Initially my reason for contacting Deck Professionals (DP) was to have a patio installed but because of the size of the patio and materials I wanted, I was unable to afford the patio at this time. However, after sitting with the salesperson who came out, we were able to decide on having a deck constructed/installed at a very reasonable cost.
Unfortunately, the staff constructing the deck did not speak English and therefore, there was little to no communication which resulted in some problems which were not resolved even after contacting DP with my concern. My garage door which I opened with a remote so workers could store tools or supplies is apparently broken because the workers some how pulled the door down without the remote and now the garage door does not open. The workers told their supervisor they did not close the door, but there was no one in my home except me. At the end of the day, when I went out to check on the guys they were gone and the garage door was down. I attempted to use the remote to open the garage door but it did not budge. I contacted DP on two occasions regarding my concerns. They never sent anyone out to investigate the issue and the staff supervisor never came by to even inspect the deck after it was completed. I felt if he came by I could point out some minor issues I had with the deck as well as discuss the garage door and come to some resolution.
While I have homeowner's insurance I do have to pay a deductible and I explained this to DP but have received no response or assistance. I am not mechanically inclined and thought maybe the issue with the garage door could be something minor and possibly the supervisor could correct the problem but he never contacted me.
The deck looks great and I have received several compliments. My four issues: 1) Non English speaking staff working and I was unable to communicate with them. 2) Garage door broken by staff, they denied breaking or using the door. No assistance or corrective action taken to resolve the issue or satisfy me as a customer. 3) Supervisor for staff came to my property on one occasion which was to initially bring staff to discuss the location of the deck to be installed. 4) Once deck was completed "NO ONE" came out to do a final inspection of the deck or to formally speak with me with regard to my broken garage door.
I honored my contract and paid the entire cost of the deck. However, DP did not ensure the Supervisor came out to investigate my concern with my garage door or to perform an inspection of the deck.
I can only say if you do not speak Spanish, you should request that someone speaking English fluently be onsite at all times because none of the workers could communicate with me. I actually used an online translator to instruct the workers to use the side door of the garage.
