classes with Brendan, and she had a great experience working with him. Not only Brendan was always prepared to teach, but he was very patient with my niece and was able to breakdown each lesson in a way that made it easy for my niece to understand. He is reliable and very professional. I would definitely recommend Brendan to anyone who is looking for SAT prep classes.

I've got a degree in French and spent a summer living in Paris. I speak Spanish fluently and spent a summer living in Buenos Aires. I've tutored in math for 10 years, and have experience teaching in a classroom setting. I'm patient and make sure to explain hard concepts in plain language. I will work with your children in K-12 with their French, Spanish, and/or math classes. If you intend to take a trip to France or Latin America, I can help you learn some basic French and/or Spanish, as well as give cultural tips.
Mr. Glass is a wonderful middle school math teacher! Both of my daughters have difficulties with understanding math and require a teacher who is patient, understanding and willing to take the extra time needed to be sure their students comprehend the lesson. Mr. Glass is that type of teacher! He also makes learning fun and can be a little silly with the kids, which seems to help kids feel more at ease with asking questions in the classroom and admitting when they don't understand something. My girls felt more confident in his classroom, and actually ENJOYED taking his five week summer school class!
Ms. Reetika was one of the best tutors I've ever had. I lacked basic knowledge on math and chemistry but she had great techniques for me to remember formulas to doing more practice problems. Her way of explaining the methods on problems weren't complicated but right to the point. She wrote down problems and explained them step by step. I also really liked her personality, I'm usually really shy when it comes to asking questions because I didn't want to look dumb but I was very comfortable asking her questions or to repeat something if I didn't get it. She had great energy, charisma and was very friendly and made every lesson interesting. She's very organized so there was a content that she marked everything we had covered. I was also freaking out about college one time and her advice made me realize she's not only a great tutor but a great person on giving advice too. I truly appreciated her helping me. I would recommend her to everyone because she has helped me a lot. Thank you Mrs. Reetika👌🏼
I have a passion for not just the guitar but creating and experiencing all types of music. My mission is to instill that same passion into others by helping them learn at their own pace and finding their own unique style.
I'm currently a major in Junior Math (4.0 in major), Music Composition, and Horn Performance (3.8 in major) at CNU. I'm willing to tutor for math or give lessons on the plethora of woodwind and brass instruments. I am certified as well in teaching piano lessons. I'm great with kids; I have a 10-year-old sister and nine-year-old brother. I'm willing to travel and very flexible!
Kathy has been tutoring my daughter in Math for over two years My daughter has dyslexia and math is just as difficult as reading for her. Kathy recognizes my daughter's strengths and builds on them, she understand her weaknesses and boosts her confidence. Kathy knows how to keep the focus of a child and make the learning process both fun and challenging. She teaches through multi-sensory learning, acknowledging that what may work for one child does not necessarily work for another. She uses games, pictures, stories, rhymes and experience to help a child learn and understand a lesson, not just learn it by rote. My daughter enjoys and looks forward to working with Kathy each week.
