Do far so good, she has had two lessons with my headstrong 6 year old son and she has been patient with him and he has been really excited to show off what he has learned. She gives homework to reinforce what he is learning during his lessons .

I am a fan of piano lessons with Sean primarily because he works at your pace and works with the direction you want to move toward with your music. He is extremely flexible with scheduling lessons - I decided to meet on a bi-weekly basis and whenever a need has come up to postpone a lesson, he has always been very understanding and hasn't had any problem with rescheduling. I have only been taking lessons for a few months with Sean and this was my first time learning how to read and play piano music, but I can already hear the difference from what it was like when I first started to now. He does focus in on technique, yet also allows time for playing music that you want to play. If you're a student that enjoys a little more flexibility and less rigid lessons, this is the instructor for you. He is extremely reliable and great with responding back to you. His passion for piano music is clear and if you ever get a chance to hear him play, he's great to listen to on the piano!

Don is a very accomplished guitarist with a wealth of knowledge. It shows that he is eager to impart his knowledge. I had my first lesson with him today and I learned so much. He incorporates music theory in to his lessons to show us why things are played the way they are and where they originated from. He was patient and very encouraging. His soloing skills are phenomenal and I am excited to learn from him. I highly recommend him to musicians of all levels. He is now my jazz guitar guru! Hail to the Guitar Chief Don!

I hired Bill for electric guitar lessons. I actually shopped for an instructor who would fit my learning style best. I learn by doing things hands-on, not so much auditory learning. After trying 4 different instructors, I decided Bill was the best fit for me. Other instructors were good but did not have what I was looking for such as: not teaching according to my learning style, not understanding my goals, or making me feel like I learned nothing after the first lesson. I felt none of these will Bill. After my first lesson with him, I knew he would be a great fit for me. You can just tell he has experience by interacting with him. I left the lesson feeling satisfied with the information I learned and that I am capable of reaching my goals. He takes his time with each lesson, does not rush, and welcomes all questions. He is patient with newbies like me and adept at explaining things in a manner that I will understand. I never feel overwhelmed with the information he gives. I like that he gives positive encouragement when you do something correctly. He will also help you correct you if you have bad form/technique. Bill is very professional, he responds to inquiries quickly. He has the knowledge, experience, and background to help you reach your goals. He has a great personality and is willing to work with your schedule. I highly recommend Bill as an instructor!

I have been playing guitar for my own enjoyment for 40 years. As a boy I briefly had casual lessons in strumming along to popular music. The lessons weren't very serious or effective, and so I'm pretty much self taught. Over the years I've become an accomplished dilettante able to impress the nonmusicians, but always aware that I didn't really play very well. In all that time I've often wondered how the really talented musicians learned their craft, never more so than while watching my son's slow progress with the laughably unchallenging lessons at Bach to Rock. This Christmas I told my wife I would really enjoy having some serious instruction, and she went hunting for the best the region had to offer. She found Alexander Rani at NOVA. I progressed more in my first 4 lessons with Alexander than I have in the last decade. I see now how accomplished musicianship is not some unattainable feat of the few truly blessed. Proper technique and a little diligence can see even an old duffer like me making beautiful music. My wife, who thought I was ridiculous for wanting to take lessons when I already knew how to play, keeps telling me how shocked she is at the difference. I feel like an idiot for thinking it was beyond me and not seeking out a real teacher before. And that has been the difference: a real teacher. Alex is fabulous. I have to say I find it intimidating to be sitting down with such a tremendously accomplished musician. He is so at ease doing things I know are extremely difficult and he can throw in endless variations of his own creation seemingly without having to think at all. He is a concert quality guitarist of the very first order. However he is wonderful at making you feel at ease. He is kind and patient and never condescending or harsh. (And I promise, my playing should try his patience if anyone's will!). I won't say he makes it easy. Quite the opposite. Alex will challenge you at your level of ability. He will take you out of your comfort zone and on to the next skill or technique and tell you you are ready to do more. For me the first run through anything new seems completely alien, and many of these things I wouldn't have given more than a first try. But Alex patiently takes you through one little bite at a time and quickly it becomes more natural. In a short time you are doing things that you didn't think you had in you. And that has been the biggest surprise. I haven't gotten very far yet, but now I understand how it is done, how accomplished musicianship is attainable one skill at a time. Thanks, Alex.

I’ll be honest, I got lucky finding Dave. Years ago, I saw an ad in the Baltimore City newspaper, a place where Dave stopped advertising shortly after I called him. You’ll have the same luck learning from a dynamic artist. Each lesson has as much energy as the first, you will never get bored. If you're looking for a professional, experienced, and dedicated musician you found him. I knew nothing about the bass before taking lessons with Dave. He always puts the student's musical interest first providing solid instruction. He structured each lesson to my interests, i.e. if I wanted to learn Le Chic's Good Times, Dave didn't try to convince me to do something else; he went with what I asked. And Dave is totally accessible. I’ve had lessons in his apartment, studio, house, and on Skype and FaceTime. He even worked with me while overseas in France via Skype, that’s 6 hours time difference. Don’t kid yourself, if you are serious about learning the bass so is Dave. He’ll find a way to make it work. The best part is during each lesson and over the years he incorporated fundamental musical knowledge to build my understanding and repertoire. If you work hard, listen, and be patient you will grow.

After a great stint of piano and violin lessons, we just began with Johnny Walker, Aida's strings teacher, to start my son on cello. We are so impressed with him - he knows HOW to teach, asking questions, guiding my son to think and understand rather than a mere demonstrate-and-repeat style. My son immediately took to him and can hardly wait between lessons for the next. Thank you!

Mr. Grattan provided videography, a band, and a duo, for my daughter's wedding. It was such a relief having all of that in the hands of one person instead of three different vendors. The band was called the Rockits, and they were fantastic. They played great music and when they went on break, they played new music like a DJ would. It was really perfect. The duo was PG&Robin. They were really good for the beginning when people were heading in and having a champagne before the ceremony. The video Mr. Grattan did was really professional and my daughter got it within a week, which is unheard of. She got a long and short one. I highly recommend Mr. Grattan and PG Productions for video and entertainment.

I've been seeing Keith for about 6 months now, I've been drumming for about 4 years, I'm 35 now. I wanted to progress my drumming ability beyond what I learned in the past few years. I originally just wanted to meet for a few lessons to critique my technique, now I see him week to week. I felt Keith was the right guy because he's a seasoned and passionate drummer. He learned directly from the masters, ones who literally wrote the books on modern drumming and shaped modern sound. In a short amount of time he's identified many of my bad habits and helped me to correct them. My technique and grip has improved night and day, I can drum with much more finesse and speed after adopting and practicing his techniques. He urged me to learn to sight read, something I didn't really consider, and now I surprise when I practice myself because I always thought it was too much effort. After practicing his lessons, my independence between limbs, especially left hand on the snare - I didn't think I could do it this easily. I get a lot out of my time with Keith, and I go out of my way to see him weekly. I see kids as young as 5 absolutely jamming in his studio, and older folks too, older than me. His teaching demeanor and general vibe is professional and encouraging. He has a real passion for drums, absolutely key in finding the right teacher. So in short, if you want to step your drumming up, or if your kids need lessons, Keith is your guy.

I have used Alvin Smithson's services for over five years as a piano tuner, teacher and performer. I am always impressed with his skills, artistry and professionalism. Alvin first came to tune my 100-years old Steinway after it had been neglected for a number of years. He first examined the instrument, diagnosed what needed to be done and then proceeded with his expert tuning. Immediately after he was done and started playing, I was amazed at how good the piano sounded. Alvin explained that with a piano that hasn't been tuned or played in so many years, it will take some time to achieve its best form and sound for which it was built. A short time after, my wife started taking piano lessons from Alvin and as she started gaining proficiency in playing under his guidance, the piano itself gained a rich pleasing sound. Alvin paid close attention and adjusted notes or did a full tuning whenever needed. He also took the time to clean the strings and do minor technical adjustments. When a string needed to be replaced, Alvin recommended a technician from a highly reputable company. Overall, we owe it to his expertise to have the wonderful old piano do what it was built for by the Steinway masters. I should also mention that I heard some great musicians at venues where Alvin is the regular piano tuner. People who visit our house and hear our piano, or play it themselves, always compliment its sound. But the best comes when Alvin himself sits at the keyboard, whether at our house, at a social function or performing in the theater, it's such a joy to hear him play some great classical pieces as well as his own wonderful compositions. He is truly a very talented, sensitive and highly knowledgeable artist. And such a pleasant person, too. My wife and I feel fortunate to have Alvin give us the best piano sound to enjoy live music in our home. I would recommend him to anyone as piano tuner, teacher and overall musician.

My experience with Mr. Penney is unparalleled and unequal with respect to any other voice teacher I've ever had. I thought a longtime voice teacher was the best until she passed away and I had to find a new teacher. Then I found Mr. Penney and I've never looked back. Everyone noticed a difference in my voice once I started lessons with him. He hears things in your voice like no one else and he is able to translate that into advice and guidance that enables his students of all ages to reach their potential and their goals.

I was hacking along for the last 10 years not advancing at all with my guitar playing. In about 20 lessons, Morgan taught me the basic fundamentals of music theory I lacked and gave me teh foundation to understand how to accomplish things I couldn't figure out on my own. I am now jamming with other players, feel confident in my ability to keep up and understand what they are doing and feel I have a real basis to progress even further. I am about to re-start lessons now that I have been practicing all I learned for the last 3-4 months. He's awesome...period...and he let me play a song with his band!

Singing in church choirs has been a wonderful outlet and enabled me to find a community as I moved every few years to different parts of the globe. Finally putting down roots, I wanted to find a voice coach who would help me improve breath control, strengthen the range of my voice, and improve the overall quality of my singing. I am blessed to have found Keely Bosworth Borland, a gifted soprano and performer. Keely has been the perfect coach for me. She has a unique ability to both nurture and push me. Keely has identified and helped me work on my breath control. She has used a wide variety of music to foster my confidence while stretching my vocal range. Her lessons include a selection of vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises each week that compliment the music we sing. I have found that recording her lessons and rehearsing them between lessons to be of great help. I highly recommend Keely to anyone looking for a voice coach from the novice to the serious performer.

Carey’s talent as a teacher does wonders for bridging the gap between music theory and music performance. I went into lessons with only a very basic knowledge of music theory that I hardly was able to apply to guitar, but his lessons taught me how to play in a way where I can either explore the musical depth of the tune or simply jam, comfortable that what I’m playing will always sound good. It’s broadened my abilities as a musician without taking away the simple fun of playing guitar, something that is invaluable in any teacher.

I have been taking voice lessons from Tracy for several months now and I can't say enough about her. I love her! She is incredibly knowledgable and always greets me with a smile. I was so nervous and scared when I started and Tracy helped me with my fear of singing. She made me feel comfortable and put me at ease right away. She is very patient with me and is always so encouraging. I feel my confidence growing and I am finding my voice with her. In fact, I now walk around my house belting out songs using this voice that I didn't even know I had. Thank you Tracy for all you have done for me I am so grateful that I found you!
