Well well well, I'm not sure where to begin. Chef Serge is FABULOUS! His food is phenomenal and he is very creative with his menu. I had such a hard time narrowing down my selection. His personality is upbeat, lively and FUN! And all while cooking amazing food! I emphatically recommend Chef Serge to anyone looking for a CHEF, a cook, a caterer, anything you can use him for, do it! He also brought an assistant who was equally as pleasant and amazing. The cooking lesson was for my teen daughter. Mary was very accommodating. She was well prepared and very professional. She taught my daughter with patience and she made it fun for her. She taught her terminology and safety, as well as helped her to create a wonderful meal. My daughter will continue taking culinary classes with Mary and I would not hesitate to recommend her to family and friends.

Manjiri was amazing! I wanted to do something new and fun for my guy friend and it was his birthday. I reached out to a few different vegan chiefs and they were either only doing classes on the weekends or the classes were full. I insisted that we do this ON HIS BIRTHDAY, which was on a Wednesday. Manjiri didn’t tell me no. She was all for it! Though i live 55mins away it was very much worth it. I loved the fact that it was one on one with her. No other couples, no distractions! She had everything set up. All we had to bring was ourselves and containers. She explained everything before we started to prepare after that It was all hands on. She even had the recipes typed up for us! It was fun and new! The food was DELICIOUS!!!! Manjiri is very professional but she laughed with us and made us feel comfortable. He loved his surprise private cooking lesson. Thank you so much Manjiri. We appreciate everything

I attended two cooking classes ( light Mexican and healthy grains) taught by Chris & Emily at the William Tally Rec Center. I highly recommend these classes. They were very informational and Chris &Emily are full of cooking knowledge which they share. We made several recipes and sampled our finished dishes. After the Mexican class, I promptly purchased a tortilla press. It is so easy to make your own corn tortillas. I would have never tried it on my own. Lori

As an educator, Chef Julian is outstanding, particularly with regards to excellence, creativity, discipline and adherence to historical and traditional cooking. Chef relates to young people exceptionally well and conveys, and expects an extremely high standard for dignity, respect and excellence both in and out of the kitchen, As a chef, Julian creates truly exceptional culinary creations that are well founded in traditional American cooking but at the same time are modern, creative and innovative.

Chef Matt is absolutely amazing! I have been using his personal chef services and I can honestly say that he has been a blessing in our life. I first learned about Chef Matt on an online community of moms in Old Town, Alexandria. Because I had a small baby and no time to cook, I decided to order our Thanksgiving meal from him. I was so happy I did – the food was absolutely fantastic and everyone at the dinner table raved about it. In fact, it was the best Thanksgiving meal that I have ever had. Since then I have been ordering from him on a regular basis. Chef Matt’s food is fresh, healthy and out-of-this-world delicious. His recipes are very diverse and incorporate a lot of international influences, which I love. Everyone in my home is so excited when we get the food from Chef Matt. I wish I knew about him long time ago, especially after we had our baby and struggled with finding the time to cook. I know that he teaches cooking classes and I hope that one day I will have the opportunity to learn how to cook amazing food directly from Chef Matt. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for personal chef services!

I have come back to Crystal for private cooking and baking lessons as well as private cake decorating lessons. The photo attached is from my first lesson with gum paste. She was very patient and did such a wonderful job putting some really sophisticated techniques into terms that I could understand and execute despite my limited experience with formal culinary training. Love her!!!

I must say Chefgreenlife is one of the main reason why I care about my health. Not only have I learned to love healthy food which is funny because I used to complain about finding healthy food that actually taste good and Chef would always laugh & prove me wrong - I've also learned to respect and value the the person cooking my food so now If you have bad vibes I won't even eat your food all things I've learned through Chefgreenlife ! Not to mention Queens extensive knowledge on life and other areas that aid in a healthy and wealthy mind state - Cheers to health wealth good food and chefgreenlife

Kristin has been providing meals for my family for the past 3 years. Typically, I will order twice a week and it has made my life so much easier to come home from work and have a hot meal already prepared. Her menu changes weekly and the variety is impressive. If I need her to use brown rice instead of white, or if I would like extra spinach, it is never an issue. Her meals are always on time and delicious. I have recommended her to many friends. I have also been to a few cooking classes that Kristin has held at her home and was able to come away with easy recipes that require little time in the kitchen. Her attention to detail is extremely important to her and you can tell from the meals she provides to the cooking classes she hosts. The only thing that would improve the service is if she delivered. : )

I'll give you as fair and honest of a review as I can, but you should know I am Meetal's husband! Although I am biased, I cannot praise enough the cooking and teaching that Meetal is capable of. We have 2 young daughters, and the four or us are fed primarily by Meetal's fresh, healthy, tasty, and unique cooking. What amazes me most is how quickly she is able to do what she does. Like most families, we have a busy household with little time for grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. Meetal has turned cooking for our family into an efficient art, something we share together and make time for because everyone loves it. If you have a family and want to eat healthy and delicious food at home that you create with your family, Meetal is the person to teach you. Meetal has a lot of experience with more complex cuisines and dishes as well. Her Indian food is highly sought after and she's taught many friends and adults how to approach cooking this cuisine. Daal, Indian spiced turkey meatballs, and other unique Indian dishes could be on your table soon. Meetal has been teaching kids and adults for a while. Expect a fun, lighthearted, and sometimes fast paced approach to cooking. Best of luck in your cooking adventures. I hope Meetal can help you along the way.

I had Chef Danielle come into my home for a cooking lesson/dinner party for my husband's 40th birthday party. She arrived on time 1/2 hour before the class would start to set up and was there for about 4 hours. It was really easy working the menu and I was happy with the menu options she presented me and the ability to make more then one entre to satisfy the tastes of all the members of the group (8 adults). We all had a blast from those that cook on the regular, to those of us (me) that don't ever cook. I was expecting my kitchen to look like a total disaster after having had 8 adults cooking in my kitchen, but she cleaned up everything! The food was fantastic and I had left overs that we enjoyed days later. Thanks for a great time Chef Danielle!

About

At every Tiny Chefs' party, class, camp, or special event, children learn how to measure, pour, mix, and stir, and use their creativity to create delicious eats. Our cooking classes are a great way to introduce children to the joy of cooking and baking. Kids show a sense of pride when they can make something with their own hands. The objective of each event is to enhance confidence, skills, and pride in each child as they prepare fun and tasty meals. Your tiny chefs will learn by doing as they are encouraged to explore their imagination and creativity while learning basic cooking skills and safety in the kitchen.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
