Here are 10 reasons why I believe that Pompadour DC is the best service in the DC area: 1: The respond time is fast –When I first emailed Mila, the owner of Pompadour DC, she replied to my message with 10 minutes, which is rare when it comes to local businesses. Most companies are not up to date with technology, so they require you to call over the phone during their business hours to schedule an appointment. This was difficult for because during the day, I can’t make phone calls at work, but I can text or email, no problem. Whether it’s via text or email, Mila replies back to my messages super-fast (typically within 30 minutes or less). With other companies, I’m usually waiting 6 hours to 24 hours to hear a response. 2: Mila has a flexible schedule. Before I decided on Pompadour DC, I reached out to 10 different other cleaning companies in my area. I discovered that most companies did not schedule appointments during weekends. Pompadour DC is available anytime (weekends, mornings, afternoons, evening) which is great for me! It’s a rare find. 3: Mila is extremely professional and friendly – across the board. From scheduling to following up after our appointment. Mila does an excellent job on making sure that her service is as expected. 4: She is extremely passionate about what she does. Property management isn’t a job/vocation that most people opt for. However, Mila truly has a knack for this. 5: She brings flowers to every appointment. On top of everything else that Mila does perfectly (customer service, excellent consulting), she brings flowers to top it off. This is icing on the cake. 6: She organized my cabinets in my bathroom and my kitchen. Most companies I’ve hired in the past only work on what’s visible: bedroom, kitchen sink/counters, living room, bathroom tub, sink/counters. But Mila went above and beyond by helping me organize my cabinets. I was so happy with the result. 7: She helped me get rid of clutter. I have an issue with clutter, but Mila helped me figure out what was necessary for me to keep and what I needed to throw away. That was 100% so helpful me …. In fact, that is what convinced me that I had to hire her on a regular basis. 9: Her services are affordable and worth every penny. In addition, she offers real estate, interior design, etc. 10: She is a small business owner/entrepreneur, I make it a point to support local business and I am proud to hire services from her business. Many times, these large companies will hire employees or interns and pay them anywhere between unpaid/volunteer to $10 an hour, which I find disturbing/unfair, especially when I’m paying +$100 for the companies services. I sleep well knowing that my money is going to a good person that doesn’t take advantage of her employees by forcing them to live on minimum wage. Bonus: She takes multiple forms of payment: cash, check, card or Venmo. Many companies only take one form of payment, but because Mila is knowledgeable about technology, she is flexible in terms of payment. Hope this helps! The only thing to be cautious about is cats: Mila is allergic to cats, however, with my cat she was fine most of the time. I want to emphasize that I was not paid or compensated to write this review. I am writing this because I know that Pompadour DC is one of the best services in the DMV and I want people to know about it. Coming back to an organized home from Pompadour DC completely makes make day: As soon as I walked through the door, I see a bouquet of flowers which brightens up my mood immediately. I don’t have to worry about accumulating clutter in my apartment or making sure my apartment is well-organized. Pompadour DC does that for me so that I can focus on my career and spending time with my loved ones. Most importantly, having an organized apartment helps my state of mind – and that’s something that money can’t buy!

I needed someone to refresh and re-design my laundry room (if you can even call what I had a room!). Patrick came over to look at the present situation and the surrounding areas. Within a very quick time, he visualized a design, analyzed the pragmatics, and suggested in a clear and reasonable fashion a possible alternative. I had had no ideas of my own, but I knew a change was necessary. I liked his ideas and his quote was reasonable, and so I decided to proceed. Patrick dove in, repurposing old materials from the minor demolition, as well as acquiring new, appropriate, and improved materials. He was creative, hard-working, conscientious, problem-solving, responsible and timely, and always excellent with his clean-up. And his skills were versatile: carpentry, painting, minor wiring and moving of light fixtures, minor plumbing and moving of plumbing fixtures. The result was fantastic aesthetically and way more comfortable than the original layout. Additionally, the surrounding areas were improved, as the flow was changed, i.e. one now loops through the laundry room area from two entrances. I am thrilled with the new space and Patrick was a pleasure to work with. It is rare to find someone of his talents, spanning from construction knowledge and hands-on home repair to final decorating vision and implementation. I highly recommend Stare's Restorations.

I was absolutely blown away by the work that was done by Eliza & Edison, LLC. Amy Lucas was very accommodating and met me at a hotel where I was attending a conference as to minimize my travel time. She showed up on time and had prepared two notebooks, one for me and one for my painter. She had several selections ready in order to discuss colors for the rooms I had been unable to choose and we were able to narrow those down quickly. My painter was equally impressed with the folder she had prepared for him and that made our discussion on room colors much easier. I told her she was worth every penny I was paying her – a compliment that I do not make very often. Eliza & Edison are very professional, courtesy, and friendly. I would use them again and highly recommend them to anyone. Well, maybe not my enemies, I don’t want their house looking better than mine! (ha ha).

Decorating can be stressful, but Kelley made it as stress free as possible with her down-to-earth approach, positive outlook, up-beat personality, eager nature, and responsive communication. Kelley is one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She treated me like a friend instead of a client. She looked out for me every step of the way and had my best interest at heart during our consultation, shopping trips, and design implementation. Kelley listened intently, did her research, and took immediate action. She was ready to hit the ground running! It was refreshing that Kelley came up with a plan to tackle my design issues, sent me a course of action, and delivered. She even drove me around town during the shopping sessions and used her creative thinking and determination to overfill her car with large shopping items. 1. Excellent work in interior flooring design in every which ways...Having 4, in total, of these interesting and yet colorful carpet-tile rugs on the first floor of the house. I really love how neat they make the space look. The carpet-tile material tracks dust and dirt well. A light vacuum returns their pretty look within no time at all. They are both functional as well as pretty. These are unique and one-of-a-kind solution for your floor coverage, and that is what I'd like to have. Chun-Fa's working style is meticulous, thoughtful and efficient for all of my projects. He never drags his feet of delivering a rug design diagram. He listens to my feedback on the proposed design and would alter/adjust the design to my satisfaction. In summary, he is pleasant, considerate and reasonable to deal with. I'd highly recommend Chun-Fa for your design needs. You will be happily surprised on how good and trust-worthy he is!!

Max & Donna helped my husband and me to make our decorating dreams come true. I am unable to go out and shop, etc. so it was a wonderful blessing to have them bring it all to us! They even made our dream of a downstairs "Great Room" happen! Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.

Our experience with Mr. James and his team was very pleasant. All of the guys were very knowledgeable and professional. They handled all permits and inspections necessary to complete the project. We noticed an infestation of mold growth in one of our properties. We were already contemplating remodeling this area of the basement anyway. We decided to not only remediate the mold but also to hang new drywall throughout the entire basement, install about 13 recessed lights with smart motion switches, slate tile flooring, and rough in and install a full bath in the space. James came in and offered my husband and I a lot of different options to reach our desired goal beyond the mold remediation. He also did the bathroom design, and suggested some beautiful tile combinations and we loved them all. In short we decided to go with James to do the work and the project went flawless. Very professional, clean within reason during a renovation, and very organized and personable. He kept us informed at every stage and there were no surprises. They completed the project in about10 days including county inspections. James followed up with us a month after the job was completed to make sure that everything ok. Great customer service!! We will definitely be using Unlimited Resources in the near future and have recommended James and his team to several people already.
