Hi Solutions is awesome. We have been looking for a handyman for awhile and we feel that we have found our handyman. Walt was very responsive and within 24hours of our project post, they reached out and preformed the services. We needed our kitchen faucet replaced. Christopher came out to install our faucet. He was personable, knowledgeable, and worked hard. He explained what he was doing and assured us that we bought a decent faucet. We look forward to hiring them again to do some more work.
I needed to have 3 Ikea kitchen cabinets assembled & hung on the wall as a floating credenza below our wall mounted tv. Cesar was on-time & professional. He cut out the back of the center cabinet to allow access to the electrical outlet & HDMI cables. I highly recommend Cesar & will contact him for my future projects.
Nick came out to me in Dupont Circle even though it was Labor Day. He was prompt, polite and very professional. He repaired faucets in the kitchen and two bathrooms. He also fixed leaky bathtub and shower heads. Finally he determined where there was a leakage in my dishwasher. I checked his work and the problems were corrected. When we were missing a part, he found an open hardware shop and got there and back in no time. I appreciate his work and would use him again for any plumbing work.
Robert is very professional, very knowledgeable, personable and honest. He was on time and able to come the same day to replace a kitchen faucet which he completed in 45min. He explained what was needed and what he was doing. Great customer service and would definitely do business again!
Gabriel came by on very short notice and took care of my kitchen sink leak quickly. He was very neat and clean while working. He noticed some other issues with my pipes and offered to fix them while he was here. I'm glad I got his expertise, as I had gotten other plumbers previously for the same problem who did not have the same insight. I highly recommend Gabriel.
remove old two handle shower faucet and install new single handle chrome unit. arrived on time, had the right tools, quick estimate, called in to secure a discount. very happy with work and plumber. would hire again. great job. thanks.
I was originally lookIng to have my commodes replaced, but when I saw all of the other work Juan does, I put that on hold. I wanted some painting done before Christmas. Juan came and gave an estimate on the same day I did my search and we agree on a date and price that day too! I knew the quote was more than reasonable. Juan arrived early, and the service was professional and FAST!!! Three rooms, a small kitchen and bathroom painted (walls only; furniture moved) in under 6 hours!!! To say that I am pleased with the painting service is an understatement! They didn’t drop a spec of paint anywhere and have such streaky hands that taping was not needed! These guys are the real deal! I cannot wait for the next project and will be using them for more painting, to remodel my bathroom and some electrical stuff!
They were great! It took a little time to get our appointment scheduled. I think they are busy because they are just so good. But the delayed time actually worked out for us in the end because we needed our contractors to finish the work before we had Luis come to clean. He treated my home with respect and care- removed his shoes each time he came inside the house. Always asking if there was anything else he could do because we had paid for 4 hours of their time and the deck job only took 2. He went back out and scrubbed the chairs done; they vacuumed our office and he helped me with the kitchen cabinets. I was so thrilled with their job well done and outstanding professionalism. I wish we had more projects at our house just to have them back. They are a bit pricey, but worth it when you see the professionalism and quality of work produced. You can see the before and after pictures- this was done by hand! Thank you Ed and Luis and I absolutely recommend them!
Nilto & his team did a great job removing my popcorn ceilings, painting the walls, changing faucets, locks, lights, doors, and etc. Nilto is very responsive and professional. He is polite & very good at listening what you say. His prices are much more fair than the other contractors I spoke too and he does a very good job. I will definitely contact him again!
I was looking for a simple tiling project in my 230sqft kitchen and half bathroom. After getting all the materials Jenrri got straight to the job. Provided suggestions and materials on making the finished product look cleaner. And with it only being the two of them made great time. I can tell they work hard. Overall I am very pleased with the work. I would recommend to others and rehire in the future
Brandon was professional and friendly. He did a great job replacing my faucet. I will be using his services in the future.
I'm glad we hired Julian. He has been very quick to respond to questions and has given us straight answers about how to handle a misbehaving water heater. He replaced a faucet and trap in our bathroom and his work looks good and was very reasonably priced. There was no mess to clean up. When another job kept him longer than expected he kept us in the loop so we knew when to expect him. I really appreciate how easy it is to reach him and get an answer to a question, the caliber of his work, and his straight forward honesty. We will definitely hire him again.
Randy was very responsive. MCS crew came on time. They finished the plumbing job in a reasonable amount of time. Their rates are very competitive. Once the job was finished Randy immediately checked whether I was satisfied with the job. They changed the kitchen sink drain pipe, replaced tub spout, and unclogged a slow drain. All done properly. I gave them one less star as they were clueless in trouble shooting a simple shower temperature selector issue. The crew recommended that I replace the mixer, which was totally working fine. It was just a matter of knob selector not properly secured. I did the troubleshooting and offered the solution, which they gladly implemented.
We needed assistance with a bathroom tile job quickly. Tim certainly came through for us - both in quality and price. Mario did an amazing job. He is extremely proficient. We can't thank you enough - the bathroom looks amazing!!!
I can't say enough good things about James Lewis. I was a little skeptical about hiring someone from a web site but I'm really happy I selected James. I hired him to replace the faucet on a basement utility sink. He did a fantastic job and at a fraction of the price several plumbing firms wanted. The firms had clearly exaggerated what was involved to maximize their price. In talking to him, I found out he also does electrical work so I had him replace a double light switch that had gone bad. It was a real pleasure to meet and spend time with James. If you need plumbing or electrical work done HIRE THIS GUY!
I have Hired SR Home Improvements 3 times during the last 3 years, they are awesome. The first time I hire them to repair a drywall problem in the bathroom. They came right away and made it look as it never happened. The second time they painted two bedrooms and the kitchen, and the third time they remodeled the entire guest bathroom. They have done an exceptional job in my house, every single time. They are very punctual, professional and clean. When I need help in my house, they are my go to team.
Ernesto Cruz (his company is Salvation, LLC ) installed a dryer vent and washer for me in my finished basement where there was no existing plumbing. I was very happy that to install the dryer vent he did not cut a hole in my basement drywall ceiling where as I has couple estimate previously and both had told me they had to cut the drywall ceiling at least in 2 places! He did a nice job to install new plumbing for the washer. At the end he hooked up washer/dryer and made sure work properly. He always showed up on time, very organized, and completed the job within the timeframe promised. He is polite and got the job done at a reasonable price. I would recommend him to any friend or family member looking for a good plumber. I will contact him for any future plumbing need at my house. Thank you Ernesto!
The team at Langley did an awesome job. They redid our our wood floors and fireplace and added a dry bar. UE has the experience and ability to vision and communicate what is possible and he provided a lot of suggestions (on the high and low end of the cost spectrum). The result was better than we imagined. A few items that needed to be fixed once it was done, which is normal for this type of project, were remedied quickly. Unfortunately, were rushed for time and should have made time for a sit-down meeting to talk through everything in detail before we proceeded which would have helped in reducing some back and forth. Even so, UE was very responsive. We plan to use them for other projects including our complete kitchen remodel/redesign in several months. Highly recommend them.
Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.
Simply put - Deck Wonders provided us with excellent service and we look forward to hiring them for future flooring and/or deck needs. In fact --- after having our tile installed by Deck Wonders, we hired them for a second project installing beadboard in our laundry room. Deck Wonders is a great company to hire because they are affordable, communicate their schedule and needs properly, do the job right, and finish within a reasonable amount of time. All of these reasons were evident to my wife and I after Deck Wonders completed the initial tiling job we hired them to do. As with most home improvements, some issues don't become evident until after you pay the service provider. At that point you're either screwed because the company won't come back to look at whatever is wrong, or you'll have to shell out more of your own money to find a new contractor to correct the first contractor's mistakes. With our tiling job, we found a few issues with the transition strips between the carpet and the newly laid tile --- namely the corners on the strips were coming up. We notified Deck Wonders and they were able to come out a few days later and properly fix the transition strips at no added expense to us. What made their return visit even sweeter was that we asked Deck Wonders for a quote to install beadboard in our laundry room during this visit --- not only were they able to provide a very competitive quote but they started and finished the installation of the beadboard that afternoon! That alone left my wife and I very impressed.
I cannot say enough good things about RB Construction (Remberto and his crew) on their work during our kitchen relocation. Honest, fair, reasonable price, quick and resourceful. You cannot beat their prices. I tried to on drywall, cabinet installation, painting, carpentry finish and tile work and nobody came close To make a long story short, I had him out to bid on patching drywall after electrician ran wiring and ending up hiring Remberto to finish the entire kitchen. We live in a house built in the 1930s and moved our old galley kitchen to the family room. Remberto and crew did a beautiful job on the tile work to include all the difficult subflooring work. They also did an excellent job on drywall and smoothing out transition with old plaster. Finally, they did an amazing job on installation of kitchen cabinets despite the fact that none of the walls were square or the ceiling level, as well as the custom installation of a 300 lb. country sink. They are true craftsmen! I wish I would have found Remberto when I start my remodel job. He would have saved me time, money and headaches.
